No sound after downgrading to XP SP3
Hello. I decided to downgrade to XP SP3 and everything works but the audio. I downloaded Lenovo program to search for the drivers and also these 2 files:
http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/MIGR-68359.html
http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-69108
The installation does not complete and I'm a bit lost here, any help would be appreciated
Model: 3000 J205 9686-43-S
After a month trying to reach technical support from Lenovo and have no response, I decided to try it with XP SP2 and driver with Lenovo on their web page works.
After sales technical service really suck!

I tried to install UAA audio bus driver first and then the driver of HDTV LSI etc. but still no sound. I spent several hours on this subject...
Peut - some kind soul please direct me on how to go about this case?
I remember that I was in a similar situation some two years back in an attempt to re - install Windows XP on another laptop from my friend. We install everything except the audio. Finally, the technician at the shop could install for us. Now I'm away from the place... So can not go and find out that the man how it install it. It was also a HP laptop only...
I would like to add that the mute button stays red and does not respond when you press.
There is nothing about Audio in Device Manager... Maybe that's the problem.

Satellite Pro U400 - no sound after downgrading for Win XP
Hello
I hope someone can help!
Have just downgraded from Vista to XP pro U400, downloaded all the drivers I could get on the Toshiba site but I still have PCI Device and unknown device drivers are not installed for.
Think it must have something to do with the sound when I tried to load sound divers, he came up with "cannot find media device" If don't have her no more, anyway don't know what to do next.
Thank you for the charges
Hello
This theme has been discussed here many times.
It s a general problem with Windows XP!
If you n t install the patches MS as KB888111, KB835221 and then you would not get the sound. You must install these cites patched before install you the audio driver!
If the driver has been installed you must remove it first before the patches are installed.
PS: This MS patches are part of the SP3 too!

Satellite L30 PSL33E: No sound after downgrade to XP
My laptop (Toshiba Satellite L30 PSL33E) provided with Windows Vista but it is very slow with this OS and one of my friends downgrade my OS XP.
But now, the built-in speaker does not work. Where can I find driver for them.Excuse me for my English, but I never learn this language :) sorry ;)
Hello
Solution is simply ;) you must first install the Microsoft patches (patches) KB888111 and KB835221.
These two hotfixes must be installed before you try to install the audio driver!
Here's my advice;
First, install * KB888111, KB835221 * and then restart the device and after this short intervention, install sound driver that was downloaded from the European driver Toshiba page.I hope this helps you.
Best regards

Satellite Pro L40 - sound after installing Windows XP SP3 driver
Hello
I bought the Satellite Pro L40 about 6 months ago and the speed of the laptop is too slow with windows Vista. So I decided to install an old copy of windows XP that I had purchased earlier. I updated the windows SP3 installation before installing the drivers.
Now, all the drivers have been installed correctly except the audio driver. I downloaded the XP version of the driver on the toshiba site, but it did not work. So I though that maybe the vista version would work, so I downloaded that. But that no longer works.
Can someone suggest a solution where I can get the audio driver to work? Preferably without having to get the reinstalled windows again.
Please help me...!
Thank you

XP SP3 no sound after reinstalling the operating system
Hello
I have re-installed the SP3 of XP on my Toshiba laptop and it has no sound after that. You may have installed the operating system in "secret" mode and so there is no sound.
I checked the audio settings are that all settings are correct.
Is it possible to go back again to the sound.
Kind regards
R
Hi RAJRAU,
You can try to check if the onboard sound is disabled by checking the advanced settings of the BIOS.
If so, try allowing it and see if it helps.
You can see the manual of the system manufacturer or contact the system manufacturer for more information on how to make the changes in the BIOS.
Note: Change to the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
You can also read the following article and try the steps to solve the sound problem:
How to troubleshoot sound problems in Windows XP

Satellite L350D - 12 M PSLE0E - no sound after installing Win XP
Hello
I installed Win XP SP3 on my Tosh laptop.
I have everything works except the sound. We know of a compatible for this model sound card driver in XP.
I downloaded the bucket full of HD and AC97 Realtek drivers, but none seems not to work.I'm really struggling with this one and do not want to go back to Vista.
Reall any help is appreciated. Robbie.
Hello
I had the same problem with sound after installing XP everything seemed fine but no sound!
I found a solution;
You need to install the MS patches; KB835221 and KB888111
These hotfixes must be installed before installing driver sound! But I put t know how it works with SP3. I think that you need to remove the SP3 first and then you could install the patches mentioned.
However, once the patches have been installed, you must follow with the Realtek HD audio driver installation. The latest driver should be placed also on the Realtek page too.
Well, in my case it worked so it should work on your laptop too!

Satellite A215 no sound after upgrade to Vista o Win XP Pro
Hi all
I bought Toshiba notebook A215 series with Vista for 2 months. I have upgraded to Windows XP pro yesterday, everyhing looks ok but no sound. I checked the management of the material for the sound card, it seems normal.
Someone knows this problem?
Thank you.Hello
I noticed very strange and different problems after downgrade to XP.
And to be honest, the question of his No. is not uncommon. You know that some series of portable needs a special version of the BIOS after installing Windows XP or Windows Vista. It is important to use the right BIOS!
In addition, you should be sure you used the right and compatible Realtek audio driver.
If you need to download a new one from the Realtek page.Last but not least you must update the operating system to the State.
To do this, use this MS page:
