Several versions of W7 installed, system is so slow atm

Hi all!

So 8 days ago I bought a Lenovo laptop y580 and because of the stupid arrangement of HDD (disk C 900 GB, 25 GB) I wanted to fix this... long story short - I had to reinstall Windows 7 Home edition.
Unfortunately, it was not so easy to do, I have formatted these discs and a Lenovo who was not active as well... When I installed windows like that at the end of what the computer has been restarted all over again and the laptop was only Lenovo welcomes the screen and that is that by pressing F2 on it, you can go to windows install. So it was quite resolved when there was at least 2 systems installed, then I could go to the 1 screen (too bad its not in English but I hope you understand) where I could choose between these versions and even managed to launch the system and operate as in all other windows. So I can say this is where I am, theres 3 systems on this computer (only in the Middle, working, otherwise I see descop to screen 2) so I bet thats why the computer is very slow (even if everything is currently running pilot, internet, games...), but I don't know where other systems are or how to get rid of them. I know theres a c in Windows.old can't find wheres it.
BTW the installation CD should be good, because I used it on the PC where I write this to and its totally OK.

I recommend you do a correct reinstallation:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

Click Install now

Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

Click new

Click on apply

Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

You can use the product key to bottom the laptop reinstall and reactivate Windows 7:

Click Start, right click computer

Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click on the link change product key

Enter the product key located on the COA sticker at the bottom of the laptop and click next to activate via the Internet.

  • How to install the spectral measures and Modulation for several versions of Labview Toolkits

    Hello dear,
This is a known issue. You can read in the readme of the modulation toolkit:

    Two Versions of LabVIEW installed
The installer supports the installation of the Modulation Toolkit into one
version of LabVIEW; installation of the tool in several separate
facilities (e.g. LabVIEW 7.0 and 7.1 installed LabVIEW LabVIEW
on the same PC or in separate directories) is not supported or recommended.
A way not supported to do but involves manually copying files from
one LabVIEW installation to another. To do this, you can install the
Modulation Toolkit to the base of a LabVIEW installation directory, and
then manually copy the files installed in the other installation of LabVIEW.
The following list includes files and relevant directories. Copy all the files
These directories, including subdirectories, using the equivalent
paths related to the House LabVIEW directory for the target.

    \vi.lib\AddOns\Modulation\*.*
    \vi.lib\AddOns\NISML\*.*
    \examples\Modulation\*.*
    \resource\objmgr\NIMTAttribs.RC
    \resource\objmgr\NIMTAttribs.RCH
    \help\lvmod.txt
    \help\lvmod.chm
    \help\lvdmt.txt
    \help\lvdmt.chm

Note that this list does not include installed files. Also, copy
the files in this way is not equivalent to a complete installation in the
another version of LabVIEW. Especially own error text to the
Modulation Toolkit will not be updated and the example Finder ads will be
    the examples of Modulation Toolkit.

  • Several versions of Mozilla Firefox on my system

Hi I run windows XP SP3 and I noticed that I have the Firefox 3.5 & 5.0 as separate instances on my system. Can I safely remove version 3.5? The reason why I ask is probably that your software would have removed/update older versions when you apply updates? Confused, please advise, thanks, Barry

    Hi Barry,.

I have deliberately run several versions of Firefox, but tend to be a version only Yes standard facilities and are often updated leading only the installation of a. Probably at one point you did a custom installation.

Pay attention by removing or uninstalling Firefox, it will offer to remove personal settings, or however it is worded, do NOT use this option, because it is likely it will delete all bookmarks and settings for all versions of Firefox.

Another idea is to make these two versions share the same profile , so you see exactly the same bookmarks and history in each version. (They probably not unless you or someone else has deliberately set up a separate profile, but worth the drive before you remove the old version)

So to summarize Yes it is safe to remove the old version, just use the XPs Control Panel uninstall option, but don't forget do not remove your settings.

  • I have several versions of Firefox are installed?

I would like to install Firefox 4, but I also want to keep Firefox 3.6. I have test the web applications and therefore need several versions.

Is this possible? If so, what are the words of wisdom you can share on how to install 4 without screwing up the current installation of Firefox?

I have a Mac (OS 10.6) and Windows 7. I prefer to keep 3.6 on both, but only need to install on a 4.

You are 10 security updates behind - 3.6.16 is released yesterday.

Mac is only one version of Firefox at the same time.

Windows = install Firefox 4.0 by using the Custom Installation, in a single folder named option - as /Program Files/Firefox 4.0 /-don't let not run 4.0 after the complete installation procedure.

Create a new profile exclusively for version 4.0 beta and create a shortcut on the desktop with Pei 'profile' attached to the target to launch this profile.

  • Question of curiosity: several versions of LabWindows CVI can be installed on the same PC?

I'm curious.  Several versions of LabWindows CVI can be installed on the same PC?

I'm used to LabVIEW, where Yes, it is possible.  However, with CVI, other than the additional support with newer versions, there may not be a problem to return to an earlier version.  I still wonder.  Several versions can coexist in the same PC?  Or they affect each other?

    Curious...

    R

You can, BUT only one (the last) version of the CVI runtime will be installed - this behavior began with CVI 6 or more.  Before that date, you have completely installed parallel to several versions of the CVI.

This can be a problem if you ever find that you have applications depend on a particular version of the RTE.  Theory of NI is that this editor is always backward compatible.

And you might ask what is simply the RTE - the answer is that it is a set of DLLS and stuff that NEITHER really cares to list for you.

  • Vista does not start, fails to Startup Repair indicating that the version of the operating system is incompatible with Startup Repair tool

I use a laptop Dell XPS M1330, under Vista Home Premium 32 Bit. The laptop froze, I tried to do a system restore, which did not work. Now the laptop goes into startup each time put on repair. A message window appears saying "Startup Repair cannot repair the computer automatically. Startup Repair window says "Startup Repair could not detect a problem. Diagnostics details say: Root cause found: the operating system version is incompatible with Startup Repair tool.

I tried to use the Dell Factory Image Restore to restore the system, but it does not end. I get an error message instead. There is no details, it's just a small window with an X and the Word error.

I also tried to use resettlement Dell DVD, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Vista does not start at all, not in either safe mode.

I just ran to the Dell Diagnostics tool, and that is to say that the integrity test of memory has failed... No idea how to solve this problem?

  • How can I make Firefox use another version of the installed Java runtime?

For purposes of development, I have several versions of the Java runtime on my 64 bit Windows 7 computer. I try to keep the number of JDK and JRE installation to a minimum and I want Firefox to use JRE 1.7.0_21 (32 bit) because this happened with a version of JDK, I am forced to use another application.

Firefox however use JRE 1.6.0_31 and is correctly reported as non-secure. It offers me the upgrade option, but I don't want to download and install a different JRE since I already said 1.7.0_21 installed JRE. I would prefer very just to be able to point Firefox so that JRE. I don't see an option to select a different JRE installed however.

I tried to manually edit the file pluginreg.dat (I know, it says do not edit...) by changing the entries of JRE 1.6 and 1.7 of the JRE, but on reboot, my changes have been overwritten and was back at the old JRE. So I can't view some web sites (also company/internal) without having to change to any browsers.

Please let me know how I can make Firefox use the already installed JRE 1.7.

Firefox scans the registry to find the location of the plugins.
If Firefox detects a plugin and not the other, then that means that the other Java plugin is not having a corresponding registry key.

  • Limited to the version of the operating system

Is there a restriction on the version of the operating system that I can update my iPad to old mothers of?  In iTunes, it says that there is no update.  It's on iOS 5.1.1 but when I try to install a game to her, it says that I need at least version 7.1.  I guess the age of the iPad, MB292LL model, he can't possibly run the latest version of the operating system.  Please tell me I'm wrong.

If she maxed out at 5.1.1 so this is a first generation iPad and Yes, unfortunately it can no longer be improved. Later this year when iOS10 comes out there will be additional models that can not be upgraded from 9 to 10.

What you can try, never sync you your iPad to iTunes? If you try to download that game via iTunes if there is a version of the application remains compatible with 5.1.1 then who should download on iTunes and then you can sync it on the iPad.

If they are not then you may just be stuck. The model of the iPad 1 is 5 years old, unfortunately, unless the users already have apps on it can be difficult to find a compatible more
