  If it is a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on a single computer at a time (and if it's a Windows 7 Upgrade version the new computer must have its own XP/Vista license qualification). The previous installation of Windows 7 on the old computer must be in the format / deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer. The key works with 32 and 64 bit, but can only be installed at a time.
  
  If it is licensed OEM - No. OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.

In reading, there is no way I could actually update my current installation of XP and keep all the settings, I decided to just reformat my hard drive and install windows 7 as a custom install fees. Is it possible (armed with my XP and Windows 7 product keys) I can activate my software?   Hello! And welcome to the Microsoft Forums!

  From my experience with several ISOs of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, and even 10, I can tell you that the 0x8007025d error means that the installation media is corrupted.

  This type of error appears on the official Microsoft Media tool too.

  The issue seems more likely when choosing Windows 8.1 (no N or PRO).

  The issue could be fixed only by downloading the same or a different ISO image again. In addition, it flashes again on the USB port or the burn on DVD another using a speed more SLOW can increase the success rate.

  Also: Don't forget to check the SUM of the ISO downloaded to see if it matches the amount on Microsoft Download Page.

  This ensures that the file has been downloaded without problem and is not corrupted or altered somehow.

  Remember to use only the official Microsoft ISOs to avoid viruses and other security threats.

• Cannot access Windows software for Information management. Windows XP Professional Windows 8 Pro upgrade will not work.

  It started a month or two ago when the print spooler has stopped working. 'Systems', or had no dependencies. It turns out that none of the services had dependencies, but everything still worked (except the print spooler). Then, I could not access "system information". I tried to restore to an earlier date, that wouldn't work. Tried to do a picture of Macruim Reflect - no luck there either.  My laptop works fine, although slow. Got the printer to work. This lack of progress, I decided I would just upgrade to windows 7, then decided to Windows 8. Me am upgrading of Windows 8 Pro: he went through "preparation" 100% of the screen. On the screen "Get The Latest" I tried 'install updates now' and 'no thank you', the results were the same. On the page "Check your system", he comes back: 'something has happened. Sorry, we're having some difficulty to determine if your PC can run Windows 8. If please close Setup and try again. "He wouldn't have spent so far. • Windows 8 pro upgrade from Vista Home premium - abandonment of the facility after having successfully performed the wizard upgrade reboot

  I started the process of upgrading to Windows Vista Edition Family Premium to Windows 8 Pro by using the relevant DVD purchased from amazon.co.uk.

  Setup.exe automatically runs 'prepare' the PC for the Windows installation. The option allows to select personal folders are to remember, I chose 'Nothing' (I also tried another option). After reaching 100% of the given progress the PC is reset.

  The blue brand (8) window so that the circle of progress under and then all of a sudden I get an instant error on a light blue background, something like: ":-(". The installation could not be completed.

  I'm not sure of the message because it only flashes for a second and then reboots the PC. Back to the Vista, a message from window 8 installation could not be completed without further indication of what might have gone wrong.

  Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.5
  (Pentium Dual-Core E5200)
  6 GB OF RAM
  Important: During the described process I had a dual boot OS, Ubuntu 12 and Windows Vista. Then I formatted all realizing finally that it is explicitly a DVD upgrade and it won't work for any new installation.
  In any case, I'm really frustrated by the upgrade experience. I never had something similar, not even with Trash OS like Windows Me.

  I want to thank you for posting on the thread.
  After some trial and error, I finally had. Here's what I did:
  I started by trying to install Windows 7 to then use as the basis for the upgrade of Windows 8 (Vista installation was not good enough since it is 32-Bit allows do not directly upgrade to 64-bit operating system)-here I was getting an exception (BLUE) screen with the error code several different so I started to answer one by one
  1 removed all USB and other devices outside mouse & keyboard (lock was apparently a Logitech camera)
  2 update BIOS of ASUS motherboard to the latest version
  3. I had two different pairs of RAM modules using different frequencies. (2x2gb, 2 x 1 GB). I removed a pair.
  Everything worked well, Windows 7 was installed successfully, and then I continued with an upgrade of Windows 8 smooth.
  Lessons learned: incompatibilities HW should consider significant problems during the upgrade.
