• Illustrator CS5.1 crashing on Start Up

I have problems with Illustrator CS5.1, which seems to be crashing when starting upwards. Everything was working fine a few days ago. I did recent updates or made any changes to my mac, it just happen randomly tonight. When you open the app, I get to the screen that reads 'initializing' orange start-up. The spinning clock appears, immediately followed by the spinning beachball. Subsequently the application "unresponsive" and then I have to do a force quit. I restarted my mac several times with no luck! All of the other creative suite applications are working well. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Charlotte,

(Try the list of 3) or 4); I think you can skip 5) in this case.

The following is a general list of things you can try when the question is not in a specific file and when it is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media, see below. You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically preferences might be corrupt); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

(1) close Illy and open again.

(2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

(3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

https://helpx.Adobe.com/Illustrator/KB/preference-file-location-Illustrator.html

5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

Even worse, you can:

(6) (check the box to delete the preferences), run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) to uninstall and reinstall.

Yes, the 'epson stylus nx420"is a device combined with a scanner and printer.

You disable the TWAIN plugin like any other Photoshop plugin: by extracting from the plugins directory or by changing the name to ' ~ ' as the first character in the name of the plugin.

This report also contains technical information about the State of the application when it crashed.

Hi R600A, based on a large number of reports recent by other mac os x users, I will just guess, this could be caused by the report of trusteer. If you are a user of this program, please see if there is an update available for her or even keep order/uninstalled for now.

It's the version 28.0 + build2-0ubuntu2. Reset profile has no effect.

OK, apparently something was broken with my Software Center. 28.0 version is quite old, after all.

So I launched the Update Manager and updated everything to 14.04.1.

Now, Firefox is running and displays 32.0 in his 'A connection' dialog box.

• Firefox always crashes when started upward.

I open Firefox, and 5 seconds later, it blocks. During these five seconds, I click on 'Restore', and then it crashes always. After a few accidents, I have the option to start mode without failure or reboot, when I opened in safe mode it still crashes. I have not tried to reset it as I like to keep all my settings...

As a test, start Firefox in Safe Mode; Hold down the SHIFT key
(On Mac key Options ), and then with the program.

• Firefox crashes always start upward to the point Windows 8.1

I just installed Windows 8.1 on my computer. Then, I installed the latest Firefox. The installation is completed successfully. But everytime I open Firefox, it crashes just after 5 seconds.

Here is my report id: Crash ID: bp-8e22c917-2066-4a30-8fec-cf26c2140626

Thanks for your help.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
While you are in safe mode;
Press < Alt > or < F10 > to display the toolbar.
Followed;

Windows; Tools > Options
Linux; Edit > Preferences
Mac; name of the application > Preferences

Then Advanced > General.
Find and stop using hardware acceleration.

Dig safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart.

• Nightly crashing on start

Nightly crashes at startup and does not produce a report of incidents since the last update. It ran fine yesterday and I did not change my system. I am running Win 7 64 bit with all latest updates. I have also tried to open every night in safe mode by using the SHIFT key, but it freezes until it's able to do and have also tried using a different profile as well.
Note: I am posting this through the beta version of Firefox and not every night.
Crash report windows, is attached.

Update:
It seems that EMITS 4.0 was really the question. I forgot to disable the settings of mitigation in application configurations but assumed by mistake they would be disabled with any other disabled. It seems that the deep 'hooks' option is the cause of the crash in every night as an update a few days ago (I guess an update every night) and when off allows to use every night to start fine. I got EMET 4.0 and every night for a while without any problem between the two before that crash began to occur if it was because of a patch somewhere that causes this.

Curiously, Aurora or Firefox Beta are performed by the option of hooks deep EMET and only every night.

What follows is explanation summarized Microsoft what deep hooks mitigation covers:

• Deep hooks: EMET will protect critical API and the API of subsequent lower level used by the critical high-level API. For example, EMET will not only hold on and protect kernel32! VirtualAlloc but also related to lower level functions, such as kernelbase! VirtualAlloc and ntdll! NtAllocateVirtualMemory.
• Firefox keep crashing on start

Cannot open firefox. It crashes as soon as it starts to

You can try to see if you can start Firefox in Safe Mode:

• On Windows, hold down the SHIFT key while starting Firefox with a double click on the shortcut to the desktop Firefox
• On Mac, hold the Options key when starting Firefox
• Help > restart with disabled modules

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

• Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

• (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
• (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but make sure that 'delete personal data' is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

If you keep problems also create a new profile.

Do a check with some malware malware, analysis of programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.

All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

You can use one of them to start Firefox in safe mode:

• On Mac, hold the Options key when starting Firefox
• Help > restart with disabled modules
• Crashing on start, auto-updated even when disabled & not allowing an add-on security toolbar download

I followed all the steps in all relevant help articles (http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help#w_get-help-fixing-this-crash), and nothing has solved this problem.

I was running v17, and yesterday it auto-updated to v18 when I opened firefox. As soon as it updated it crashed, pressing 'restart firefox' did nothing, I could only quit. So I found an old install file, went back to v17, checked the option to ask permission before updating, run malwarebytes and spybot, so my PC is clean. This morning, same thing happened - auto update with no warning or permission given. Crashed. Repeatedly, restarted, closed everything else that was running, uninstalled and reinstalled the older stable version. Both times I spent a long time reinstalling add ons and themes. On top of that my goodapp toolbar from goodsearch will no longer be installed by firefox because 'it can't modify the necessary files'. All other add ons work fine, and I was using this toolbar with no issues in v17 only yesterday.
The second reinstall I clicked the option 'never check for updates'. But tonight, when I opened firefox, it updated without warning to v18 again and I was ready to switch to chrome after a decade of using this browser. There was no Firefox (safe mode) to run from my program files, and since I couldn't open the browser at all before it crashed, all I could do was uninstall and reinstall v17 for the third time in 24 hours and as you can imagine I am not very happy that your so-called stable release is anything but that. I think with the number of people having problems that you should stop work on v20 and actually accept there is a problem with this release instead of trying to blame it on malware.

Final crash report ID: bp-3ea35888-008f-4e21-b31f-023002130112

This crash is usually caused by malicious software and the random name involved in your case file is astktkra.dll as you can see in the list of the modules of the accident report.

Try using MSConfig and disable this file to prevent any start-up.

Try to start the computer in safe mode Windows with network support (on the startup screen, press F8) to see if that allows you to locate and remove the file manually or with a malware scanner.

You need to search the registry of Windows (Ctrl + F) for references to this file and export and delete the keys involved to avoid problems starting with the missing files or you can also use a registry cleaner like CCleaner.
If you are not satisfied with editing the registry, then it's better to skip this step.

Do a check with some malware malware, analysis of programs on the Windows computer.

You need to scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.
