  For reasons of confidentiality, Apple doesn't want you to access specific information of any peripheral such as MAC IMEI, UDID, address, serial number, etc and has been remove support for this kind of information the SDK for awhile now.  Your application will be rejected if you try to use private methods, that's probably what they were talking about.

  Even if you would be able to read the key to series of windows 7 that appears at the bottom of the unit, this will not help you will activate another Win 7 system.
  It is an OEM key that belongs to the preinstalled image and does not work under the other system.

  My title says it all. I have an old HP laptop that they do not send to restore the disc more (I don't know yet I had one; his old laptop from my brother) and I have an installation disc for my new PC. I have a Windows XP Home edition SP2 installation disc. However, as the hard drive of my laptop broke down, I don't know what version of windows it was. I think it should have been an OEM version and the sticker says it was Windows XP Home Edition.

  Now, anyway I tried to install my installation on laptop computer disc, offering series of laptop computer but now it asks me to activate. Will it work if I activate it?

  Unless you are lucky enough to know someone who has a generic OEM drive, which you can borrow, I don't see a practical solution for you.  I advise you to spend the money to buy one, even if you could find one to buy from a reliable source (not eBay!).  Although a generic OEM disc should work with your product key, there is no guarantee that it will work with your product key.

  If your laptop can be retrieved through a restore partition, and you can't borrow a disc that will work with your product key, then you have pretty much exhausted all reasonable or practical options.

  I finally did! I borrowed a copy of a generic OEM drive, through activation and it is!

  Now I've done could you help me more? Say now, I returned the drive OEM back (don't want to make an illegal copy) and want to be able to use my current system installed to generate a system disk that will allow me to avoid all the problems I've had up to now. What would you recommend? I've read a few articles on other forums (I did some research!) but is a little confusing. I hope you could help.

• Serial number and lightroom 6

  I have a plan with adobe and download all the updates, but have not updated for a while. right now I use LR5. I tried to upgrade the other day, at LR6 repeatedly, and the download crashed every time. I spent most of yesterday trying to get support from adobe, and even they have not been able to understand or the other. What does not occur if it's my catalog has been updated, but without LR6 I can't access it because the catalog is now too new for the LR version, I have at my disposal. My question is should I update LR 6, because I don't have it, and even if I asked it adobe did not it me my serial number? I was wondering if this could still be the problem, as someone at - it ideas I can try. I tried the update via the Cloud creative and autonomous, but neither have worked.  I use a Mac thanks

  You have subscribed to the CC in Lightroom, but you do not use? You always use 5 Lightroom?

  Even though Lightroom upgrades your catalog file to Lightroom 6/Lightroom CC 2015, your Lightroom 5 catalog is unchanged and still usable in Lightroom 5.

  In addition, I think that your post is confusing to me, I don't really know what the problem is or what you're trying to say. The catalog can be upgraded to a Lightroom CC 2015 catalog, if you were not using Lightroom CC 2015. Are you sure you don't have the 5 Lightroom and Lightroom CC 2015 installed?

  My computer crashed, I had a new hard drive put in, and when I try to reinstall my CS4 update it asks me to enter a valid serial number for the product. I put in the number on the box and I get an error code that it does not. So I wonder if I want to buy a serial number online or my end user license agreement. I've been going round in circles with phone calls and Web sites for days now and have got no where. When I call Adobe, they tell me the product is too old and I need to find the answers online. Well, it's overwhelming and confusing! I want to just reinstall my software. I can't afford an upgrade right now. Can someone tell me the steps I must take to reinstall? Thank you!

• Failed to register the serial number for my Adobe Photoshop CS6 ID

  I have a copy of Photoshop CS6 extended, that I installed it on a desktop and a laptop about 3 years ago.  I am trying to replace the old laptop with a new one.  I deactivated and removed the old laptop of Photoshop and installed successfully on the new.  It is approved and works now.

  However, I seem to not be able to save to my Adobe ID this copy of Photoshop was purchased boxed with distribution medium of DVD, without going through the download of Adobe, shaped so I have no purchase or download history associated with my identification code Adobe section "Registered products" web site says "you have not saved products.  But when I try to use 'Save an older product', it rejects my serial number as invalid (with or without a hyphen).  I get the message "Please enter a valid serial number.

  Now, I just use this serial number to install Photoshop on the new machine.  It must be valid; the installer must have checked before proceeding with the installation.  The installer asked me to connect to my Adobe ID, and her newly installed Photoshop has already activated the first time I ran it, then Setup must have also selected using my identification code Activation Adobe should not have the effect side to record the serial number of my Adobe ID?  Besides, shouldn't it have saved buying 3 years ago when I first installed it on both original machines?

  In any case, it seems that I can't register this serial number manually, nor is it automatically register during installation and authorization.  So how * can * register the SN for my Adobe ID?

  Update: problem solved.

  Sheena from Adobe raised the issue in question.  The Adobe ID of a member of the purchasing management of my business, which of course also managed buying and registered this copy had already been registered.  So I do not need to save it and cannot in any way.

  A suggestion to Adobe web site developers: If someone tries to enter a serial number that is already registered to someone else, the error message should say something like "this serial number is already registered.  What he says now is "Please enter a valid serial number" without explaining why the existing number is not valid, and it is easy to interpret this message saying that the serial number is not a good Photoshop serial number at all.  That's why I thought it was a problem to end Adobe rather than looking for someone within the organization who had already registered.

  (Yes, it would have also been nice if company internal communication told me who managed the purchase, and that they had already recorded this serial number.  But everyone is busy, and I do not have this information, then all I had to work with, it was the (confusing) error message).

Ive double checked the number, but it does contain all the letters according to the Troubleshooting FAQ. It does not say the serial number in my manage page Adobe ID tho. Source of confusion.   It would seem that your serial number should work - but if not, then you must contact Adobe directly on this issue (as we here on these public forums can help with that).

  Is what version of LR?

  And if you get a message, what is it exactly? (try Googling that)

• How to find the serial number for Lightroom 6 autonomous

  I just bought a stand-alone version of Lightroom 6 complete installation in a box retail and try to install it on a Windows machine.

  The installer is one displayed a screen with 6 small boxes where I enter the serial number.  This file on the DVD provided says "You can find the serial number of 24 digits (e.g. 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000) on the back of your door-DVD".  I guess that means that the white paper envelope which contained the DVD.

  There is no number of 24 digits on the envelope.  The back of the envelope contains a small sticker on the lower right corner with two lines.

  -The first line contains a start with the number 9 eight-digit number.

  -The second line contains a mix of 30 letters and special characters starting with DVS/A, LTRM, 6.0, etc.

  (I did not provide the full character set snacks is a unique code for this DVD.)  Please let me know if it needs more.)

  The installation program will accept only characters alpha, only numbers.  Could you please tell me how to locate the 24 digit number he needs.  I can't find it on the envelope.  The box of the product has an Adobe sticker o back, with multiple numbers, but none is a 24 digit number.

  Found the number on the secondary area containing the DVD.

  What is confusing is yesterday I installed Photoshop Elements and the serial number sticker was on the back of the envelope of white paper, not the box insert, so that's where I was initially looking for her.  It's just the opposite for Lightroom.  My suggestion would be to do the things constantly between products.

• Why Lightroom keep request serial number?

  So I got this invitation code to get a free copy of Lightroom with my Leica camera, and you the box says that it includes 5 Lightroom, I was taken in a CC with Lightroom at the place. Nothing wrong with what I thought, so I downloaded, installed and started. Works perfectly fine, but every time I have open Lightroom again it says im to test and keep asking for a serial number. The download page noted that I don't need the entire series and I can just use it by connecting you with my AdobeID newly implemented, what I was doing.

  So, I missed something, or why is Lightroom still on trial? I never got a series entry, only the Redemption Code that says that I do not need a serial number.

  Please download lightroom 5 Download Photoshop Lightroom and install it on your computer. Then you can activate the product using the serial number.
