  Have you purchased directly from Adobe or from an authorized dealer? If so, contact customer service .  Proof of purchase would be useful.

  If you bought it from a third party, Ebay or Craigslist, you may have received a serial number hacked or passed around that Adobe has taken and blacklisted.  Adobe will not help you.

  I feel like I spent it or should I say lost my whole day on Adobe cat just tell them that I have to post on the forum, because they are not able to help me.

  I bought a version Windows of CS4 in 2009 and recently had a hard drive failure I have to reinstall everything. How can I make it work again now that the serial number is no longer valid. Team Adobe cat said that the team here will be able to send me a link to a download or something. Feeling extremely frustrated and you want just my computer to be all back to normal, so I can get back to work. Help, please!

  I bought and downloaded CS 4 in 2009 from Adobe and use it on multiple computers, downloading from Adobe, like old computers became obsolete or has crashed.  I have now a new machine, but when I try to download CS 4 on www.adobe.com he said that my serial number is not valid, even if I got the number of the Adobe site and I m positive, I entered the right number.  I'm now retired from my professional photography studio, so I'm not interested in upgrading to a new version of Photoshop since I photograph only my adult children and grandchildren to have fun now.

  If it fails to download, then you can also try to download the demo version of the software through the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.  It does not require the serial number for download (if I remember correctly)...

  you will need serial number of your previous version.  There is no work around.

  There may be ways to recover serial number depending on whether lr5 is currently installed on a computer (old) or you bought lr5 where saved from adobe.

  This message indicates that the license you have (serial number) is a the CS6 upgrade version... you must provide information about the older product that you upgraded.  There should be a drop down menu where you can select the older version and a section to get the older version serial numbers.

  It shows the message you have purchased an upgrade license, and it asks you to select the older version that you upgraded and provide older version serial number as proof that you are eligible to use the upgrade.

  It seems that you have installed Acrobat XI pro as an upgrade and an upgrade you will need a serial number for a product older Acrobat X, etc. 9:

  Also, I checked with your Adobe ID on the forums and I can only locate XI of Acrobat pro upgrade recorded, please check if you have registered an earlier version of Acrobat on some another email to get this serial number.

  I installed from a version upgrade, but I'm recovering from disk crash so I don't have a previous version.

  I know there are way to recover/override as has already happened.

  The installation process is supposed to give you a place to enter your previous serial number if the previous version is not actually on the computer

  Hello, finally I could install it. Chat support has been helpful and guided me to download and run the AdobeCreativeToolCleaner. That's all. Now it is in place and works very well.

  Your CS6 must have been bought an upgrade.  He asks you to select/provide is the name/serial number of the previous version, you bought that qualifies you to install and activate the CS6 upgrade version... it would probably be CS5.5 CS3.
