  I was able to solve the problem and now able to generate SOAP based web services successfully.

  The problem has been resolved by updating the hosts file with the IP address for the SOA Suite server VM.

  You will get disks from Apple for a machine this old / your best bet is eBay to try to find a defined detail. The max OS is 10.4 that is several years old and not supported in some way. You can see that your son can't do much with this iMac. Wireless connectivity was an option on this model, so it cannot have an Airport card installed.
