CPU fan failure

I have a Compaq SR5510F and when turn it on, the error message: don't have a CPU fan.  I took off on the side of the processor, and two fans that I see are turning very well and one that is in the box also turns fine.  Is the CPU fan, one upstairs that you can not without disassemble everything?  What should I do?  Anyone else have this problem with this model?

There are 3 fans in the SR5510F. The PSU (Power Supply) contains an extraction fan. The system fan is also an exhaust fan. The CPU fan is mounted on top of a metal radiator. The message "CPU fan has failed" is triggered by a sensor. The cause can be a dusty fan, or obstruct the fins of the heatsink or a fan that runs too slowly to dust.

My Dell Studio XPS 9100 did a loud intermittent noise for a few months and then last week I got a CPU fan fault message while booting. I blew all the dust from the fan and I always get the CPU fan failure message. I finally got the system starts by placing a small fan blowing air into the funnel will CPU/processor fan.

Alas, my warranty expired 2 weeks ago. I'm kicking myself contacting technical support a few months ago, when the problem started.

I need to replace the fan. What parts need me, and where can I get them?

    Thanks much for the reply.

Thank you. After being tossed a little I transferred to the sales and ordered a new CPU fan for a cost total which includes shipping and taxes of $42.25. Too bad it wasn't 2 weeks ago, then she would have been free.

The seller said that I would not need thermal paste. Is this correct?

  • CPU fan failure: Dell inspects the expedient to the customer before computers the they?

After waiting 11 days which includes I believe a week in the production of my Tower, 17/11/2015 I finally received my new Inspiron Desktop Edition Gamer (Intel). I turned on the computer and guess what I saw on the screen "CPU Fan Failure".  So now, I have to return the tower to a Dell for a tech to fix the problem with the fan.

Here's my question. Fact or not Dell inspect their product before they will deliver to their customers? Well, Dell has not delivered the product if a "CPU Fan Failure" had existed before shipment.

Unfortunately things can occur in vessels too...

Before send back you, open the case and check if the cable is correctly connected to the motherboard. The cable may have jumped out of the motherboard.

Just unplug it and plug it back to the motherboard. If it's totally off the Board, you can go to the Support page for this exact model and look for the link at the top of this page for the manual. Most service manuals show a diagram of components/connectors on motherboard and CPU fan connector must be checked.

If everything's fine, which solves the problem, so you won't have to send again.

  • Presario SR5100 - CPU fan failure / BIOS firmware update

My SR5125CL Office does not start even after replacing the CPU fan. Error: The CPU fan has failed.

Some sites, I searched recommended deactivation/check the fan under the hardware > monitor in the BIOS.
Cannot find this menu in the BIOS. Attempted to upgrade the BIOS from:
    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=2093&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=3460...

use a different PC and it just tries to install on this PC. No options to create an update CD. Looking for other sites, same lame upgrade that involves running the OS. Even if the PC boots long enough to upgrade the firmware, it is now Windows 7 and the patch is only for Vista.

I'll win the volunteers here and explain others to profit from my mistake. I took out the old fan to match. When I installed the fan nine days later I have it plugged into the outlet of case fan. For a CPU fan, it is not the BIOS. In any case, similar problems on the forum gave me the idea to look for another job from outlet and it is.

  • Error Cpu fan failure cannot Acess Bios Compaq Presario SR1315CL Help!

    I wanted to upgrade the processor. I have 2 extra cpu a Sempron 2500 + and an Athlon 64 3200 +.

I asked for advice on the card of another (wrong place, laptops), but got some good advice.

I decided to try the Athlon 64. After having removed the radiator and the fan and replace the cpu,

I get the ERROR: CPU Fan has failed! PC will turn off automatically in a few seconds.

PC service immediately to avoid damage to the PC.

I tried the Sempron, same thing.

I made sure that all the connections are good. The fan turned by the way... Works very well.

I studied the error and and found advice to enter the bios by pressing F1 and adjustment

the bios with the default settings. I can't get into the bios. I pressed on, F1, Del, and F10. F2 will enable

to continue to start. The processor is listed as unknown to the station.

So how can I access the Bios? I kill the PC?

N ° you should have cleared CMOS before installing the CPU. The voltage and FSB settings are different on the Athlon 64.

Remove CMOS battery and set the clear CMOS in position 2-3 then press and hold the power button to @15 seconds or more.

Reinstall the original CPU back in to check that all is well.

If all is well then update your BIOS to the most recent available such that he would have supported for processors more. The link is to the latest BIOS for your motherboard from the PC.

Clear CMOS again, and then reinstall the Athlon64

  • Fan CPU T410 failures?

So I replaced my fair share of fans of the T61 processor because of their disappearance, lock up and giving a fan error when starting.

Now I begin to see a rash of new brand with T410 CPU fan failure.

Show everyone in the biz to repair a growing trend of this? Or is it just me?

  • Error: Failure of CPU fan

The original motherboard was not on my Pavilion a6528p. I got fed up with accidents several blue screen whenever I started to use it. Once he ran for a while (an hour or two), he has generally kept running. Worked to try to eliminate the virus/malware (multiple programs found no no), the memory test (used memtest86 +, ran all night without fault), CPU test (Prime95 torture test used, ran all night without fail) decided to try another motherboard. Not able to find a new, so decided to take a chance on a used.

The jury used (so far) has never crashed. It is therefore a good thing. However, every startup I get the message "ERROR: CPU fan failure! Press F2 to continue to start. "I believe that this message is incorrect because I ran Prime95 torture for hours test and the temperature of the Processor reported by CPUID HW Monitor program is around 52 degrees c for each carrot. When I run Prime95 torture test, the temperature of the CPU are much lower, around of 38 degrees C.

The HP support document http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00013522 describes in detail by selecting Hardware Monitor in the Advanced BIOS menu. There is no choice in the latest version of the BIOS, I installed on the HP website, which identifies as BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 5.43, 10/09/2009.

Because the help document is incorrect and no help, someone has ideas how to eliminate this message CPU Fan has failed, what happens whenever I start the computer?

    JimK Hello,

Not all BIOS versions have the same settings and you're right that your BIOS is not this setting. Looking at what the settings you have (http://goo.gl/1mCvq) there is no parameter, you can change even not to ignore the message.

The motherboard doesn't like not the CPU fan that is currently installed, if the fan is not mounted in quick power enough, do not provide enough cooling, or is simply not sufficiently powered is unknown, nor can it be determined. You can try to unplug the CPU fan and reconnect to ensure a solid connection. Probably, you should be able to say that the CPU fan turns so you can figure out if she has no or not enough quickly.

Your options after that are to
    1. process by pressing F2 at startup to work around the error
    2. try another fan for processor to see if you can get the motherboard like.

  • Kaput CPU fan

I need info about the CPU fan OK for my a6030n HP Pavilion with an ECS MCP61PM-HM nettle - GL8E motherboard.  Athlon 64 x 2 (B) 4800 + 2.5 GHz Socket AM2.  Just fan or radiator?  Message on screen is CPU and system fan failure.  The system is 7 years, but I can't afford a new.  Thank everyone in advance of aid =)

    Hello @Nana2004,

I understand that you get the error CPU fan has failed on your HP Pavilion a6030n desktop PC. I provided you with the HP support document: error: CPU fan failure, who will provide you with steps to try before spending money on a fan that you may not need. In the case where you need to replace the heat sink search number is 5187-5704 and can be found in a Google search.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great weekend!

  • «the cpu fan works not.» Check the fan connections and call for service. »

I was wondering if a failure of different from 'CPU fan has failed... system in a few seconds will stop. " I have an office of DX - 2000 P4 under XP SP3 that I just changed the motherboard and CPU fan on. All the fans are running at about the same speed. (P/S, chassis and CPU). Not very fast but cannot see the fins. Computer sat for several years. I was wondering what is the real test and how the fan speed is controlled. I suppose that temperature sensors built into the cpu, somehow, there must be a variable voltage applied to the fans to change their speed and/or a measuring device to see what is their RPM. This must be controlled by the BIOS as is any pass/fail test. My next step is to replace the old fan and see what happens. I have a new p/s to install should be here today. Actually used, but cleaned up and tested. Economy of cleanup. Not sure if my older diet could be the cause of the issue with low Volt.

If the fan is slower than the factory fan, you will have this problem.

  • Compaq SR1901WM system fan failure

I have a Compaq SR1901WM, running Windows XP, SP3, and I had to replace the motherboard. I replaced it with the exact same model, and it works very well. The only problem is, when I first put it, I get a warning that says: attention! The system fan failure! The PC to avoid damaging service please! I checked and the CPU fan is running, and there was no other fan in this case. Maybe I need to get a box for her cooling fan? I replaced the motherboard with the exact same model that was already in it. Any help would be really appreciated, thanks a lot.

I fixed it, bought a case fan, installed, connected to the decision-making system fan and no more warnings. Thanks for your help, guys, I really appreciate it a lot.

  • Tecra A9 - after CPU fan upgrade works constantly at full power

    Hi all

I have 3 Tecra A9 notebook that came with a Core2Duo T7100 clocked at 1.8 Ghz with 2 MB of Cache. Updated every 3 to a T7700 clocked at 2.4 Ghz with 4 MB of Cache. According to Intel, these two processors TDP is 35W. Books don't get really hot and not hot. The CPU FAN starts right full power after the display of the BIOS with the Toshiba Logo screen. Under Bios Version 2.1 on all 3 systems, having the same behavior on all 3 systems. CPU properly recognized under Windows XP, Win7, and Win10. Is it possible to get the adjusted to normal CPU fan? The system isn t is hotter than upgrading the CPU, just for some reason any BIOS has now decided the fan must operate at full power. I even traded one of the CPU Fans with that of a Tecra A10 notebook but had the same effect as with the original fan. Having no idea what I could do. I hope for your help!

I think that needs calibration to be performed to configure the table of fan speed.
Toshiba Service Center to do this.

  • Where to buy for my Satellite Pro P300 CPU fan?

    Hello

I noticed some not very good sound from my cpu fan, as well as my 17 "laptop overheating.
I decided it was time to replace the cpu - model KSB0505HA fan

Now I wonder where I can buy a new fan for this model?
I found a site in New Zealand, but the fan is for the P305 series, and I'm not sure if it would be compatible with my laptop.

Could someone advise me on where I can get a new fan of cpu for this series?

P305 is probably model proposed in US, but it must be the same as P300 in Europe or in THE so I think it should be good.

I put t know where you can order it, but try to use Google and check if you can find a store online in AU where you can order.

I can also imagine that you can order by the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider. Call and ask.

I tried to open it, but after the keyboard, hard drive, Rams, OVOCHECK and 40-50 screws and some cables, I realized I have to get out the motherboard and screen mabe and I close it again after 3-4 hours. The cpu fan has been breaking and I don't know what to do.

I am from Greece. If I go to the toshiba in Greece, I can find a cpu fan or any system cpu radiator? Can you help me?

    Hey Buddy,

Looks like the fan needs to be replaced and therefore, you should contact the closest service provider authorized in your country. Guys can order a replacement part and swap it out.

On the Toshiba site, you can find a list of them:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > find an authorized service provider

Sorry, but everything that s what I can say. Here it s only a user forum so I think no one knows the exact number of part or a manual how to take apart the laptop but the ASP can do for you. :)
