• Pre-test Question slides crashing my project

  Hi guys,.

  Here is my weekly 8 Captivate question! (I learned to love how it should still be in beta...)

  I want to insert a question slide multiple choice, as a pre-test, but whenever I click on OK, captivate crashes just downright. None of the error messages or the bug report dialog appears, he just died.

  I have restarted the machine several times, and only made sure no other software is running.

  I really want to like Captivate, I do it, so I hope someone can shed some light on this issue, one of the many questions I have met since the purchase of this product.

  Here's my spec;

  Mac Pro (mid-2010)

  2 x 2, 66 GHz 6-core Intel Xeon

  24 GB RAM

  ATI Radion HD 5770 1024 Mb

  And i've got to always available storage.

  * Update - installed the 8.03.290 patch. Now, ALL blocks Captivate! I have no problems with other products Adobe, or any other application.

  You can try if this also occurs in a new project? In this case use the CleanPreferences, please.

  I want to use conditional actions to do the following: display 'continue' button on slides only some slides were viewed by the user.

  I tried a lot of variation with no success and led many searching online.

• Conditional action does not not at the exit slide

  I just got a conditional action which did not work if I he attributed to on drag the output, but it does not work if I assign it to a button.

  The tip action was a conditional action:

  If: variable = yes

  Then:

  new variable set

  go to slide 50

  On the other

  Go to the next slide

  It was weird.  It only works if I assigned to a button.

  This happened to someone else?

  Hello

  When we talk about advanced actions let you always only to use the "On Exit" event when you know that the reading head will reach the last image of a slide, which is certainly not always the case. Please check if you don't have a button or other interactive object on this slide that will prevent default action of navigation on ways to an object that navigation will be the scope of the suspension point of this object, and that the playhead has never reached the last image. The fact that you mention this tip action is functional from a button, confirms in a way my suspicion.

• I want to set the default action for a file type.

  When I installed a photo editor the default action has changed from ""Preview " to 'Open'."  I want to return to "Preview".  Someone at - he had success with this?

  You can try your idea as an experimental, if you don't do that you export .jpg any key for simple restoration (import) in the registry.  Or create a restore point from the system to use.  Don't forget that my machine isn't your machine, so he could have probably NOT the goal in all cases.

  Have a look at the default programs in Control Panel.  Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set default programs.

  See which by default is actually set to "Windows Photo Viewer.  Click on the words "Windows Photo Viewer", then "choose default program".   Whatever file types you set as the default value for "Windows Photo Viewer" should give you the option to preview "BOLD" as the first and default option on right click for this particular file type.

  Then, you should probably use the Edit option to open a file for editing if you wanted to not just previsualisez?

  I can manage the fonts/zoom for the content of the site. SITE OF FONTS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.

  Y at - there a way to set the font of the browser settings in: config to control the fonts in the BROWSER MENU ITEMS (view file Edition... etc) and TAB TITLE (TEXT) CONTENT?

• I can't do a conditional action with several decisions work

  I use 6 Captivate:

  Here is an example:

  The slide contains 2 objects - one is a button and the other is a graphic, seller.

  Entering the slide, a variable, v_button, is set to 0, and seller is hidden.

  I enclose a conditional action for the button to allow the user to click several times to show or hide the image.

  This conditional action works:

  IF:

  v_button is equal to 0

  ACTIONS:

  Show vendor

  Assign the v_button with 1

  ANOTHER THING:

  Hide the seller

  Assign the v_button with 0

  -------------------------------------------------------------

  This conditional action does not work:

  Decision 1:

  IF:

  v_button is equal to 0

  ACTIONS:

  Show vendor

  Assign the v_button with 1

  Decision 2:

  IF:

  v_button is equal to 1

  ACTIONS:

  Hide the seller

  Assign the v_button with 0

  What I am doing wrong?  I need to use many decisions because my real case requires 3 decisions.

  Thank you very much for your advice.  Never, I realized that I could layer smart buttons.  With your help, I solved the problem:

  I created 4 smart buttons, with the 2 green smart buttons on top 2 Brown buttons and attached a standard action to each of them:

  Button1On: (related to the Brown button 1)

  Hide

  Show

  Audio triggered stop

  Play the Audio

  Button1Off: (attached to the green button 1)

  Hide

  Audio triggered stop

  Button2On: (related to the Brown button 2)

• What are the variables system will report to the LMS for the completion of the course, when there is a test (developed with conditional actions manually).

  I developed a course where the learner must pass the test to complete the course in LMS.

  I developed a quiz (quiz developed using conditional actions) manual.

  Now I want my course should show in LMS completion status, only after the learner either in quiz.

  How do my report course to the LMS of completion criteria?

  I use 6 Captivate and LMS is CSOD.

  I tried to include in quiz option is not working for me... anyone have any ideas to fix this?

  Have you checked that Panel Advanced Interaction, please? All of the marked objects that are indicated to be added to the total of the Quiz are part of all system Quizzing variables. Insert a slide to score in your project and check the result when previewing in the browser or after publication.

• Pre-test: random question bypass

  We were asked to do pre for a course, but with random questions to stop collusion

  Is not possible out of the box with the functionality of pre-test now available. In previous versions, I used question slides custom for this questions that I created using standard objects, where the score has not added to the total of the Quiz but stored in a user variable. But you have no question randomly either, so no possible. Don't see a workaround solution, unless you do not have to report to an LMS. Any questions at random, you have to use the normal question slides. It is possible to keep the score of the 'test' in a separate user variable, making decisions as branching based on this variable, create a slide of score as well for the pre-test and test but what a statement to an LMS that all quiz slides will be considered part of a Quiz and the score will be the total of all the slides in quiz score.

  You can find us an if-else for this statement. You can put the reports what ever you want:

• Is it possible to change the question from pre-test to noted after you create the slides?

  I created a quiz, but all except a slide is in test mode. Classified is grayed out.  Is there anyway to change it now or should I recreate?

  There is no way to 'upgrade' a question of pre-test to a normal question of graduate, sorry.

  (a) create test user identified by the test (using the user sys)
  (b) I grant it the create session test user privilege (using the user sys)
  
  (2) now, I want the sys user to grant select on table of hr.countries for the TEST user
  
  Question: everything first is it possible? If yes how?

• Pre test do not branching

  I followed the Adobe eLearning channel video and set the pre-test action... PointsScored is greater than 40 (as it has only 4 questions worth 10 points each).  The Action is Advanced section break, or Else section break starting.  On taking the pre test success or failure, I get to the beginners section.  What Miss me?

  Thank you to the Adobe community. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.

  I tried the same thing at my end it works. The reason why it does not work on your side because in your advanced action Else statement runs. The reason behind this is that you have only 4 questions worth 10 points each and your if is stated in stocks advanced says that it must be more than 40. In order for this to work you must have at least 5 questions or set statement as "is equal to 40. In addition to this please make sure that you use the variable cpQuizInfoPretestPointsScored you have a pre-test Quiz.

• How to do a pre Test in Captivate 4

  I am currently research in Captivate 4 buying at work, which should be our new E-learning development tool. One of the features offered by our current development tool is the 'test '. This allows to implement a quick assessment at the beginning of learning online and they are according to the questions (or partition) is wrong, he will recommend the modules, the user must take (or it hides the modules they have already mastered).

  I installed the trial of Captivate at home and work my way to learn all that. I understand that it has no function predefined to create a 'pre-test '. But can someone tell me if this can be done in Captivate 4 and if so... How can I do it please?

  I really don't mind if I have to learn about variables, coding and same action script (God help me!)... but I'd really love to have the opportunity to do this Captivate 4.

  Already posted a small response this morning when I was in College, but see now that has not happened.

  It is not so easy to make and pretty hard to explain. Would be easier with an example, but it will give a try with text and photos first.

  1. You will need to create your legitimate question slides. In my example I had simple yes/no questions, so I had to create Yes and issues of non-boutons on each slide. I wanted to give immediate feedback to the user; That's why I've created two text captions (one for the answer-Yes) and another for non-response, initially hidden on the question slide.
  2. To store the response of the user (yes/no), I created a user for each question slide variable (e.g. v_question1 v_question2...). In my case, this variable could have two possible values: 1 or 0. When the user has clicked the Yes button, a tip action was performed: the user variable has been set to 1 and the right text caption has been demonstrated. The user should then click a button "Next" to proceed to the next question. A similar tip action was triggered by clicking on the button, where the user variable has been set to 0 and the other illustrated text caption
  3. When all the question slides are complete, the user can slide "menu. I show not all 'modules' initially with a button, used to access the right slide. Triggers a tip action, entering into this slide, I have check user variables and I shows according to their value (value = 0) or hide (value = 1) the button right of the module. • Creating conditional actions based on the results of the quiz

  I have a quiz at the end of my captivate file and I try to get to show different based on images if you have passed the quiz, or if you failed. For example if you pass, I want to show an image of the tick, and if you do not have an image of the cross, on the results slide.

  I tried to create this by implementing a conditional action. I put the two images on the slide and they hid. Then I have a conditional action value:

  IF
  cpQuizInfoPointsscored greater than or equal to 70

  ACTION

  See the Image_tick

  ON THE OTHER

  See the Image_cross

  When I play the quiz or image shows that I have success or failure (the quiz is set to a 70% pass - there are 10 questions, and all are worth 10 points)
  I am new to Captivate so that any help would be appreciated!

  Each action must be triggered by 'something', which is an event. You must attach to an event, I suspect that the event on enter score slide is one that suits. Select the slide of score, look in the properties panel, tab Actions, perform actions on enter, choose the action.

  In addition, there is a difference between the system variable cpQuizInfoPointsscored and cpInfoPercentage. Personally, I would use the simpler cpQuizInfoPassFail:

  IF cpQuizInfoPassFail is equal to 1
