    I have attached a single unit line just to show what Im doing.

    To get a good value S12 is correct. S11, you use a directional coupler as I mentioned previously. It is then connected to the parser, and you would need to put a load on one end of your network as well.

  • How can I fix: can't connect Ethernet0 to virtual network ' / dev/vmnet8?

    Hello friends,

    I'm in a huge bind.  I use VMWare for businesses.  Innocently, I downloaded the update.  However, this update made my network unavailable.  My Internet works perfectly well on Mac OS x, but I can't use it on VMWare.  Here is my post:

    VMWare says:

    Ethernet0 cannot connect to virtual network ' / dev/vmnet8.

    More information can be found in the vmware.log file.
    Unable to connect the virtual device Ethernet0.

    XP says:

    Limited or no connectivity: you will not be able to access the internet or a network resource.  This problem occurred because the network has not assigned a network address for the computer.

    I tried the repair feature that says:

    Windows is taking the following steps: renewing your IP address.

    Results: Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be validated: renewing your IP address.  Contact the person who manages your network.

    I changed nothing in my development in addition to be adjusted for the update.  This has been the only change

    Please please help.  This made my trade to stop.  I am very grateful for any help I can get!

    Shutdown, not, suspend the Virtual Machine and then restart the Mac and then run the Virtual Machine again.

    The Virtual Machine has network connectivity now?

    Otherwise I would like to uninstall VMware Fusion 3.1.3 and then install VMware Fusion 3.1.2 as there has been some reports of lost connectivity network with VMware Fusion 3.1.3 which where not able to solve and to revert to the previous version has allowed users to continue working.

  • no connectivity between the virtual machines on the guest only network

    I have trouble getting the network connectivity between two Windows 7 computers using a guest only network virtual in VMware Player.  Each virtual machine is able to get a (unique) IP address via dhcp and can ping itself and the bridge, but could not reach the other system.  I looked on my host computer adapter VMnet1 in Wireshark and saw incoming icmp packets in, but nothing is returned new.  My vmnetdhcp.conf file is unchanged with the exception to add a line to set the default gateway on my guests.  It was an attempt to solve this problem, and the same behavior was observed before changing anything.  Here are the details for this network segment:

    subnet 192.168.184.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {}
    range 192.168.184.128 192.168.184.254;            # by default allows up to 125 VM
    option broadcast-address 192.168.184.255;
    option domain-name-servers 192.168.184.1.
    option domain-name "localdomain".
    routers option 192.168.184.1;  # This is the line, I added
    by default-lease-time 1800;
    Max-lease-time 7200;
    }
    host VMnet1 {}
    Hardware ethernet 00:50:56:C0:00:01;
    fixed-address 192.168.184.1;
    option domain-name-servers 0.0.0.0.
    option domain-name ";
    }

    Is there a problem with my configuration somewhere, or is it just a limitation of VMware Player?

    You may need to allow ICMP traffic of WF with Windows 7 as OS.

  • Networking between virtual machines on different hosts

    Hello

    I need some advice on the basic approach to networking between virtual machines, each running on a different host machine.

    Consider the following configuration:

    I have a few processes that are running in a Machine virtual Ubuntu. Call this guest1.  I guest1 race inside a real computer running Windows XP SP3 and VMware Workstation 7.x; Call this host 1.

    I have a copy of this virtual machine that I put on another machine.  Call this Guest2.  I have Guest2 running on a separate physical computer, also runs Windows XP SP3 and VMware Workstation 7.x; Call this host 2.

    Now, I would like to guest1 and 2 comments to make networking with eachother.  I wish they were able to ping, SSH, etc., among others.

    This is where I am stuck. I tried setting the virtual machines to use the bridged network mode.  I tried to connect my router on each computer and manually assigning IP addresses to each host and each virtual computer.  When I do this, guest1 can Host1 and Host2 ping, but cannot ping Guest2 and vice versa.

    What is the right way to do this kind of network?  This seems like an obvious application, if you want to perform simulations on multiple virtual machines residing on different computers on the network.

    I apologize if this is the answer elsewhere, I had to dig and was not able to find the solution.

    Thanks in advance!

    Charles

    Guests must be on the same subnet, like 'real' hardware machines.

    1 when you copied the VM and then started, what did answer you the question of copy/move? (this determines if a new MAC address is applied)

    2 view each guest and ' ipconfig/all' results 'ifconfig - a' by the hosts.

  • Help to connect two virtual machines to internal network

    Hi all

    I have 9 of VMware Workstation, and I installed two identical WinXP VMs. I put them both on the same custom netowrk (VMnet3) setting. In the virtual network on my Win7 host editor I updated VMnet3 'Host-only (connect VMs internally in a private network)', and I have left empty the box "Connect an adapter to the virtual host to this network".

    What I'm trying to do is to connect the two virtual WinXP only between them, a small connection internal, so that a VM could ping on the other virtual computer, but cannot connect to my Win7 (real internet) host.

    Now both show WinXP that they are connected (the icon of the internet with two small screens is there), and they both have an IP assigned. However, does not ping one of them to another IP address.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    When you create a virtual machine, by default VirtualBox allows virtual network card and selects the "Network Address Translation" (NAT) mode for it. In this way the guest can connect to the outside world using the networking of the host and the outside world can connect to services on the feedback that you choose to make visible outside of the virtual machine.

    This default configuration is good probably 95% of users of VirtualBox. VirtualBox is, however, extremely flexible in how it can virtualize networks. It supports multiple virtual NICs per virtual machine, the first four that can be configured in detail in the Manager window. Additional network cards can be configured on the command-line with VBoxManage.

    I found the problem (s), even if I am always left with a few questions.

    During this process, I have disabled the firewall, but that did not help. However, I noticed 'tweaks' accessed via the tab 'Advanced' in 'Microsoft Firewall' which looked like, they must be checked in order to access the internet. I checked these and reintroduced the firewall. After I got things working, I unchecked them and things still worked so I obviously don't understand what these parameters.

    The solution:

    (1) I have to go straight from the modem cable to the computer. I can't have a cable modem, router wireless, computer, even if using hard wire, and even if this same configuration works with another computer. Also, I can't use a cable length to go from modem to the computer. So, it seems to have had a problem of cable length. Power problem? Only connected to this computer devices are the mouse, the keyboard and the Ethernet. Would not this be fixed with an upgrade of the power supply? Or is it due to the quality of the Ethernet hardware on the motherboard? It's a Dell Vostro 200.

    (2) in back and forth between configurations while following the problem, you must think to unplug the modem to reset between each configuration. You may have stumbled upon the solution, otherwise he's not shot. Also, I unplugged the cable from the modem when you reset data cable - do not know if it was necessary. I wanted to limit the degrees of freedom that I had a lot, as it was.

  • Problem of password of account, without that we can connect to the network on this computer. The error indicates, "the trust relationship between this device and the network is no longer valid.

    Hi, I hope you can help with this problem. A friend has 6 computers networked to a Tower Server and have a problem. A worker student put computers into hibernation, and since then, nobody can connect to the network on this computer. The error indicates, "the trust relationship between this device and the network is no longer valid. I tried to get into the pc to try removing network and replace it, but I can't get on the Administrators account because it has been disabled. I'm at a loss on how to proceed. My friend cannot afford a service call, so I'll try to help him.  Thank you

    If the computer is on a domain then there are at least two accounts that can be used to remove the computer from the domain:

    • A domain administrator account.
    • A local administrator account.

    When your friend has launched Windows for the first time after buying the machine, he was prompted to enter the name of an account. This account is created automatically with administrator privileges. He should use it now.

  • To connect to a network using Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter

    I have a laptop windows 7 and I found the so-called map of Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport, I don't know what it's for, but I don't know that it's a virtual wireless card.

    But I can't connect to a network to use it. and I don't know how to connect to a network.
    I DO NOT have any errors, but I just want to know what it's for. :-)
    Thank you.

    Its uses the wireless function integrated hostednetwork that transforms your computer equipped with wireless (WiFi) in a wireless router/access point. I use this feature to connect an iPod Touch (4th generation) wireless internet via my laptop while traveling in places where there is no wireless internet access, but it is wired internet access, IE. to some hotel/motels for example.

    The adpater is not normally used to connect to wireless networks. This work is for your hardware integrated wireless (WiFi).

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/view-and-connect-to-available-wireless-networks

    Interface based on FWIW you can make use of the hostednetwork function by configuring using netsh wlan set hostednetwork of command line commands or use free programs such as Connectify and virtual router that uses a graphical interface.

  • Changing the connections of bridge without virtual network Editor

    I wish I could change the bridged network adapter without using the virtual network Editor, i.e. via a script or VIX. COM.

    The only files I found related to the virtual network editor are those located in the C:\ProgramData\VMware\, which none does not seem to allow me to specify the actual card to use in the bridge. While these files allow to specify which virtual network to use, I have to go a little further and change the real device for the virtual network. So instead of change between 'vmnet0' or "vmnet1", I need to change the NIC vmnet0 uses.

    I am running VMware Workstation 8.0.4 on Windows 7 64 bit.

    Thank you

    Luke

    On the Windows 2003 hosts, I used to do it like this:

    net stop vmnetbridge
    -then regedit key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VMnetBridge\Parameters\Adapters
    -When does
    net start vmnetbridge

  • Network connections between VM and host is slow?

    I have problems with the speed between the host and the VM, connections is limeted and very slow. I'll open the file and copy and it's slowly. My OS is VISTA Business and VM on XP SP3. Connection between VM card is limited to me and see that trafficking is not very practical. If this can be rectified and speed up the connection between the virtual machine and the host.

    As I have written, you can use both at the same time. Just add a host connection only to the guest and make sure name resolution, host name (and the name of the client to the host) using the IP addresses assigned by DHCP VMWare Server for the host only (VMnet1, default) connection. The file "\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" ensures that this connection will be used, for example.

  • No network connection on virtual machines

    Hello everyone

    I recently installed vmware workstation 10.0.2, created a few machines left the network settings of the default adapter (NAT)

    machines are running well, but I cant just internet access on any of them

    on my machine using the network host private wifi

    and I have the public network, with the network adapters VMnet1 and VMnet8 (obtain an ip automatically)

    Help, please! Maybe im just over worked and studied more.

    Grateful for any help!

    > and I have the public network, with the network adapters VMnet1 and VMnet8 (obtain an ip automatically)

    These two virtual network cards must have private addresses, i.e. 192.168.xxx.1. If this isn't the case and/or NAT VM do not receive a DHCP subnet vmnet8 lease, you can try to click on the button "Restore Default" of the "Virtual Network Editor".

  • I can connect to my network, but with access "local only".

    Access to the "Local" network only
    I can connect to my network, but with access "local only".  Internet became more intermittent (not sure if that is related or if I guess it) and did not work in several weeks.  Desktop computer is plugged into the router, but have the same problem when it is plugged into the DSL modem.  Other computers on the same router (wireless or other) work very well.  Recently, I removed Mcaffee and installed MS security essentials.  I uninstalled mcaffee of programs and settings then used the mcaffee removal tool to lighten the rest.  I uninstalled and reinstalled MS security essentials.  I thought it might be a firewall issue, but I get error 0x6D9 when I try to start it.  I tried all the steps in the following post, nothing helps.  Any other suggestions?

    You can follow the steps below and check if that helps you solve the problem.

    Method 1

    Try to power cycle the router and the computer and check if it helps.

    On the PC:

    1. Save your work and restart the machine.

    On the router or modem (if wireless printing):

    1. Unplug the router and the modem.
    2. Wait 30 seconds.
    3. Plug in the modem and wait for it to come to the ready state.
    4. Plug in the router.

    After you put cycle check the connection between the router and the computer.

    Method 2

    If the steps above do not help, you mayreset TCP/IP stack. To reset access the link below and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357

    Disable the IP helpdesk:
    1 hold the Windows key and type R, type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press enter
    2. scroll down to the IP assistance service, right-click on it and select Properties
    3. in the drop-down list box that says "Automatic" or "Manual", set it to disabled and then click 'apply '.
    4. then click on "Stop" to stop the service from running in the current session
    5. click on OK to exit the dialog box

    Method 3

    Disable IPv6 and remove IPv6 virtual cards:

    Try to uninstall IPv6 on all interfaces, the removal of virtual cards of IPv6 and reset the TCP/IP stack. To remove the IPv6, go to the properties for each network adapter, and deselect the check box next to the Protocol "Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6), which will turn off, or select it and click on uninstall, which withdraw power off the computer.» Then go into Device Manager and remove any 4to6 adapters, adapters miniport WUN or tunnel adapters.
    NOTE: You should do this for each network connection, even if they are disabled.
