seproj to lvproj

Hello

I need a file *.seproj in the *.lvproj file. Someone send me this file and asks me to watch it, and I'm not able to open this file. I have labview 8.5.1. If someone can change this file which would be big or made me know how to open this with 8.5.1

Thank you

Nitin

Cannot open a file *.seproj using LabVIEW.  You must SignalExpress.  SignalExpress may be present on your install it or LabVIEW DVD, but I think that didn't start happening until LabVIEW 8.6.0.  You can download the demo here.  This will give you all the features for a month and allow you to open and look at the project.

If you want to convert the * seproj in a LabVIEW file, use the SignalExpress code generation option (note that there are some cases where this will result in a 'blackbox' code generation that takes place essentially SignalExpress in a VI).  You may already be able to do this if you have the correct drivers installed.  "" In LabVIEW, check under Tools "SignalExpress ' convert a SignalExpress project...  If the menu item exists, you can generate code LabVIEW comes from the *.seproj file.

  • "It's better to pen for edit of .lvproj rather than ClearCase

I was told that it is better to open a file for editing .lvproj to source control or directory. Reason being it would help to ensure that LabView might experience changes that affect the other screws and also be better able to deal with the changes of names or relocations.

So if I open a VI from the project folder, and then double-click a sub - VI it contains, the Subvi shall enjoy the same protection, or should it also be opened from the project file?

    Thank you

    JVH

    Hi jvh,.

I imagine that the Subvi is the same instance within the calling VI being covered by the project, then it should produce the same result because the NCC affects the whole of the hierarchy within the project.  I found a few resources in the community OR (here) and with the help of LabVIEW 2009 (Source code for projects LabVIEW Control Configuration) which should be a great starting point for greater precision of the NCC with LabVIEW.

    I hope this helps!

  • launch of the Explorer error lvproj

    Hello

I use Vista SP1 32-bit 10 LV and it works OK for a month.

I was doing some storage project / renaming etc but when I tried to restart using a window of the Explorer and double click on the .lvproj file I dialog "Windows cannot find ' c:\.  (my path) \test.lvproj' I'm still capable of launching the project properly form the start window.

Now, I also get the same problem with a new project!

Any ideas how LabVIEW works properly with the operating system again?

  • How to change a file lvproj in LabVIEW?

    Hi all

I have a complex project with a number of specifications of generation.  Each of these build sheet has the inside version number in several places.  Opening each build specification takes looooong for LV to treat, so the chore of bumping the version numbers on this project is a major pain.

    It works:

    • Close the project

    • Open the .lvproj file in Notepad ++

    • Find and replace if necessary

    • Save the file

    • Open the project in LV

I just wrote a script from LV to do other things before generation and when I try to encode search and replace in labview (with reading from and writing to a text file), the project file will not be opened because it is corrupt.

I guess it's a matter of unicode, but I don't know how to fix it.  Any tips?

The XML code is still valid? I think you can tell by opening it in Internet Explorer. Simply make a copy of your .lvproj with the .xml extension and do a file/open in Internet Explorer.

How can you "Find and replace" in LabVIEW? You use the features in xml?

  • too large size of the seproj file

    Hello

I created the SignalExpress 2.5 project simple. I use this file some time and whenever I made a few changes, I simply saved this evolution.

Then I discovered that my *.seproj file size begins to develop. There are now 100 000kBytes and I don't know why!

Whenever I have only open (not run, just open) and save, it's bigger.

Is this a bug? I've been lookinmg in Tools/Options to check if Setup is OK and he couldn't find something that can help me.

Is there a way to "optimize/defrag/or what" to reduce the size of the file?

    Best regards

PS: attached is my zipped project file (size 2 700ko) when unzip you it there 100 000 kB

This is caused by a problem in an underlying component of NOR shared.
This component has been fixed and we will post a link when it is
    out.

To reduce your size, you will need to
Create a new project (.seproj) and recreate the content of the former
project.  You should be able to copy and paste your project steps
to another, but you have to re-create the data views.  Your file
size again increases with each new project backup until you
have the new version of the shared software component.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

  • the list of lvproj vi

I'm looking for a way get a list of the screws used in the lvproj file. Is this possible? I have features for vi calls made by a vi given but need to filter based only on the vi is used in a project.

Currently, I am forced to look through all my screws when that I care about are those referenced by a project.

You can do so by recursing through the children of the project. Joined a VI (LabVIEW 8.2) I had written to compare a project to a directory of files to see which files were missing from the project. You just obviously the high hald of the page.

Do with it as you wish. Just don't try to sell it as yours.

  • .lvproj to open in older versions of Labview

    Hi all

someone accidentally opens a file .lvproj in Labview 2013. However, I use 2012 and so I can't open it. How to restore it to the 2012 version so that I can open it?

    Thank you in advance!

.lvproj is just a text file, which you can open in Notepad.

Inside, there is a line that says "LVVersion ="8208000"

Change the number of what is present in a LV12 to a LVproj file version.

  • example of network queue.lvproj.

It is an example of lines 'queue.lvproj network' in 2011, which I believe is in error.

It shows two Clients TCP work outside the same queue, which means that both get the same data for work outside.

I think that the code in this example works because the queue depth is of one and two clients at the same time

access the queue which also indicates that the queue is not locked when a process is accessing/queue.

At the same time the attached example "LabVIEW Queuing.llb" makes more sense as a separate queue is open for each customer.

If one of you smart people can put me right on this I would be grateful.

    Thank you

    Mark

    Hey Mark,

While the queue.lvproj of network seems to send the same data to both receivers, the queue is actually slightly different times by two customers. You can observe this behavior by placing a VI waiting in the server and wiring while loop in a constant (I used 1000 ms). This will cause an element must be queued per second (if 1000ms is used). You can see the gap between the indicators of customer as they access the queue at different times. This is due to the fact that the queue is only to have an element added to every second while the withdrawal does not have a time constraint. Indeed, they work in the same queue, but they are not identical data, rather each of them removed about half of the elements that go into the queue.

Depending on the application, it may be desirable to have this behavior or the behavior shown by your EIS.

    Hope this helps,

  • DAQmx task: MAX or lvproj?

    Experts,

What are the benefits to declare tasks DAQmx either in the lvproj or Max?

My question because I'm calling a VI of TestStand test, and when the DAQmx task constant is declared in the project (lvproj) which holds the criterion VI, it does not perform properly, saying can't find the reference or something.

If I change the DAQmx task to be a global task in MAX everything works as expected.

What is the best practice to do this kind of things?

    Thank you very much

    LR2

TestStand does currently not support execution of VIs a project. So unfortunately, we expect the behavior that you see where to call a VI that uses a DAQmx task defined in a project does not work. For now, if you do want to keep your configuration of the task outside the source code and you want to use these task for TestStand, you must store the Max.

We are looking for by adding support for the performance of screw a project in a future version of TestStand.

  • Version no time real need for STM distributed Clients.lvproj example

    Hello

I'm looking at the example of distributed STM Clients.lvproj. However, I do not have access to a real-time system, I can't see the cRIO Controller 1 and Controller 2 elements cRIO. If I understand correctly, the Receiver.vi of the host is the server application, cRIO controllers must be customers. Specifically, I'm looking for the loop sending UDP messages to the host Receiver.vi, which is waiting for UDP messages systems of online.

I noticed that the UDP in the Receiver.vi of host loop corresponds to listening and Commands.vi recognize in the Messaging.lvproj spread of STM. I guess that Commands.vi Broadcast contains the UDP code that is used in the cRIO controllers, but I can't guess this example what is actually sent back in the distributed clients.lvproj STM example.

I would be grateful, if someone would kindly or convert one of the cRIO controllers in a version that is running on a system windows or just simply send me a copy of the UDP loop that is in there. Thank you very much for your help.

Could you give a link to the project to which you are referring?

You can open the screw in real time without the RT toolkit, you can just open them directly from the target of RT in the project. Opening from the operating system (IE, a double click on the file) or their opening from the file-> the menu open in LabVIEW works perfectly. In addition, moving to display files in the LabVIEW project might allow you to see (I'm just guessing, but it's worth a try).

  • lvproj have several files of dependencies

    Hi all

I don't expect that a single highest file group dependencies, but there are three, can someone tell me how to move two of these files in the dependencies? Thank you very much!

If they are a VI dependencies in the project, delete them from the project and they will automatically appear in the dependencies.

That said, I try to minimize VI which usually appear in the outbuildings, I want to follow in the project and consider VI in the dependencies to be 'lost '.  There are of course exceptions, I left the dependencies which lie in VIlib, userlib or instrlib.

    Kind regards

  • 'Run VI opening' lvproj does not work

Here's the Setup: I do a VI that reproduces a test model (vilib) and he has associated specifications of construction within a project. My idea is to have a VI user (developer) opens and presents a dialog box (select model, enter a name for the new test, GO). Ideally this VI will simply work the opening.

If I create a VI and define its execution proerties on "Run when opened" and open it from the browser to the OS file, the VI behaves as expected: it runs. If I open the VI of any where within a project, it does not work. Why would it be? Is there a solution?

Alright lets take a deep breath...

Warning, the following is my opinion based on my knowledge of LabVIEW and not the inner workings of the NC, I may be wrong about why the decisions were made:

This feature in my opinion was put for many years, as a cheap way and dirty to make it appear as if a VI is executable code (which is sorta maybe but should not be treated exclusively as).  Years if you had a code and you wanted a user to double click on an icon and have, it starts running you'd make an EXE.  Although necessary the application Builder which was extra money and it was a decent amount of steps involved.  New LabVIEW users complained that it was too difficult and he wanted a way to simply double click on a file and that it is then NOR added to this function.  NOR tried also makes it easier to do by adding additional items in the Tools menu to eliminate steps.  Now if you double-click a VI with nothing open, who has run when open setting on, it would be open and run in LabVIEW.  Running as an application source code has several pitfalls and issues, and in other languages (no scripting) that would not be tolerated.  But it was a hacky way to satisfy beginners of LabVIEW.

LabVIEW has subsequently obtained projects and an easier way to make EXE (always requiring the application Builder).  Now using the source to a project, looked and behaved more as a source in other text-based languages.  Opening in this respect a VI would be the equivalent of opening a text file in Notepad.  And given the behavior of open text and have it automatically start running from your source would be a bad thing.  The State of the source can be easily changed which is one of the reasons why binarys must be used in these situations.

So essentially, this feature is old and broken.  Should not probably exist at all, and the fact that there is NO bend to the will of those who don't know not what was best for the language as a whole.  This feature must either be removed all together, or be updated to run in a project which I hope I made clear is probably not the best solution.  A third option would be to simply update the documentation indicating the current behavior.

If you want to run a VI opening this feature, but open the VI project.  Instead simply open the VI of your Explorer of files, or file > open in LabVIEW.  Opening a project is indicative of the IDE you try to change the source, in which case it does not run when opened.

The good news is that neither has a place where you can suggest new features or improvements for LabVIEW.  If there are a people who agree with your new idea they kudo it and enough Bravo causes OR to examine these features.  If it is important for you, and there is no suitable work around, I'd make a post here.

  • LabVIEW FPGA SPI accident - SPI OR IP address for example - R series OR

    Hello

I am trying to run the series R - sample project NI SPI FPGA Simulation.lvproj that comes with the SPI IP OR on a real FlexRIO FPGA SMU-7976R target with an attached digital adaptation NI 6581 B Module. The example is for a PCIe-7841R but I wore during my target FPGA, follow these steps and made additional changes to try to make it work with my set-up. I learned that FlexRIO FAMs CLIPs do not work with nodes in office had so I know I can't simulate the project originally planned so I will try to use FPGA to e/s node host side (open FPGA vi reference) to implement the actual hardware.

My first question concerns my configuration of the adapter module e/s and selection. I added the IO Module (NI 6581 B: NI 6581 B channel) for my project and selected the channels as shown in the table below. I have a real physical hardware connection as described below using two NI SHC68-C68-D4 cables and a break-out Board.

I changed the names as well:

I selected these DIO channels because I wanted the DDCA connector to be the master and the DDCB connector to be the slave. In addition, in this CLIP every eight channels of i/o has a write enable signal. I have not used the Port configuration because I needed 4 available DIO channels and I saw DIO0-3. Is my logic of selection of channel vs correct Port here?

Following the same strategy that examples FlexRIO/NI6581B, I changed the FPGA.vi to include initialization outside of timed loops:

And in the Host.vi I have a node reference FPGA and wired loops of feedback accordingly:

When I compile the FPGA and try to run Host.vi LabVIEW inevitably crashes with Crash Reporter below and must restart:

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here? My guess is that it has something to do with the CLIP/IOModule. Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Scott

    Hi Scott,.

I suspect that the problem might be related to the fact that your node open FPGA VI reference is in the while loop and trying to open a new FPGA reference at each iteration.
If you move outside of the while loop, it does not solve the crash?

On channel vs port question, your logic seems reasonable to me, but I recommend to try it since this feature could depend on device.
