Series A satellite with Vista stopped sees any DVD/CD inserted

My Toshiba with Windows Vista laptop suddenly stopped see that no matter what DVD/CD inserted, and Device Manager all the time gives the message that the software may not be installed correctly due to the error in the configuration.

I updated Windows and tried to download the new driver from Internet, but nothing works.

The Device Manager has a yellow opposite sign MAST * A DVD-RAM (that's the name of the device) and external equipment DVD I tried to use. Don't know what to do.

Did you get any description of error code? For error example code 39 or something like that? Thank you for posting more information, it might be useful.

However, I found this thread very similar-themed:

    Hello
I just finished backup my laptop and suddnely Firefox, chrome stopped and Word.

I use toshiba a300 with 32-bit windows visa.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

There is no connection between all of these applications.
Mentioned work as stand-alone software apps and each software can be uninstalled and installed separately.
I think you need to uninstall these software and after having cleaned the Vista using CCleaner (freeware software) install the software again.

  • my computer acer laptop with vista stops automatically after using it for a while...

anyone with any suggestions why this is so... I change my hardware, and I got service pack 2 installed.

    Is vista home edition.

    Hi oumzin

    1. have you modes sleep or hibernation, working on the computer?
    2. during how long have you had this problem?
    3. what changes did you do before the show?
    4. do you have the question start after the installation of service pack 2?

    Method 1:

You can check if the problem happens again in safe mode. In safe mode; you have access to only the drivers and base files.
Check out the link to start the computer in safe mode and then check-
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 2:

If you are not faced with the question in safe mode, then you can check in a clean boot state. To perform the clean boot follow step 1 mentioned in the article below, and then try again check in the clean boot state -

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If the problem is resolved check which service non-Microsoft is the source of the problem; referring to article and following the other steps.

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    b. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option and then click OK.

    c. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite M70 - recently stopped burning CD player

    Hello

I have a satellite with a CARPET m70 * a dvd/cd burner. Recently it stopped burning CDs. Strangely, she still burns dvd's without any problems. Depending on the software of engraving, he said:
    Nero: "illegal block size.
Just sonis gives a read error and tells me to clean the cd.

This happens at the time where the real fire begins. I can hear the CARPET * a switch, then it gives this error.

I tried the simple solutions like reboot and change the brand of cd. I have also reinstalled the software and different programs to burn (including windows explorer). None of this has changed anything.

Any ideas on what could be the problem and how to fix it?

  • I can take it off my laptop Satellite P200 Vista - 1 g 8?

    Hi guys,.

Spent time looking on the internet for this but had no chance. Title says it all really. I have a copy of XP ready but am not sure it is a good idea to remove vista as I did recently on a Packard Bell pc (I know I know it's a completely different product) and she went terribly wrong as the XP installation program cannot read disks sata/searched and as I have no disk to add RAID drivers as well as the PC is in limbo as I refuse to Vista back on it.

Then... Wouldn't be ok? And if so I am able to get the drivers and software for all the 'gubbins' he's come up with, with vista.

Any help would be graciously received.

Thanks in advance if you want to help me, and if you do not have... Well I hope you can sleep at night ;)

  • Satellite P with Vista series load very slow on start up

My computer takes 4-5 minutes to load completely when I swiftch on, the office immediately loads but then seems to doing nothing for a few minutes then taskbar and sidebar start charging.

    Is this normal on Vista?

Tried to stop unnecessary programs from startup in the taskbar but makes no difference.

Anyone have any suggestions or help.

    Thank you

    Hello

I assume you are using the Vista operating system. Am I wrong?
Well, the Vista operating system needs a lot of material resources like OS first, that is to say XP.

This is why all computers work slower with Vista for another OS that is XP but I think it is nothing exceptional, due to the fact that the Vista eat resources of the computer due to new features such as Aero, new photo and video files, Direct10X, etc..

What you could do is update the memory which allows for slightly better performance, but you shouldn't t expect a big difference.

  • Satellite A205 - Vista backup center and restoration with a WiFi hard drive

I use Vista Ultimate Center of backup and restore to back up hard drive of my laptop Satellite A205 series on a wireless external hard drive. The external hard drive (which is formatted in NTFS) is directly attached (via USB) to my wireless router Belkin low, instead of being connected directly on my laptop.

I know that this WiFi network hard drive is recognized by my laptop series Satellite A205, because it appears as "Drive Z:" when I click on 'My Computer'... but the version of "Backup and Restore Center" which appeared on my laptop Satellite A205 only allows backup of DVD or directly - connected hard drive not the readers of (strange for a laptop with built-in WiFi) network.

By contrast, the version of the backup center and restaurant located on my computer to my lists one office (also Vista), drives on the computer at first - but it includes a "more:"hyperlink by which someone with rights Admin can click and access the network drives. "

This "more:"hyperlink does not appear on the version of the backup center and restore on my laptop Toshiba Satellite 205. "

I can't even someone at Microsoft to talk to me without first
    $ 69.95 for the 'privilege '.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi irsharp23,

    > but the version of "Backup and Restore Center" which appeared on my Satellite A205 laptop only allows backup of DVD or directly - connected hard drive not the readers of (strange for a laptop with WiFi built-in) network.
    Laughing out loud
I think that's not a junk Toshiba. Center backup and restore is designed by Microsoft and Toshiba has nothing to do with it. So I think you need to get in touch with the guys at Microsoft to ask for a solution, or there may be an update for this tool.
    Did you check that?

Moreover, why n t connect the external DRIVE directly to your laptop drive? I don't see a reason to connect such a disc HARD backup over the network, because this image of backup can be used only on your laptop.

Alternative, I can recommend Acronis True Image to record images of backup on the network or if you use Microsoft SyncToy to synchronize your files between laptops and network. ;)

  • Satellite A100-011 with Vista: DVD-ram UJ-850 s can not burn DVDs dual layer

    Hello

cannot find answers to my problem, so start a new topic.
    Having Satellite A100-011 with Vista preinstalled and Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ-850 s (firmware 1.10).

Recently installed Nero 7.5.9 and you want to burn DVD (6, 5 GB) media dual layer (Immation - Ritek).

First time Nero stopped with information: could not perform start of Disc At Once (without damaging the media).
After that, run Nero as Windows XP - SP2 program and burn half the disc (first layer), but when to start to burn the second layer (I guess), stop once again with the same error information (could not perform start of DAO).

Simple disc burning layer without problem.

Anyone any idea how to solve this problem?
    Thank you
    Luci

    Hello

tried to record double-layer of a different brand? Maybe you should try it, because sometimes certain brands are not really taken in charge or not very well. And check the toshiba (or google) pilot site for new drivers or firmware for this drive, sometimes that it really helps.

I think that the media are not really compatible, I ve read some similar problems in the roxio forum and they solved by using another brand.

Would be nice if you give some information on this case... :)

    Welcome them

Unfortunately, it does appear that an update of the BIOS and the driver of BT has been published for the Satellite M50 PSM53.
