Share libraries of the ADF in the development environment

We use Jdeveloper 11.1.2.1 on Windows and Linux workstations.

Is it possible to access shared ADF libraries using a Connection of URL in the range of resources? When I create a login URL to the location of the URL of our libraries, I see no library file.
All of the documentation I have read refers to creating a connection to file system, but this does not work well when some users use Linux as their desktop. In this case, we cannot class paths to match.

No focus on simplifying access to the libraries of the ADF during development would be appreciated.

Thank you

We use two approaches to reference libraries of the ADF during development.

(a) with the help of a shared network folder and JDeveloper all workspaces are directed towards it. We use Hudson automatic library updating whenever a SVN change is a reality.
(b) developers use scripts ojdeploy or maven to generate dependencies themselves.

Both approaches have strengths and weaknesses, so a choice is a matter of specific development environment,

Hope this helps,

  • Why build application vi works in the development environment, but not in the executable file; error 1025

    Hello

I have a request ('A') that I am trying to build another application ("BuildA").

I can create a request for A manually of its project using the Build specification, and it works fine (A.exe).

Also, when I run BuildA.vi in the development environment he calls the "Build.vi" properly and again generates application A.exe very well.

Then, when I ask BuildA (manually) and run BuildA.exe, I would expect that it also creates A.exe as BuildA.vi did in the development environment.

However, it fails with the error:

    Code: 1025

Reference VI opened in .vi NI_App_Builder_API.lvlib:Build (path)-> BuildA.vi
    Path of the VI: C:\TEMP\AppBuild\BuildA\vi.lib\AppBuilder\BuildTarget.vi

I noticed this thread , which looks like a similar problem, but has reached no conclusion.

Why BuildA.vi works fine in the LabVIEW environment, but the application that builda.exe does not work?  All paths are hard-coded, so it shouldn't be a path problem.

    Thank you

There are still other options.  Lets say configure you VI to run then.  If you ran the following command from your script line

    "C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\LabVIEW.exe" "C:\BuildA.vi".

It would then open your BuildA.vi in LabVIEW and run in the development environment.

  • NEITHER Spy works only in the development environment?

NEITHER Spy works on LabView (executables) stand-alone applications deployed (using VISA vi), or NI Spy works only in the development environment? It might be useful for debugging of deployed applications.

If the answer is Yes (which I doubt), OR would have to create an installer for it since currently it is no longer available as an add-on.

    Thank you

    Ed

    Edjsch,

You can install VISA as a standalone w/o LabVIEW. Spy is not a stand-alone installer because it does nothing in itself. That's why we always package it with a driver or application software.

Yes, you can automate the installation of the PT client to your end users. Running that a simple batch file install PT customer on any system, here are the details

  • Size of RAM required for Soa Suite 11 g in the development environment?

    Hi all

I have a question about the optimal size of RAM required for soa suite suite 11 g in the development environment. I can see the facility of documents which

    Logic of Web-> 2 GB
SOA Suite(soa server and BAM server on web logic) - > 2 GB
    Developer of J-> 1 GB

A total of 5 GB, since we are new to 11g we're not sure, cannot therefore anyone who uses the comment 11g on the optimal RAM necessary for execution of soa suite 11 g with the developer of J.

    Thank you

Try to have a separate for the SOA Suite, for example the server machine. Then use JDev developer machines.

It really comes down to how much load you put on your environment. I would recommend 4 GB but I ran fine with only 2 GB. The question of having JDev on the same machine is that JDev can very very hungry memory and can / will affect developer experience.

  • steps to update of application in the development environment runtime environment

    Hello

I have APEX 4.2.6 development environment and same version runtime environment.  There is little change, which happened in the forms and the underlying objects in the DB (developing approx.).  Help me please in the list of the steps needed to apply these changes to the runtime approx.  To my knowledge, I should 1st sync DB objects and then take application export development and import at run time.

Can you let me know how to synchronize objects DB?  Dump export and import is not possible because "runtime" environment has the most recent data changes.  Otherway is to make changes to the DB object individually and manually.  Is it possible that this can be done using scripts/tools?

And what about import application?  Is it just connect to the 'runtime' DVRs. SQLPLUS and run @f110.sql?  Please let me know the exact steps.

    Thank you and best regards,

    -Anand

    Hi anand_gp,

You mean (for the import of application), I need to execute all the steps below to update the existing application (get the workspace ID, approx. set ID, etc.,)?

And thank you to provide links on how to modify objects in the DB.  I'll go through them.

Yes, and it will create a new application in your workspace.

If you want to have the same id of the application (whether it is your production application), you can delete the existing application using APEX_INSTANCE_ADMIN. REMOVE_APPLICATION (remember to commit after each step) and then import with above in the light of the steps.

If you want to have both the old and the new application in your production work space, you can use the alias of the application while publishing the URL.

When you deploy a new version of the application, simply change the alias of the application, so that it becomes your current application.

    I hope this helps!

    Kind regards

    Kiran

  • Choice of the development environment

We are launching a major web application development project, and as usual, we are facing a question of choice of development environment.

    We have 2 options:

    1 MS Visual Studio 2005 ASP.Net, c# (.Net)
    2 flex and its components.

Ours is a big data OLTP application; but looks are too important. dorsal is oracle and has approximately 200 paintings and we have about 15 tables of major transaction that contains on average 5 million documents.

That, you people think is the right approach? If you need more information, please let me know.

    jmaruti

DAVO, my lead developer agrees with you on the argument that the FDS being expensive, is totally false.

    > Because it allows some radically cut development time and is indeed, as you say, cheaper than the other JMS solution.

SDS has not scale is another false claim:

    > Because it's a bunch of servlets in a JAR that are running on a WebSphere or WebLogic application server and there are many other technologies based on servlets that serve millions of users every day. SDS scale.

  • Prevent the child class dependency when the conditional use disable to specify the class in the development environment

    Hello

I develop an application that I want to run on the normal systems and in real time using LabVIEW Proffesional Development System 2012 SP1

To control how the application interacts with the user, I created a class that defines the type of user interface behavior that should allow me to have nice dialog boxes when the system is running on a machine windows and no dialog box (or any other friendly code in non-real time) if they sail on a real-time target.

The parent class is the code that suits the actual time and the class of the child is the one with dialog boxes.

To control the class of which it is responsible, I have a structure conditional disable. It works fine when the application is built in an executable or executable file in real time, but the problem arises when I want to use the code during development on the target in real time.

I think that with the application under a target in real time (RT PXI), the proper case of the conditional - disable is enabled for the parent class is used, but the child classes are also listed under dependencies - I pressume it's because they exist on the block diagram in the case of persons disabled conditional turn off the diagram.

This means that I can't deploy the code on the target in real time as it is unhappy with the class of the child code - even if it will never run.

To save the poster my real project, I created an example with a Parent and child class and a flag to disable conditional 'class' to illustrate the problem.

If you run Test.vi, you will see that the child class always gets locked (i.e. is addictive) while running even if it is not called.

So - basically my question is: is what I can do about it or will I enough to disable it with conditionals and simply put the constant to correct class on the block diagram in the tests?

    Thanks in advance

    John.

I feel your pain.  I came across something similar some time back.

Apparently official NOR position is that you have to put a conditional structure of Disable IN EVERY ONE OF YOUR CLASS live.  In the Windows screws, you simply have a case of empty disable conditional with the windows code in another case and vice versa on the RT.

I also much prefer the method you describe...

  • deployed for QA (test) of the development environment

    Hi all

I have a (name of the project main dw) project with several files, each folder represents a project (as mini - data warehouse and another transform file with different features of the DW).

I'm having the problem unfolds to QA (testing) environment, which must be all the codes as well as developing.
Could you please let me know how to export and import on the file and the associated objects (variable and KM).

I tried with the folder only, but missed all the variables(over 20) and all the KM (about 10), now I need to export these 30 files.

Is it possible to this individual to migrate through solutions, file

any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

have you tried a smart export/import?
Solution does not work at the level of the folders, but if you drag the complete project to the solution, then, it will take all of the associated component (variable/file/km, etc.).

  • . Alias files work with vi running in the development environment?

NEITHER Documentation mentions how it works for the casting of the exe.

OK now I can answer my own question... Yes they do.  The alias file is located adjancent to the project file and inherits the name of the project.

    Everything works as expected.

  • Cannot connect to the development environment after changing the password successfully.

    Hello

I was the Admin for an APEX (5) tool (hosted by apex.oraclecorp.com).

    I forgot the password.
So, when I clicked on the change in usual password and received the email. I was able to change the password and when checked in the re-login, it didn't quite work.

Yet once I clicked on reset password so this time, when I pasted the link to my mail it showed the error below.

"Session state protection violation: this can be caused by a manual change to a URL containing a checksum or using a link with a missing or incorrect checksum." If you don't know what caused this error, contact the administrator of the application for assistance.

    Contact your application administrator.

Since then, I am not able to access the App.

    No work around for this?

    Help is very appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi PKMRAO,

the password reset link you get in email is specific to the session of the APEX where your asked to reset. When you click on reset the password, leave this window open, is not it not nowhere elsewhere to sail. Wait until you get the mail and then open the link in the same browser.

  • Bug apex 3.1.1 in the development environment on the interactive report page?

This may have been fixed in 3.1.2 so please ignore if it is.

    Try this:

1 modify a report with an interactive report.
    2. go in the report attributes tab for IR.
    3. Select "back to Page".
    4) click the icon of change in one of the columns.

I find that it always returns me to the attributes tab of the report instead of take me to the page editor for this column.

Is it just me or I come across a bug?

    Stew,

And has now been set for the next release. As an additional note, this bug also affected edition "column groups".

  • VI considered non-executable runtime LV, correct in the development of LV

My current problem is the following:

On the same PC, with TestStand 4.0 and development of LabVIEW 8.5, I try to run a sequence with two adapters: 8.5 LV and LV DURATION 8.5 development.

My sequence no call screw complete this call subVIs in a hierarchy (let's say 1500 screws are involved in a test sequence).

The sequence works with the adapter of development, and with the runtime, I got an error like LabVIEW-18002: Vi not executable, broken, etc.

Of course, when I open the VI in the development environment, everything is correct.

I tested the two cards on the same PC, full hierarchy, including libraries provided with development of LV LV is in the same place.

Due to the large amount of screws that I use, I can't guess LLB can be missing or inaccessible.

Is there a way to investigate the cause, despite the fact that everything is correct under the development environment?

Is it possible to indicate the LV runtime where it should search the LLBs or other dependencies that the development of LV seams to be able to find?

Thanks in advance for your help,

    JJD

Yes, it was a problem of subVIs sharing the same name (someone has copied and adapted some of the code).

After cleaning of code and a compiled all mass is back to normal...

Note: the problem appeared with LabVIEW and screw closed before running the sequence in both cases.

    Thanks for your help.

  • LV 8.6f1 - different decimal point to the development & exe

    Hello

In my program I want to use the decimal point '. ' and not the local symbol of the PC.

So, I turned this option in the category "FAÇADE".

In the development system, it works very well on the screen and in the recorded data (*.lvm & *.xls) files the "."  will be used.

But when I create a my program exe file it will be always used a ',' as the decimal separator (on the same computer and screen in all the saved data files).

    Can someone help me?

    Jan

    LV 8.6f1

The option is stored in the file LabVIEW.ini. This is what is used by the development environment. When you build an exe, the exe is using application_name.ini. So copy the configuration ini (useLocalDecimalPt = False) to application_name.ini, and who understand the distribution of your application.
