Office Firefox crashes when starting, and no Crash report is formed

Hi all. No idea what happened, but my browser started simply crashing today.

Here I have a gdb backtrace. As you can see, it hangs just inside his own accident-journalist (google-breakpad):

It's the version 28.0 + build2-0ubuntu2. Reset profile has no effect.

OK, apparently something was broken with my Software Center. 28.0 version is quite old, after all.

So I launched the Update Manager and updated everything to 14.04.1.

Now, Firefox is running and displays 32.0 in his 'A connection' dialog box.

Update (Vista) system would not start so restore earlier that day... now Firefox does not start and Crash Reporter will not go away. I can not download a new version by extracting what continues to ask on behalf of the administration and I have nothing set up... suggestions?

Using the system restore can cause your installation of Firefox get corrupted because not all files are restored, so be careful to do a system restore.

You will need to reinstall Firefox and delete the folder of the program Firefox (c:\Program FilesMozilla Firefox) before reinstalling a freshly downloaded version of Firefox.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible.

    • Do NOT remove the data of a personal nature when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data, because all profile files will be deleted.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

  • How does Firefox crash reporter know my email address?

When Firefox crashes, crash reporter is pre-populated with my email address. How does do that? I don't remember precisely what gives to any point in the past, other than to sign up for this help forum some time back. Even if I * fact * enter it in the area of the accident at some point in the past (it is very possible that happened and I just forgot), I still don't understand how it is stored. I delete cookies whenever I close the browser. (I use Ccleaner and have selected the cookies set to 'save', but Firefox and Mozilla are * not * among the "keep cookies".) Is it stored in my profile once manually entered in a crash report? If so, how can I remove it? This question is more about curiosity than ' concern. "Thank you.

Did you uninstall FireFox 9? If this isn't the case, uninstall it, and then run the installer for firefox 8. Yes, it is already installed, but you want to repair then install it over the current installation. If this does not resolve the problem, you need to remove firefox completely and reinstall. You must manually back up your bookmarks if you need to uninstall.

Hi kteinc, looking at this report, it seems that this may be caused by external software on the computer. go to control panel of your system and remove any software marked 'Freecorder"or similar, or by the Publisher"Applian Technologies"or any other toolbars.

    Hello
Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you delete your Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. This process does not delete your Firefox profile (such as bookmarks and passwords) data, since this information is stored in a different location.

To do a clean reinstall of Firefox, follow these steps: Note: you can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from mozilla.org office (or choose the download for your operating system and language on this page) and save the file to install it on your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (or open the Firefox menu

      Click the close button

      ).

    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.

WARNING: Do not use an uninstaller to third parties as part of this process. This could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and passwords saved. They can be retrieved easily unless they have been backed up on an external device! See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

Please report to say if this helped you!

    Thank you.

You can check if you can start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the shift/Options key.

Do a clean reinstall and download a new copy of Firefox since http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox and remove the Firefox program folder before installing this copy of the Firefox installer.

Do not remove personal data during the uninstallation.

It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.

You can skip the step to create a new profile, which is not required on this issue.

  • I can't get out of safe mode when starting, and can not run the Setup program from windows XP in safe mode.

I have a XP box that would only start in safe mode.  I needed to repair windows, so I started updating reinstall option but to reboot it says it cannot run in safe mode then it tries to boot into normal mode but crashes - which is what I am tring to solve.  Now I'm stuck because the computer is now making a loop and I'm stuck.  There is no available recovery console, it shows just the installation restart then goes into the shot.  If I try to launch safe mode, that it says cannot run update in safe mode then restarts in normal mode, which hangs then.  I'm stuck.  Boy the days where I wish I could just make the prompt C:\.  Thank you.

You can connect your problematic hard drive to another PC to copy your important data, using a device such as:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16812161002

    or

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16812119244

I'm still not 100% convinced that you boot from the CD. Your Dell has the option of F12 to select a boot real-time device (as soon as you turn on the PC)? Also, remember that you have to "press any key to boot from the CD" when you see this screen! Of course, during a reboot, you start from the hard drive.

Even if you did everything by the book, a repair installation could easily 'loop' as you describe. But as long as your hardware is healthy, a clean install is done.

  • No signal when start and can't get into safe mode.

So, I have an E machine with microsoft xp on it. And last night I lost the signal of the monitor. But I just restarted it and she came back. But he started for about every five minutes after re boot. I put it in save mode, and he continued to do so. And then when I started again, there was a "serious error of microsoft" and I sent the error to microsoft, as well as something active desktop. Showing all the reasons of what can happen. My computer is really slow so I decided to just drive with flash reprogramming CD, I put in and restart it and I don't get any signal constantly even now when I reboot... Please help, thanks.

    Hi andreasburlet,

    ·         You see a message on the screen?

    ·         Have you checked for fine connections?

    ·         Do you want to say that you tried to reinstall Windows XP?

Method 1: Ensure that all connections on the monitor are tight.

Method 2: Connect and disconnect a RGB cable can help them as well and that could ensure a good signal. Look at the end of the cable to see if you have all the appropriate pins.

Method 3: You can also try with another monitor, if possible. It could also be your video card. See if it is connected. If you are not comfortable doing so, communicate with a known person.

  • Beep when starting and past in startup mode

Hello. I currently have problems associated with the startup mode. When I turn on my laptop, the laptop starts beeping loud and it automatically goes in boot by itself mode.  I, not having as much knowledge about the technology and do not know which of these options to choose from, I just pressed the Esc key and then my laptop automatically goes to the normal start screen and beeps constantly. I did no changes to my laptop and it's bugging me. BTW, my laptop is Lenovo G480 running on Windows 7. Is there a way I can disable this automatic start mode? Please help me.

The model of the beeps should help you diagnose the problem.  Sound signals are specific to the computer so when you find the boss go to Lenovo (or Google search of startup beep sense) and check the most likely cause
