• Card nvidia, Linux Mint and W520?

  I'm on a W520 possessing a videocard of nvidia Quadro 1000 m, running Linux Mint 17 xfce (64-bit)

  Recentley, I came across a situation that required OpenGL 3.3. Best I can tell, my card intel integrated can support above 3.1!

  So I went to try to get the nvidia card work. Note to all the world at this point... Installation of the nvidia proprietary drivers directley Apparentley is the worst thing to do.

  I went to install the drivers of bumblbee (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bumblebee) and have since been frusterated with an nvidia card not working.

  I went to the cat bourdon, scourd the web for my problem, tried to re - install on a fresh USB... Nothing works.

  Has ANYONE else been in this situation? What are the steps that you took to get a functional nvidia card?

  When trying to install Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit OEM) on a machine that I had built just the disk booted from the DVD OK drive, load it "load files in memory" and "starting Windows" appeared briefly followed by a Windows Boot Manager screen.  He said that 'an unexpected error occurred' and "Windows was able to start" (as I couldn't understand as mine!).  He said that this may have been "the result of a recent change of hardware or software.  The given code is '0cx0000225 '.

  When clicking 'next' you're presented with another screen and asked to choose an operating system.  The only choice is "Windows Setup [EMS allows] ' or 'tools' may run with a diagnosis of memory being the only choice.  Select "Windows Setup [active MDT]" puts you in a loop.  I've run the memory test and it found no errors.  The problem could not be the result of "software changes" since he had no installed, and I checked all the equipment of direct substitution, to include card motherboard and CPU.  Everything looks good except in the eyes of Windows Boot Manager!

  I have the vPro 7130 I recently updated to the latest version of the BIOS (A10), video & firmware updates. So far, the question of touch very pesky ghost seems to have been resolved. Finally! BUT now the sleep function (or more precisely, to wake up from sleep) seems to behave like a reboot. When I put the system to sleep, the display turns off immediately and I guess he falls asleep, as expected. BUT when I press the power button to wake him up and it is exactly the same way it does when I turn on it after a stop... past the POST and none of the applications I had opened are open. For example, if I had IE opens when I put it to sleep, after the "Awakening", when I start IE return it asks if I want to restore the previous sessions. I tried hibernate as well... It's worse! After pressing the power button after hibernation, the unit goes in the MAIL, then the kind of screen of light but it is, is just like that forever or until I get tired to wait (long, I waited is 10 minutes - then an eternity) and press on & hold the power button to stop it.   Hey people it seems that I solve this problem!

  I open the bios setup, active and disabled the feature 'block sleep' to force the sistem of re - save the option.

  Then, I selected the boot sequence complete rather than minimum (which is also the default), applied all changes and then the configuration of the bios have left.

  After the automatic restart of the sistem, sleep/power off problem has been resolved. Now my DVP 11 past in mode 'sleep' correctly. I just had to wait a bit for the first "suite" after these changes.

  I'll know if this solution is stable or not, but for now by selecting the full boot instead of the minimum mode seems to have also fixed other little freeze problems.
