SEO concerns

I built 2 sites with nbot Muse and I am of course how to cause a H1 header.

In the page properties, there is a place for Description, keywords and...

For < head > HTML . What is exactly this option and what it will do for my site?

Take a look a the next thread to gather an overview of what HTML tois used for - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5761499.

To create a header as H1 tag, please use paragraph styles. Take a look at this video here - http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-adobe-muse-cc/working-with-text-styles-create-a-paragraph-style/rus/.

Thank you

  • insertion of swf file in dw vs complete creation of the site in flash

I am updating a Web site and am quite familiar w/html and DreamWeaver, but I'd like to add some elements of the Flash on the site.  I'm using Flash CS4.

What is the advantage and / drawback to insert several SWFs in my site DW versus just creating the entire site in Flash. What is the difference between the two approaches?

If I do the latter, I have subsequently put in DW anyway so this is an html file?

    Thanks for your help!

There may be potential problems with Flash content in a web site since the iStuff evolution leads to reject Flash content to display.  If you are looking to attract mobile users, then go with Flash can be a gamble, especially as you go more down in the future where there will be more development Flash Player align with the mobile market.

I've heard say that Flash does not support the handicapable design elements with the html/css integration.

You can still have control of web page for availability of the Flash Player code, and if not found contained alternative present instead.

A problem of having a full Flash site is that it can be less SEO friendly to go with straight based on designed html, although given that Flash content may still reside in an html page there are some measures that can be taken to support the SEO concerns.

For a full Flash site design, you would probably not need DW since Flash can generate its own html page.

I recommend that you ask your questions in the Dreamweaver forum as well.  The reaction it to content using Flash is likely to be hard, so don't take it personally, but some useful information might still be gleamed to try.

  • RSS Blog - best practices for SEO

    Hello

I am very pleased that we can now add an RSS blog in Muse instead of via an i-frame. I did not yet (watched the tutorial) but have just a question about SEO before I have my clients to trigger this feature. FYI: I often advise customers that it is important to have a blog to help SERPs if the market is very competitive if you need to be sure that adding the RSS feed isn't, anyway, going to be detrimental to the SEO.

Q: when you set up a new blog to integrate via RSS Muse (for example on WordPress), you also have to publish this blog under WordPress, or if she can stay private? If you publish, is there concern about SEO and duplicate content? Are there best practices with regard to the integration of the blog via RSS and SEO (outside the norm on page SEO) best practices?

    Thank you!

PS. I feel like a jerk for asking this, but how to get replies to my messages to be sent to my e-mail address, or notification less that there is an answer? Thank you!

And you make assumptions too much people you don't know at all.

  • Blogging and SEO in Muse

    Hello

I started to design a new Web site using Muse. I am very pleased with the results and feel comfortable with the software. However, we have a very long-term existing website, built in Wordpress which has more than 500 visits per day.

A lot of people who arrive on our website check out our blog. This blog has hundreds of messages that was some 49 pages in 2008.

Since a lot of this content and all our product pages are back related to reviews and articles about the company, it is absolutely essential that I maintain these pages and URLS in the new site.

    So my questions are:

    1. What is the best way to integrate the content of blog within our new face designed the Web site?

    2. What is the best way to preserve the URL and back links?

Currently, I am very concerned to obliterate our web stream and google ranking!

Thanks in advance for the advice.

  • Creation of duplicate site without affecting the Google rankings (was: Duplicate content concern.)

I use Dreamweaver CS6.  I get where I need to create a duplicate site for a customer who currently has the really great ranking on Google.  I am very concerned and don't want to do anything to jeopardize this ranking.  It's for a show business for a limited audience, but there needs to be somewhat modified for public.  What I did is copy throughout the site and place it in a subdirectory.  I removed the Google verification code pages and rejected this subdirectory in my robots.txt file.  Will it be sufficient protection?

  • SEO on a site from Muse single page?

I am a professional photographer and my current Web site is built in Wordpress. It is a nice looking site, but it's just not as commercial/professional research I would like to and I'm looking to rebuild using Muse. I was shopping for some nice looking templates to save me time and many drawings I see are made as a page layouts. Specifically, I'm in this one:

Muse to Muse creative models - Shema - model | ThemeForest

It is a site of unique page with menu links to different anchors around the page. My concern is that on my current site, I have a dozen pages indexed in Google, so if I go on a site more like a muse single page layout, how is this going to hurt my SEO, even if a lot of the same content is taken from one site to the other? Thank you!

One solution is to adapt to different pages in separate sections H1 headers and anchor links. Then create 301 redirects for every old page to the new section anchor. Matt Cutts of Google indicates it should not be a problem, but the jury is still out.

  • Using templates and SEO

I am suddenly confused about problems of duplication of SEO. If I use a template for my web pages that have the same content in the header, the right column and footer, how to duplicate this effect contained concerns? Of coarse each page has a unique main content. Should I put all the information in these images of common columns?

    Thank you

    Terry

Pictures would be horrible for not only the accessibility and UX, but also SEO.

This video Robert is part of the story but not quite right here.

First of all to quickly cover the duplicates:

Duplicate content is bad is when a site or domain contained identical to another - this is where Google will punish you.

If you have to duplicate your site between the pages content, say a product in different catalogs - page is not ideal, but google understands that this can happen for things like product and defiantly DO NOT punish you for it. The question here is really what (URL) you want to actually rank and what actions you take as 301, canonical use etc. to make the pages you want to classify and avoid bleeding off ranking to other pages. That is your SEO here when you need not duplicate content.

In regards to things like the menu, footer, sidebar etc - search engines as google knows what are your sections of the header, which is a sidebar, footer etc. HTML5 for example and schema help define these, using the attribute role as well. It is internal SEO - how you structure the site, optimize the code, the structure separate, function and style. These allow search bots to do their work as quickly as possible and to find what they are looking for to determine what are the components as the best possible.

Google is pretty, smart, when it is made well known a sidebar, read Links if they exist and will simply ignore them when they see them in other parts of the site.

It is not negative and they know that you will have common footer/sidebar etc. as part of your Web site.

This isn't the SEO to be concerned essentially.

As always and forever more the case - content is KING! Good content, not a page with 4 lines of content, content dynamic, up-to-date content and relevant content.

  • Ideas of SEO Page Speed (Google)

    Hi all

    WARNING: I'm not a coder.

I am aware that the team of Muse is always imporving SEO compatibility for the output of code of Muse.

Recently Google made availible various development tools for us admins to test the performance of our site regarding the Google rankings and search optimization.

I did experiment with these tools on a site of Muse, I've done over the past 6 months, and it returns several mistakes that have JS script issues, HTML - Particually on mobile.

    Links to tools:

    https://developers.Google.com/speed/docs/insights/about

Overview of page Speed tool seems not regconise optimized Mobile presentation of the Muse site, but instead shows a preview of the desktop version, even if when browsing on a device mobile, mobile optimized layout loads very well. URL: www.larasclinic.com (Built & last published with MUSE 6.0)

The tool returns several mistakes with suggestions of bugs, which some seem to fixed code. Here is an example:

-Eliminate the render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in the above content both

Your page has 1 blocking of script resources and 3 blocking of CSS resources. This causes a delay in the rendering of your page.

Optimize CSS delivery of the following:

So my questions to the team is...
    Q. how much of these patches as a user of Muse can I make myself to make sure that the site is as strong as possible, SEO by avoiding these mistakes of Google test?

And what features are coming to Muse to optimize the output code and SEO in the future?

I've seen all the recent tutorials on SEO, but it would be good to see a more in depth Google Search Ranking one and how to optimize sites Web of Muse.

    All responses appreciated.

    See you soon,.

    Robbie.

Page Speed is a tool for measuring the factors that contribute to the performance of loading a web page page. She has actually nothing to do with Search Engine Optimization or your ranking in Google.

If your concern is page load time, there are a lot of various useful tools available. However, most big changes in page load performance come to reduce the amount of content on a page and make sure all images are properly size and coded (the latter being something that muse especially takes care of you), and not the level type of changes recommended by PageSpeed. In many cases PageSpeed will list a page of changes where many or most is valid, but the investment to make all would be large and the net gain in page load performance would be very small compared to other types of changes that could / should be made.

There are two main factors that contribute to where your page ranks in Google for SEO (from a very simplified view). The first is the content of your page (s) correspond to the search expression specific anyone is entered into Google. And the second is the 'popularity' your site is measured mainly by how many other sites/sources contain links to your pages compared to the popularity of other sites that have a similar to the search expression correlation.

A course of 60 seconds on SEO is:

    (1) search pick expressions 3 ~ you want to optimize for. Then work to have these phrases and words in phrases appear regularly in the content of your pages, paying special attention to the names of files .html, names of image files, topics (marked with h1, h2, etc. tags), your domain name, the image's alt text, page titles, the text content of the actual pages, etc..

    (2) take advantage of Twitter, Facebook, Blogs in your industry, etc. to generate interest in your site and thus to generate links to your site.

    (3) submit your sitemap.xml to Google using Google Webmaster tools so that they are aware of your site and more likely to re - index rather sooner than later.

There are a lot more referencing, but it's a start. PageSpeed is not where you want to be if your goal is to improve the referencing.

  • Is possible with Flash content SEO?

    Hello

My problem is this... I was told that flash sites was not the quality of the Search engine optimization, but for me, it's B.S. Because search engines use meta tags and source code to look for keywords. So why a flash site would miss it? Or I'm wrong, EFF is based on tags Meta and the Source and the question of whether the flash is used or not, it doesn't have anything to do with the EFF.

    Thanks, Mike

Sujatha PJ edited Adninjastrator post consolidates the advice given on this for a response from a snapshot for this issue:

    Reference:

http://www.Adobe.com/devnet/SEO.html . for more information about Flash and SEO technical, issues, strategies (proposed by Monique CS)

    http://blog.deconcept.com/2006/03/13/modern-approach-Flash-SEO/ (suggested by mikerss)

And read this post from Adninjastrator:

I'd be careful while relying a lot on 'Off page' SEO for Flash using the directory link. In my opinion, they are a scam "linking farms" that offer little or no real value to the search engines.

The best way to provide 'Off page' linking is to include a link to your site on other Web pages whose content is compared to the content on your site to rank high... as this Forum for example, or other reports Articles and news related topics covers your site.

Compare the value of a Web page like that (which contains a detailed discussion of the theme of your site)... compared to a website in the sole purpose of being a farm of links... little or no real content, just a link system.

Good SEO with Flash is NOT so difficult, and has been a 'best practice' for many years already.

    To your comment:

If you think that Flash is a bit bad for SEO, it's time to dispel this MYTH!
If, in certain circumstances, I'll use Flash instead of just HTML, because then I'll have better SEO than with just one HTML.

    http://www.worldbarefootcenter.com/

World Barefoot Center link in the post above is an example. View the source code and you see a few paragraphs of the text as well as the normal HTML links... but what is displayed is the version the image Flash and Flash links.
The customer has provided work for the page... and that's what they wanted to use a .jpg image. Well Yes, that could be done in HTML, but it would be virtually invisible to Google. So instead I turned the image into a Flash .swf and used swfobject to display the Flash. SWFObject allows you to create an alternative content inside of the

that also holds the Flash .swf, then when the page is loaded, it detects if the browser has the Flash Player. If so, it just displays the Flash content, otherwise it displays the replacement content. Given that almost everyone has the Flash Player, for most people the Flash version of the
    will be displayed.
    Alternative content for which
can be any text ordinary HTML, images, multimedia, links, etc., everything that you would use if you were not using the Flash. Now, the best part is that the replacement content can be "over the top" in what concerns the optimization for SEO, because we won't see most of the viewers.
Here's another example of SEO with Flash... once again, the page is just a single image provided by the customer:
    http://www.ksowetsuits.com/
View the source code. The alt content is paragraph after paragraph of information on the site, including lists and links. If it was just the HTML code, it might be kind of a boring home page. But for SEO, I can go "over the top" in the promotion of the site, given that most viewers will never see that part... but it's all indexed by search engines. The end result is BETTER referencing using Flash than just HTML.

On another Web site, a Flash video is displayed, the alt content is the narration of the full text of the video. Now how many people take the time to read that if they could just watch the video instead? better yet, SEO with Flash than without. In fact in one case we had the first page of this narrative video search result within 4 hours of the display of the page.
Another site with a Flash video, the alt content is another video, but a .mov version, which will be, indeed playing Flash video on the iPhone (not possible you say?). Well, since the iPhone doesn't have Flash Player, it just displays the video .mov version, while everyione else sees it the Flash version.
Anyway, if the Flash is part of your Web development, you should look into using swfobject and content alternative.
