Server for Shockwave files support

OK, I've finally finished my Adobe Captivate project and is trying to upload it to a server so I can visualize and refine the finished product.  But I'm running into a major issue.  My webhost is saying that they don't support Shockwave files.  I have download the required files but just get a blank page.  SWF is the only format that allows the right of interactivity?  Does anyone have any ideas on how I can jump over that last hurdle and make my project go live?  Thank you!

I agree with the overall approach of HTML as a solution first tent.

However, on the technical level of the files 'SWF' are not the same as "Shockwave" files in all cases.

There are two drives Adobe - Flash Player and Shockwave Player.

Flash Player, of course, published from Flash content plays.

Shockwave Player plays published content of the Director.

They are both, however, have their roots in the "Shockwave" of Macromedia technology and SWF means in effect "Shockwave Flash"...

I raise this issue just in case your hosting provider, for one reason or another, is not aware of the difference and has a policy against content produced with * Director * but not a policy against the host * Flash * content.

Probably unlikely, but I'd be curious to know why they do not allow their server deliver SWF content to users of their clients; seems a little draconian.

So just in case the HTML publication does not work for you, perhaps you can clarify the answer 'no Shockwave support' of your host (or find a less restrictive Web host)

  • use of the server for executable files VI

    Hi all

    I tried to find a good explanation and example usage of VIserver to launch executables on client PC (XP) via a LAN to a PC (Win7) process controller. Basically, what I found for the controller is specified in this code snippet:

    The following was placed in the .ini file of the target at the time of construction to allow VIserver using an executable file (?):

    Server.TCP.Enabled = True
    Server.TCP.Access = "' + * '"
    Server.TCP.port = 3364
    Server.TCP.ACL = "290000000A000000010000001D00000003000000010000002A10000000030000000000010000000000"
    Server.VI.Access =""
    server.vi.callsEnabled = True
    server.vi.propertiesEnabled = True

    If a reference to an instance of application LV is open on the computer command on a specified port, and then a VI reference target

    for the .vi file (another instance?) opens on the same target for manipulation of knot VI. So what was lost for me is the executable

    I am trying to run the file. May not be wired to the terminal way to "ref Open VI". This implementation requires the .exe version and the version of VI

    I am trying to run the code? I launched with success of executable files over a LAN using plink with a script file. Problem is that I can't find a way

    get the target executables once loaded. There is most likely a C solution for this (I'll take it if anyone knows!), but since has VIserver of tools

    to control the execution, I would use it. Also, I want to understand the version of VI of the programme and the .exe in this case (s) link

    Version. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Ben OK,

    Your messages made me a technique to load with distance and running an exe file, built in LV8.5:

    1. to load: the controller emits a "tasklist" command to a target. The objective produces an output file of tasklist which is read by the controller. If it concludes that the target is already loaded, the controller will execute it with an invoke command node 'run a VI '.

    2. If the target is not loaded, then a script file is executed on the target via plink of the controller. This command will also start running.

    3. all the subVIs must reside on the target, as you said, even if (as in my case), the target has no LV Developer Suite installed. I placed Traoré versions of files and folders to exe in the same folder.

    4. the .ini file in the compilation has changed as shown in the first post of this thread. No special settings were used in the compilation.

    This probably isn't the exact technique you had in mind, but it doesn't seem to work... Thanks again for your help.

  • Is that the compress/decompresss utility file supported by all types of window OS? or for some region the user install it?

    Hi all:

    Is the Compress/decompress utility file supported by all types of Windows OS (XP, VISTA, Windows 7)? or for some region the user install it?

    Any link from the website of Microsoft?

    I managed to get the guide from the Microsoft web site, but just a guide without a show of declaration of default installation during installation of the operating system.

    Windows Vista:

    Hello

    Compress and decompress are not a separate tool/utility to download and install in the computer. They have functions that come with these 3 operating systems. These features are available in Windows XP/Vista/7 from across operating systems.

    However, you can also use your favorite search engine for non-Microsoft applications to compress and extract files such as Winzip and Winrar.

    Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

    It will be useful.

    Hi Bobsirkus,

    The camera you have is compatible with the latest version of Lightroom, which is Lightroom 6/CC.

    Please see the list of the camera supported by Lightroom: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices

    You can use the DNG Converter, converts images and then import them into DNG in Lightroom.

    The file you are trying to open is (you can see from the name) a BMP, PDF files no file. Adobe Reader can only open PDF files, just so stop trying to open it with Adobe Reader. The app, users of Windows for BMP files is painting.

  • Problems to open PDF files after the upgrade of the file server for 2012 R2

    Hello

    This weekend we have improved our main Windows 2003 to 2012 R2 file server.

    Since the upgrade, users (including myself) cannot open a PDF of the file server.  If I double click on a PDF file, it opens as usual, but if I double click a different PDF, the acrobat reader flashes (in the Task Manager I can see another instance AcroRd32.exe starts and stops) but the second document does not open.

    If I close the first document and then try and open the other, and then it opens without any problem.

    This only affected the opening of files on the new file server, opening several files on a local disk is very good.

    If I disable 'enable protected mode at startup' then I can open several documents of the file server.  I would prefer not to have to do.

    Users are using Acrobat Reader 11.0.10 on 64-bit Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop.

    Does anyone have any ideas, it may be the cause?  And does anyone have one solution other than to disable the protected mode?

    Thank you

  • Just bought a Nikon d750 and confused about adobe LR4 and PS6 support for RAW files. I have 8.7 DNG, but I was wondering if LR and PS will import direct soon thanks for all the tips

    Just bought a Nikon d750 and confused about adobe LR4 and PS6 support for RAW files. I have 8.7 DNG, but I was wondering if LR and PS will import direct soon thanks for all the tips

    Support for the Nikon D750 was introduced in the last version of LR 5.7 and ACR 8.7 Novemder 18 2014.

    New updates for LR 4 were arrested when LR 5 was released on June 9, 2013. No other updates of bug fixes and new camera support.

    Nada, LR 4 will never support Nikon D750. The Nikon D750 was introduced on the market in September 2014 some 15 months after further development of LR 4 was arrested.

    You can use the Adobe DNG (free download for packing) program to convert your Nikon D750 Nef (raw) files in Adobe's DNG format which will allow you to import those into LR 4. This is the crutch provided by Adobe to allow the processing of raw files with versions out-of-date LR and ACR.

    You can also update the ACR for PS CS6 version 8.7 plugin that can also work with the raw files of the D750. For direct support in Lightroom, you will need to upgrade (paying) to version 5.7.

  • Bridge supports 16-bit for NEF files?

    Hi all!

    I'm a long-time user opening, but I plan to use in the future more to my selection and you place your order for my files and would like to make Raw conversion in Adobe Camera Raw.

    My files used in Aperture are "referenced", then only changes etc. will be stored in the form of additional file in the Aperture library. So I can work on the NAVE in Aperture files, but also within the CS4 (which gives me the changes in the form of additional file next to the photo file, it seems not to disturb the opening).

    So far so good. But now, I noticed that Aperture is to convert my 14-bit NEF files before working in a 16 bit file. I also can I export to 16-bit format, but not as a NAVE more. If I open the same file NAVE in Camera Raw, it seems to be only an 8-bit file.

    Is it possible that Adobe could change in a 16 bit. Or is it not important during this conversion in Camera RAW?

    Thanks for the tips

    In Camera RAW, you must choose 16-bit, click on the link below the image.

  • Assessment capabilities of Windows print server for a large company automated printing solution...

    Hello

    I need a solution to print server for a large organization. Need your help in evaluating Windows print management for this purpose.

    The case:

    A centralized system correspondence generation will produce a "zip of PDF files" to print in various branches around the world. I expect to send the zipOfPDF to a centralized, Windows print server. From there on, it should be forwarded to respective branch local windows print server. I expect the following system:

    1. the centralized windows print server must be able to read zipOfPDFs and associated metadata.

    2 centralized windows print server must be able to route (spool) the zipOfPDF to respective branches (metadata will include details of the branch). (Indicate if the custom coding is necessary for her or can be supported out of the box?)

    3. local windows print server receive the zipOfPdf and extract the metadata.

    4. extract the zip file and extract the files PDF.

    5 read the metadata and move to designated PDF printer files (metadata will be printer details)

    6 set the priority of print according to the metadata set. (The metadata will be priority printing details).

    7. create a record/report after printing the zipOfPDF.

    Indicate if

    1. it can be supported by the Windows print server instead of first? What operating system/printing system will be necessary?

    2. If so, is - all of this can be supported by out-of-the-box configurations?

    3. If no, what any custom coding may be needed and technology?

    4 propose a scheme of it if possible.

  • DEP stops my host server for windows

    A pop-up window shows, 'host server for windows has stopped working' and directs me to change DEP settings that do nothing at all, even after I have change the settings.

    Hello

    1. when exactly you receive the error message?

    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    Follow these steps:

    Method 1:

    Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that protects against viruses and other security threats by analyzing your programs to make sure that they use the system safely memory.

    If you choose to protect all programs, you can always turn off DEP for individual programs. If you think that a program does not run correctly when DEP is enabled, check for a compatible version of the DEP program or an update from the software publisher before you change your DEP settings.

    Change Data Execution Prevention settings

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-data-execution-prevention-settings

    Method 2:

    I suggest you to download and run the latest Microsoft security on your computer Scanner and check if it helps:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    Note: the data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 3:

    Follow these steps and check if that helps.

    Step 1:

    I suggest to start the computer in Safe Mode and check if the problem persists.
