    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I don't know it must be frustrating!

Let us try these steps and see if that fixes the problem:

    (a) press Windows + R keys to open search Run

    (b) type regedit , and then click ok

    go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\BFE

    c) on the right, click it, click permissions

    (d) click on ADD and type everyone and click ok

    (e) now click on all

    (f) below, you have permissions for users, select full control and click ok

g keys) press Windows + R to open Run Search

    (h) type services.msc , and then click ok

    (i) double-click base filtering engine service.

    (j) Make sure that the service status is started and the startup type is automatic

    (k) the procedure for the windows firewall service

    (l) click on apply and Ok.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information:

    Back up the registry:

  • Share a folder for the backup of the server

I have a Dell Windows 2008 R2 server. Everything works great and we have only 1 program that we share within the office. Initially, the software company set up a batch file using robocopy to back up files on a removable drive. The drive is now small to fit the backup.

I have a computer on the network that has an external 1 TB drive connected to it for work that is stored specifically for this computer.
Is there an easy way, can I share a folder on the external drive of this computer and redirect the command of this hard drive backup file?
    Any help appreciated
    Thank you

You didn't say what o/s runs on the PC with the drive (or if it's in an AD environment), but the principle must be the same. If you right click the folder and select sharing, you should have a section there for safety. Go into that and give "Everyone" permissions Total.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to share a folder of Win 7 with a XP user

I'm trying to share a folder of Windows 7 on my network group to a Win XP computer user.  In Win 7, I chose a homegroup of the 'work' with the same network as the computer Win XP name.  I would like to only a specific XP user in order to access a password protected sharing folders Win 7.  When I right click on the folder, click on 'Sharing' and click 'Advanced sharing,' and click 'Share this folder' and click on 'Permissions' and click on 'Add', and I try to enter the user name XP networking "Enter the names of the objects to select", he always says that the object 'name is not found."  When I ping the XP network computer, he says.  How can I share files safely on a semi unreliable network to a XP computer?

Thanks for your help.  You reminded me about an option for XP that I didn't need to use some time.  I finally understood how network with Win 7 there is only an hour!  I was able to add a user to the permissions area by adding an account to my Windows 7 computer and then use it to log into the network folder in XP.  For files requiring an admin, I had to add the user account created to have rights to the folder.  Windows 7 dialog boxes and the features are slightly more complicated than XP.

Thank you once again, this case is closed for the moment.

    Thank you

  • "C:\Users" folder is shared when you share a folder in the directory?

So everyone seems familiar with this problem, but has anyone seen an answer yet?  I've been whinging about it since the launch of Vista, but I am yet to see a resolution that does not involve a work around.  I was surprised to start seven RC and find the same question he still had.

I'll reiterate for those who want clarification (and warning)...

If you share a folder in the C:\Users directory, the displayed share will be the folder C:\Users (through which you will need to browse to find the folder you shared ACTUALLY).

Not only is this a major security design flaw, it represents also reflect seriously illogical on behalf of the Member States.

Advanced use of sharing seems to overcome this deficiency (only the folder you share ACTUALLY appears) however I have noticed even apparently random times the C:\Users folder appears shared despite exclusively using the advanced sharing?

In any case, I wanted to raise the issue again in the hope that somehow, somewhere, someone could provide information about the position of MS in this regard, and if there is no intention to solve.

    Hi Windza,

Probably, there is no permanent solution to this problem. Therefore, we would like you to send your comments to http://mymfe.microsoft.com/Windows%20%207/Feedback.aspx?formID=195&UrlReferrer =

  • Cannot share the folder on the server of TMS

We need to share a folder under WIN2K3 OS of the TMS server for backup purposes. the option of sharing tab is missing on the properties of files, file sharing and printing to have activated the network properties but the Server Service is disabled. is there a reason why server is disable by default, the service is done on purpose for a reason or is it OK to activate it?

This should not be a problem.

  • Can I share a folder to iCloud by car?

I am now on MacOS, and I was wondering if I can share a link to a folder that is located on iCloud drive to friends?

    Thank you!

Non - iCloud drive and folder structure is strictly for sharing with a single account.

For some documents iWork and photos, you can share them individually or by the addition of a person to a shared photo album, but which is based on the design of the app and not a broader based folder file sharing idiom.

You can use the MailDrop Apple feature to each file by e-mail to recipients who need to share the file, but it is not something that has hosted and really shared in the sense that a change in the file by a user would then translate on the cloud.
