Have more Windows 8 Pro upgrade after system upgrade

Was not able to reinstall my display drivers, so I did a system refresh. After the update is complete, I noticed that I had lost my upgrade. My computer came pre-loaded with Windows 8 Pro and I don't have a product key. Any suggestions?

Hi Jason,

As the computer came pre-installed with the Windows operating system, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer and check if you have the same setup:

  • Upgrade Windows 8 Pro blocked after the first reboot

I have a HP Media Center PC m7470n. When I upgraded with Windows 8 Pro disc, after the first reboot, it gets stuck on the Windows form with turning points. He's not going back to XP and when I stop and restart, he goes right back to the same screen. I tried to boot from a hard drive and CD ROM with the disc in. I also tried to do a system restore, but it still maintains just that goes back to the same screen. , I even contacted Microsoft Support and after 1 1/2 hours, I had to let go because I had to go to work and they do not have a solution for me. Windows 7 Pro upgrade Activation issue. I bought a real upgrade of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. In reading, there is no way I could actually update my current installation of XP and keep all the settings, I decided to just reformat my hard drive and install windows 7 as a custom install fees. Now, I can't activate Windows 7 because it claims that I do not have a version of windows installed on this hard drive. Is it possible (armed with my XP and Windows 7 product keys) I can activate my software? Or should I go through the hassle to format my drive again, stick XP on it simply to crush it with Windows 7 so I can activate it? Feels like a bit of an oversight for XP to 7 plants of valuation. Thanks for any help you can offer!

I had my PC Windows 7 Professional for almost 4 years. Recently the sound has stop working on the integrated - Mahjong Titans game but the game itself works as usual.

    Hello

    Try the steps.

I suggest you check that the default audio device is correctly set

    1. click on start, type Sound in the box to start the search.
    2. click on sound in the results of search at the top of the start menu.
    3. click on the tab reading notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users, the default device is speakers.

Make sure that the audio settings are configured as expected. Follow these steps:

    1. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab and make sure that the default Format is set to the value you expect.
When you are finished, close this window to return to the previous window.
    2. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click on configure and make sure that the configurations are set correctly.
    3. If the sound settings are well positioned, you are using speakers as the audio device and your speakers are already set as the default device, go to method 5 now.
    4. Select the audio device you want as the default audio device and then click on set as default.
    5. click OK to save your settings and close the sound dialog box.

Hope this information helps. Please let us know if you need any other help with Windows in the future. We will be happy to help you.

  • I bought MS Windows 8 Pro upgrade from last year, but it was not installed until today. I get a message "installation failed." What should I do?

Currently I have Windows XP, but cannot install Windows 8 Pro upgrade.

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

Have you tried to boot from the disk and make a custom installation?

Boot from the DVD Windows 8

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 8 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

I'm sorry, but you will need a Windows 9 x / ME drive to provide during the XP installation from the XP disc is a version upgrade. There is no way around that. See if you can find a friend with an older operating system disk (not a recovery disk) to support qualification. Otherwise, you would need to buy the full version (not upgrade) of XP to install on the computer. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Windows 7 Pro upgrade for reuse

My last computer was shipped with Vista Home Premium. I bought Windows 7 Pro update for this computer. The death of this machine, I bought another HP with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed. I reused my disc of Windows 7 Pro upgrade successfully. I have Windows 7 recovery discs that were created before the installation of Windows 7 Pro upgrade. Now, I pre-ordered Windows 8 Pro. When it happens, I would use my Windows 7 recovery discs (Home Premium) to bring the machine to its original state, and then install Windows 8 Pro Upgrade. Then I would use the disc of Windows 7 Pro upgrade to upgrade to another computer that is running Windows 7 Home Premium. Will there be problems reusing this disc again?

    Hi flnettles,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

If it is a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on a single computer at a time (and if it's a Windows 7 Upgrade version the new computer must have its own XP/Vista license qualification). The previous installation of Windows 7 on the old computer must be in the format / deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer. The key works with 32 and 64 bit, but can only be installed at a time.

If it is licensed OEM - No.
OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.

Call Microsoft use the manual phone Activation

If you have trouble activating Windows 7 you can call Microsoft to activate it by following these steps:
    1. with the operation of Windows, click Start, then in the search box type: slui.exe 4
    2. press enter on your keyboard
    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option, then dial the given number and hold for a real person.

I bought a laptop computer with non-genuine windows 7. I have the original windows xp product key pro, etc. from the bottom of the laptop, but I do not have the windows xp pro cd.  Help me, please!

You will need to either buy a version authentic retail Windows XP, with its key sales, to a true scource or visit the site of laptop manufacturers, support for your model and see what versions of win are taken care of, then buy a commercial version of this o/s.

The key on the base of the laptop is the recovery key that requires that the recovery disks provided by the manufacturer.

You could phone manufacturers to support to see if they have the origonal recovery cd send you, for which it maybe a small fee.
