  Metadata (metadata 'real' like keyowords or develop adjustments) are never saved in Raw DNG files (like .nef, .cr2) directly. With these files, there is always a file called (with the .xmp extension) created to contain the XMP information.

  And Yes, if the option is disabled, LR record key words on the XMP sidecar, when you 'Write to the metadata file' or have the autowrite option active.

  I'm on Windows 10 and have the version of CS6 13.1.2 subscription which has some differences with the Windows constantly CS6 13.0.1.3 version you are using.   Still I can't open this file with Photoshop CS2, CS6 13.1.2 CC or CC 2014 version.  Only CC 2015 will open this PSD.   Software Adobe as must software has bugs.  Adobe fixes some but not all.  You have been bitten by a BUG in the IMO.  You must work around this bug to dose does not have old versions of Photoshop from Adobe bugs.  You know there is a bug and how it bites you must find a way to work around this bug. Adobe will not help you.   CS6 is not be fixed by Adobe...

• 16-bit Tiff and PSD previews in Bridge is not displayed correctly

  Large multi layers files Tiff, PSD and PSB with alpha channels, masks and layers, etc. do not show previews for the bridge (or Windows for that matter). Many of them are very large 2-4GB, but even a typical 30-60MB file with some alpha channels and masks are also problematic with previews.  I think that the problem arises especially when the base images 16-bit ar since the version 8 bits correctly show most of the time.

  It's a question that has a cure?

  Check your thumbnail option in bridge prefs... you will need for the parameters ' Do not process files su-ERS to '... Mind you, it'll take a while to rasterize these large previews so take a cup of java while the bridge made the calculations...

• Exporting to PS CS3 I only have options for Tiff and PSD, how to get jpg?

  You will need to reduce the level of 18 to 8 bit in order to produce an image JPEG to PS. (use: Edit in)

  You can also export directly to the custom with a model of export JPEG from LR format (use: Export)

  In this case, you usually have a bad monitor profile. Re-calibrate your monitor.

  I work with the demo of Photoshop CS6, with cab 7.1. CS6 System Info will appear at the bottom of this post. Summary: AMD Phenom II x 6 1090 t., 16 GB RAM, Win7 64 bit, nVidia GTX 460 video w/1 GB RAM, approx. 2.5 TB of free space on several internal physical disks, Canon 50 d, CR2 files. I have a camera profile generated by the profile editor, and the monitor is calibrated with i-to-1 Match.

  I practiced with the new basic Panel controls (2012 process). When I felt that I was getting the hang of them, I started to save JPEG and TIFF files and noticed differences between what appears in the bridge and ACR. I worked on it for a while and searched some other threads in the Forum that seemed to speak of similar results. I have now tried to Image Processor via the bridge, save the Image in ACR and open > save manually in PS CS6. By what route, the TIFF and JPEG are different (lighter in the following examples, but this isn't always the case), while the saved PSD seems to be close, but not identical to the CR2 in Bridge or Photoshop. Here is a screenshot of the bridge thumbnails that show the differences.

  

  I hope that the labels come out legibly. The two images on the second row are respectively of CR2 and PSD. What is really strange to me is that when I re-recorded the PSD file in TIFF format, the same type of difference appears in the TIFF format. (See the _MG_7960_via_PSD.tif above.) I downloaded the CR2, its XMP, TIFF and JPEG on Sendspace (107 MB) file. I did earlier in my experiences and regret that the naming of the files is not as informative as perhaps.

  I ran a few other ACR adjusted by images of CR2 Image Processor and saw a variety of differences between rendering files and the FIRST versions. The differences appear to be in the exposure and contrast. Most of them looked a bit darker, unlike the examples above.

  You have the option to auto tone apply verified? I noticed and reported that a bridge bug is CS5, when your car is verified. It may still be around.

  IF prefs are designed to open jpef/TIFF image in ACR * IF * the files has ACR settings (aka a XMP file), * AND * auto tone has been verified * THEN * auto tone has been applied to the bridge thumbnails even if jpef/tiff did not ACR settings. Thumbnail/preview looks so different when opened in photoshop and others. The thumbnail has the auto tone and the opened file does not.

• LR3 files and .psd

  I am a new user of LR3, long time PS user (currently CS4) and am assessment LR3 to see if it provides a better fit than Aperture 3 in my workflow.

  I created a .psd file, which is saved in the Finder.  This image was imported to LR.  Chose edit in PS CS4 > Edit Original.  Made changes in PS CS4, file > save, back to LR and changes are not reflected, and there is a triangle with a! Error message is: Lightroom has encountered problems of reading of this photo.  You will not be able to make adjustments on the photo.

  Is there something wrong with my workflow, or if it is not supported in LR?

  If you save as psd rather than tiff, then check that maximize compatibility turned on in PS, otherwise there is no picture of a file attached to the psd for LR to use. A better solution is simply to use simple rather than psd TIFF as psd has no advantage over the tiff format (indeed has many drawbacks as a format).

  I want to scan pictures and 600 dpi tiff and save them to a USB flash drive, but won't my canon mg6220

  Let me bad format.  Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  If you scan directly on the USB key using the Control Panel, you are limited to the use of JPG or PDF format.  To analyze the TIFF, you will first need to analyze the images on your computer, then copy them to the USB key.
