  I admit, I made a huge mistake.

  I accidentally set the permissions to "refuse (full control)" for a partitioned drive D:\.

  This assumes that the only thing on the D: drive is given. Start the computer with a Linux Live CD/USB key and copy all data on D: on another hard drive (internal or external USB, it's not bad). Delete the partition with gparted while staying in Linux. So now that the drive is a white, gross dur.* shut down the computer and unplug it. Then boot into Windows. You should see the C:\ drive of course. Stop the computer again, then connect your new blank disc and boot into Windows.   * I hope I've interpreted your original post correctly and you have two physical hard disks. You wrote 'drive partitioned D:\ ". "so it is ambiguous to me. If you really have that one disc physics on which you have created multiple partitions you can try to make meanings (with the exception of the bit of course disconnect). I don't know if it will work then, but at least you'll have your data in any news for when you reinstall Windows.

  If you have installed * programs * on the D: drive then you can not do that and you have to reinstall Windows.

I was able to set up the database connection and test - retrieve a recordset with no problems.   So after a lot of noise and stress, I've finally isolated an interesing issue that occurs when you use the PDM defragments vi.

  For some reason, deframenting a PDM with the PDM file defragment vi in windows XP resets, file permissions to allow full access to:

  -Administrator

  -Administrators

  -SYSTEM

  and removes all other permissions...

  So, she removes the file "Full Access" permission for "Everyone", which is necessary to allow other computers on the network to change your files.

  This means that my satellite computers can no longer save on my server after I have defragment PDM files unless I have manually add a 'full access' for 'All' permission for all the tdms files.

  I think I have it solved. Here's what I did

  1. enable the system administrator account from command promt.

  2 log in as system administrator

  3. Select the Windows folder to the root of the installation

  4. open its security properties, click 'Advanced', go to the 'Owner' tab and click 'change '.

  5. Select 'Administrator' (not "Administrators"). Check the option "replace the owner of subcontainers and objects".

  I used the htmldb_Get successfully to populate other global variables and processes on request with onchange THAT JS call in the attributes of html form elements select list on the page. Later, I check the globals via the Session view and research on elements of Application.
