Server VPN Setup

I have an old Mac Mini running 10.7.5 server and I'll try to get everything set up correctly, so I can use L2TP VPN and I tried the rest of this guide (https://macminicolo.net/lionservervpn) and I can connect when I'm on my internal network, but not over the Internet and I do not know (at least I hope) that it is something simple that I am wrong in my setup.

  • My internal home network use the IP range 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.200
  • All necessary ports are transmitted in both my router and firewall of the Mac
  • L2TP VPN Passthrough is enabled in my router
  • I installed for my Sophos antivirus, but I do not think that interferes with anything
  • I have the IP address range for the VPN to use as 192.168.2.100 - 192.168.2.105 (because this should be different that my network internal, right?)
  • If my NO - IP dynamic DNS host name is "xxxxxx.ddns.net" then what is the hostname must be set on in the server application, right?
  • When I try to connect to the VPN via Internet using my PC, I have be active in the newspaper and I have that at the bottom of the post

If there is no information there that I do not forget to add, please let me know

So, it turns out that it was a Windows problem, apparently I just need to make the adjustments detailed here (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202384) on my Windows PC and I was finally able to connect. I figured this out when I actually tried to connect to the VPN using my iPad and I saw that it connected without a problem, I just wanted to reply to my post wrap someone else has this problem and I hope that this post will help

    What can I do about?

    Thank you!

    Hello again,

Thanks, I solved this problem. This program installs 32-bit as the default value in the path of the folder. This is why it does not work when everyone works beginning... But there is a solution for this topic...

    Exactly the solution:

    Note:

SQLEXPR32. EXE is a smaller package that can be used to install SQL Server Express on 32-bit operating systems only.

The larger SQLEXPR. EXE package supports installation on 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems (WOW install).

  • Routing and Remote Access Server & VPN

We have Server Windows 2008 R2, which is our domain, but also DHCP server controller. On this server we have Setup RRA for VPN and it works fine. We had to stop our DC due to a failure and after I got the domain controller to the top and it is a problem for users that connect to the VPN.

When users try to connect to the VPN, it connects successfully. But they did not access network as usual. I looked in the VPN properties, and it receives an IP address of 169.254.xxx.xx which is not the correct network IP address. So while the user who is remote think they are connected, they are currently not connected.

Does anyone have advice what is the cause of this and how to troubleshoot or resolve?

  • Connected to Server VPN in Vista, but no sharing of files

I have a Vista VPN server running remotely.  My client is Windows Server 2003, and I want to access the files on the remote vista box.

This customer also has a VPN connection to another remote Windows Server 2003 box, which works correctly.

I can make the connection to the Vista VPN server successfully, but file-sharing does not work.  Still, file-sharing does not work when I turn off the other VPN connection.  I have completed virtually all settings, turned off the firewall in the Vista box.  Made sure IPv6 is not acting as a remote gateway... etc.  There are shared folders available in the vista box.

Interestingly, Vista server does no IPv4 or IPv6 connectivity under the status of the incoming connection, while the customer indicates that there was some data transferred.

Any ideas would be very appreciated.

  • AnyConnect VPN setup problem

Hi all, I'm going to have bad configure anyconnect VPN on my router. I'm CCENT pre level and especially followed a tutorial, but feel I'm missing something simple here.

It's a fairly simple installation on a Cisco No. 2851 - faces of a single interface my LAN 192.168.1.0/24, the other has a public IP address.

I created a network 192.168.2.0/24 VPN users, mainly to have phones Android connection of their mobile phone networks, and have access to the servers/security cameras/etc by using their local IP addresses. When my phone connects, it gets an IP address and is connected, but is not communicating with my LAN correctly.

The VPN client can ping 192.168.1.254 (the router's LAN IP) - but not the other devices on the network. However, the devices on my LAN can ping the VPN clients to their address 192.168.2.x.

Here's a copy of my current config, I have reorganized some elements with #s. Also pasted my ip sh road under him. Do not forget that I am a novice, please forgive the hack :)

    Hello

In the 7.x code all customizations without client was included in the running configuration.
However, referring to this document from cisco:- http://goo.gl/XRkrcO, you can see that this command has been deprecated in 8.X ASA codes.

The best way to configure the bookmarks will use the ASDM or create them on a server and then bring import them to ASA.

Why we can not create bookmarks CLI?

With the introduction of 8.x many more options have been added, allowing greater flexibility.  These new options would make the running configuration passes, so they were moved into separate xml files.  Indeed, it eliminated the ability to configure a list of bookmark via the CLI.

For more information on this discussion, please refer to this thread: -.

  • Unable to connect to server vpn behind ASA 5510 with windows clients

    Hi all

I've seen a number of posts on this and followed by a few documents of support on this issue, but I'm totally stuck now, nothing seems to work for me.

This is the usual scenario, I have a VPN windows 2003 Server sat on the lan deprived of our ASA 5510 firewall, and I try to get my Windows XP / 7 laptop computers to connect to it.

    Within the ASDM:

    (1) Server Public created for Protocol 1723

    (2) Public created for the GRE protocol Server

    3) created two public servers have the same public and private addresses

    (4) the foregoing has created config Public Private static route in the section NAT firewall

    (5) rules to Firewall 2 also created above on the external interface for both 1723 and GRE

When you try to connect, I get the following entry in the debug log.

    6 August 6, 2010 17:09:37 302013 195.74.141.2 1045 1723 ChamberVPN-internal built ride connection TCP 1889195 for outside:195.74.141.2/1045 (195.74.141.2/1045) to the inside: ChamberVPN-internal/1723 (XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/1723)

    but nothing else.

The server shows not attempting a connection so I think I'm missing something on the firewall now.

Also inside interface there is a temporary rule:

    Source: no

    Destination: any

    Service: IP

    Action: enabled

This should allow all outbound traffic only as far as I know...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

ASA newspaper indicates that the connection is interrupted because of "syn timeout. This means that asa receives no response from the Windows Server. Right now, we need to clarify some points.

1 - your vpn server committed a correct default gateway error or the path that lies in your fw interface asa.

is 2 - possible to start capturing packets on Windows Server. Hereby, we can get data flow information beetween client and server. And we can be sure that Windows Server wonders vpn.

    NAT (LUXCVGASA01i) 2 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0
    NAT 0 access-list sheep (LUXCVGASA01i)

    Any help is appreciated.

    -Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

Just had a chance to look through the Setup and I guess that configured nat is incorrect.

access-list extended sheep allowed any ip VPN_Pool 255.255.255.0
    NAT 0 access-list sheep (LUXCVGASA01i)
    NAT (LUXCVGASA01i) 2 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0

    Global (LUXCVGASA01e) 2 1.1.1.1

The access-list says sheep that ALL traffic goes to the pool of the VPN to go UN-natted. So, when you try to access the public ip address via the tunnel VPN, the traffic the ASA, ASA then performs a search destination NAT and matches the nat command "nat (LUXCVGASA01i) 0 access-list sheep." If the ASA detects a destination NAT translation, it will bypass route search and uses the destination NAT translation to determine the output interface (in this scenario, the output interface is LUXCVGASA01i.

So, to resolve this problem, change the acl sheep from "any to VPN_Pool 255.255.255.0" inside"to the network VPN_Pool 255.255.255.0.

clear xlate and re-initialization of the tunnel, and this should solve the problem.

Let me know if that answers your query.

    Kind regards

Try using the command "backup interface" on the secondary ISP interface.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/ASA/asa72/command/reference/b_72.html#wp1338585

You need to increase the level of security to 1 for this interface.

By default, EasyVPN uses the highest level of safety inside and the lowest outside.  Anything between the two must be set manually.  I assume you have an interior vlan defined but not added to the posted config.

  • AnyConnect VPN Setup Assistance

Hello world. I installed a new ASA to replace my current and need a bit of help with installing AnyConnect. I think I have everything set up correctly, until my exceptions NAT I can successfully connect to the ASA via the page without customer and the AnyConnect client, but can't pass the SAA, so I guess its exceptions NAT I was looking at both the ASA_cli.pdf but can't seem to nail down. It is not yet using the ASDM, which I don't usually do for VPN, as easy as asdm 6.1 statement.

On my current ASA, I know that I have an ACL called sheep. For reference, my internal networks is 10.0.x.x, and my ip for VPN users pool is 192.168.2.x.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

    .

Add DNS and WINS servers to corresponding Anyconnect group policy so that it is possible to clients when they connect. Also, make sure that the servers are accessible when connected via Anyconnect.

  • How to get rid of the Windows Server Post-Setup security updates after deployment of the model

    Hello

I installed w2003 from zero, configured and set as much as I could. When I rebooted the VM, it is online and ready to use. I converted it to the model. I've implemented the following personalization settings:

everything's fine, the virtual machine gets deployed perfectly, with the 1 question, it ends with

all security updates have been installed on the original vm (the one I did the model from) and the automatic updates on. The problem is obvious... Deployment + customization allows you to deploy the virtual machine in a few clicks without interacting with the operating system, but now I have to go and click on the Finish button for the virtual machine online. Does anyone have a quick remedy for that? Thank you

You must create a key in the Windows registry.
