setting up scan to network in a Mac environment

Our office is based Mac and we use a Canon Image Runner 2535i as our scanner and a network printer.  It works very much like our network printer, but we don't get anything from the scanner.  We connected via an ethernet cable.  We lack of OS X Lion. 10.7

Anyone have experience with this and could lead you throug setting this up?

I discovered that the runner ir2535 CanonImage will not scan for Mac OS10.7 and later versions.  It is not for lack of Cannon, but when put Mac updated to 10.7 Lion, they changed something that has disabled the scan on this machine.

  • HP MFP M476dw Pro: How can I set up scan to network on mac Yosemite with M476dw folder

I use a Mac with Yosemite and feels a hell of a time tyring to analyze; they keep saying I need to configure a network folder.  I tried without success.  I even tried to set up scan to email, without success.  PLEASE HELP ME!

    Hello

Apple have implemented the new SMBX 3 Protocol to share a folder of Yosemite.

Follow a method below to update the latest firmware, it is necessary for the printer to connect to a shared folder in Yosemite:

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=c03754273&DocLang=en&docLocale=en_US&JumpID=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001

Then, create a folder and right-click (CTRL + left click) and select get information, check the box next to the shared folder.

Under the section permissions ensure that your user account has read and write.

In System Preferences, select sharing, make sure that file sharing is enabled, and click on Edit / Options button.

Make sure the SMB is enabled and the user is listed and selected, add the user if needed.

Now try to add the printer to the EWS of the printer page (the homepage of the printer can be found by typping the UTL printer in Safari) and under Scan nd of the network folder select Configure the folder using the user account and password.

Set the path as the IP of the computer and the name of the shared folder (for example, \\10.0.0.0\scan).

Please let me know of any problem.

  • What Windows password is required when you set up Scan to network folder?

Product: HP Officejet Pro 8600; OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit.

I'm doing a Scan to the configuration of the network folder.  It requires a Windows user name and password to access the network folder.  What Windows password I should be entered?  There is a default user name facility.  Should I change this name?  If Yes must be a Windows user name that I already use on the computer?

  • LaserJet Pro M225dw MFP: Problems of scan to network folder

    Hello.

I set up a portable computer with the printer mentioned above. No problem printing and no problem to set up Scan to network on the web interface folder (ran test and got the result OK) but there are issues when scanning in fact the printer. I put it in a document to scan in the top loader, select scan, scan to network folder, your computer (or rather folder name) and click Scan. The printer draws the paper and then started working. A pdf document will appear in the folder, the printer is how ever is already done. He keeps grinding on it for a while and then the signals being completed. At this moment, the pdf file disappears from the record.

    What could cause that?

    Hi @M3rLiN_74,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed your post about how you cannot scan your network with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw 10 pro Windows folder. And I'm happy to see it for you!

This could be a problem with the charger of the printer, or perhaps a connection software / junk the computer. What happens if you try to scan to network folder using the glass of the scanner of the printer? Are you able to scan from the computer by using the top of the charger page? Scanning the computer (Windows).

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 - scan to network?

    Hello

Anyone know if it is possible to set up scan to network folder/path directly using the Officejet Pro 6830? The option does not appear on the printer control panel and requires the computer to be turned on in order and this option for the analysis to cross successfully.

If not, are there plans to add this feature in a new version of s/w?

    Thank you

    Breleur

    HI Sylvain,.

The model HP Offiecjet 6830 Pro does not support scanning to a network shared folder.

For series Officejet Pro 8600 Officejet series manages this type of functionality, not the 6800 series.

I highly doubt such a feature will become supported in the future...

You can check the scanning to E-mail option of the printer, such only require the printer to connect to the network and need not the PC can be powered on:

  • Color LaserJet MFP M476 Pro: Scan to network folder

Finally decided to try to set up the scan to a folder again... but run into the same issues as before... invalid name and password

The printers and mac are on the same wireless network and have no problem printing.

Using Macbook Pro running El Capitan 10.11.6 - has only one user on mac... Bob

    Not yet completed:

    Folder created under users\Bob\Scan

Went to the settings and turned on file sharing and add the Scan file to the list of shared folders and make sure "Bob" is listed as a user with read/write privileges.

Page web accessible to 192.1.168.88 printer

Selected scan / file Configuration of the network

    inpu the following parameters

    Display name - Scan

Network path - \\192.168.1.94\Scan (confirmed this ip address is the ip address for the mac)

    User name - Bob

PW - same as the one used to log for Mac (verified by up to 30 times!)

Continually get "user name or password is incorrect. Make sure that the user name and password are correct"

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

As long as you enable sharing of Windows files for the user the pritner will not be able to connect because it only supports SMB.

By testing, I see the user as available for selection Although SMB is off...

By searching online, I do not see messages indicating you will not be able to set in Windwos God file for the password iCloud user, may it be linked? :

    https://discussions.Apple.com/thread/6708192?start=0 & tstart = 0

You can try creating a new user account and set it for this purpose (you won't even need this user to login, just set it to the printer while offering both users access to that folder, then you can continue to use your current users).

Another thread indicate that change the password solved the problem:

    https://discussions.Apple.com/thread/6629743?start=0 & tstart = 0

For any other questions, I suggest to start a thread at Apple Support communities, as long as you won't solve this problem, the printer won't be able to connect.

  • HPOfficeJet Pro 8630: Scan to network folder fails

I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 without password on my computer, although the previous installation did use a password. Now I can not scan to network folder (error message that the user name or password is incorrect), or save faxes on my computer. (error message that there is no communication between the computer and the printer). I checked the windows firewall, I restarted the router, printer and computer. I use an Ethernet connection to the router.

    Hello

First of all ensure that protected by password sharing is disabled for your operating system, otherwise it will fail:

From the Control Panel, under network and Internet open the network and sharing Center.

Ensure that the network type is displayed as a home or work network, if it is listed as Public network click on it and select home or work.

In the left pane click on change advanced network settings and select turn off password protected sharing.

    Search for now any change.

If you have problems to right click on the Shared folder, and then select Properties.

Ensure that the folder is shared as sharing.

Click Advanced, and then click permissions and ensure that your users have all permissions to this folder.

    Hope that helps,

It is said that there is something not working only not with the driver

You probably need to install some network drivers for your wireless card.

    Download drivers

Visit the manufacturer's Web site and select your computer model (this is usually done in the Support section). You should be able to download drivers for your model. Download the driver (s) and follow the instructions to install - every computer is different, so I can't give you exact directions. You can also try to use Windows Update to get drivers - it is located in the start menu.
