  I think that you will need to make a copy in two steps to achieve this:

  Copie-DatastoreItem 0) to a staging location (say, local file system running PowerCLI)

  (1) an another copy DatastoreItem call to copy from the intermediate location in the destination data store in the destination vCenter

  I think the best way would be to export to the FVO and import it into the new VCenter or use SCP from host to host.  If it's a different cluster/datacenter in the VCenter even, you can rotate upward and then reset the network label.

  Servers dashboards - management - Goto - data management server, expand model VMware - virtual centres.

  Then you will see all your vCenters and also when the data was last updated, when you have determined that you you want to get rid of the button Delete (red circle with less in it).

  I shared LUN for ESXi host and now I want to have a shared LUN for my VMs too how can I do?

  Logic unit number that I want to do shared is already shared between my esx hos, can now do the same LUNS shared between my VMs? Is this possible?

  Tring to use RDMS, but when I assign shared my LUN shared for ESX host so not able to assign the same to another virtual computer that is located on another host ESX ESX LUN to my VM, its goingfrom

  Once you have assigned to a virtual machine the RDM will be disppear. However as a virtual mode, there is a hard pointer created in the data store. then go on host2 make sure he has access to the LUN, and then add the pointer hard on the virtual computer via the existing disk option.

  We currently have a 3.5 divisΘe in farms host.

  Farms, they are further broken into clusters

  Y at - it problems with sharing LUNS between clusters in the same farm.

  I don't think that it is a good idea, but I can't seem to find any documentation indicating one or the other.

  Of course you must have shared LUNs within the cluster.  But it seems that you ask if you must share LUNS between clusters.  Yes at least one logical unit number.  This way if you need to move virtual machines between clusters, you can.  And of course you mentioned your lun model.

  The following script will remove all alarms on al visible features

  $alarmManager = Get-View AlarmManager
  $alarms = $alarmManager.GetAlarm($null)
  $alarms | %{
       $alarm = Get-View $_
       $alarm.RemoveAlarm()
  }
  

  Note that this does not remove the alarms on the entities hidden like data centers, the host and the vm.

  And please test in an environment out of production first!

  There is no way to recover a deleted alarm.

• Management of VMs: Which one to use, "hosts and Clusters" or "models and virtual computers.

  Hi all

  As the subject says, when you manage virtual machines, which is better to use? Hosts and Clusters? Models and virtual computers?

  It's our facility:

  Previously we had only been using "Hosts and Clusters" manage all of our virtual machines. We organize objects of the individual within vApps and Resource Pools. We had also installation on these both parent objects permissions for who has access to what.

  Basically, we have about 12 members. Everyone has their own virtual machines that they use for training, etc. We manage centralized via AD with users and groups user access. We also have some users assigned to some hosts to maintain the level of things between the two hosts. Our license does not DRS, BTW.

  I just replaced our server vCenter in preparation for our 4.1 vSphere upgrade later this year, Yes, we are on vSphere 4.0 currently. So I went ahead and 'computers models and virtual"allowing to create user folders, gave users access and placed virtual machines of all users within these folders. (I heard recently that the use of the hosts and Clusters was semantically incorrect). Even if they have access to their folder, they cannot create a virtual machine because they cannot access a host. A computer file virtual and models can be assigned to a host?

  I didn't assign permissions to each user in order to add to each host, because I didn't want others to mess with other virtual machines. All users previously red access only, but sinc the virtual machines and templates folders are not assigned to any host, they can get in their folder to create and manage their virtual machines.

  Then, I go on this wrong all the models and virtual computers and do I just keep using our hosts and Clusters of installation above permissions groups?

  Any advice on the semantics in this would be appreciated.

  All,

  I solved my problems.

  Check book Scott Lowes ' Mastering VMware vSphere 4 "Chapter 9, he described the use of Resource Pools to the VM group under the view of the hosts & Clusters. Using the same names as the files under VMs & models and adding the same permissions, I was able to force every user to use their own folder under VMs & templates and only their Resource Pool under hosts & Clusters. So now the two views reflect the objects of each user and their access controls are correct.

  Items to remove this Lessines:

  Use Of Resource Pools under host & Clusters to manage the default host for users.

  Files under VMs & models allows you to manage virtual machines model announcement for each user (simple view).

• How can I block sharing folders on a virtual machine?

  I have a virtual machine running Win7 and a WinXP running. I need to isolate the version of WinXP shared folders, because it is ruin an installation of Visual c++ + / Dark GDK.

  I WANT the VM Win7 to share files with my Mac. I don't WANT the WinXP VM to share folders. How can I do this? If I disconnect the network in the Windows XP machine folder, when I restart it, it pops up again.

  Well, you could just stop the sharing folders in the Virtual Machine settings.

  the shared LUN feature is really good and sufficient to test the CARS. Personally, I would put the memory for images of node RAC, because 11 GR 2 needs more RAM than 10g.

  But it depends, on what you exactly you want to test. If it's just for holiday CARS with LUN shared experience.
  If you want to test the storage or payments NFS/drop down, then Openfiler is probably better...

  We have two remote esx host and I loaded first virtual Center on a virtual computer to host1.

  Host1 is esx3.5 and

  Host2 is esx4.0 and the two hosts have different hardware profiles.

  Virtual Center seems honestly scary.

  I started by creating a data center and adding these two hosts under him. Then I created a cluster in this datacenter and host1 and host 2.

  I want to move a work of host1 active virtual machine to host 2 so I can spend host1 esx4.0

  How can I move it? Help, please

  We will all live a virtual life...

  In order to have the VMotion to work, you must first have allowed valid for this and allow a cluster that meet the requirements of the CPU and see both shared storage.  You must create a shared LUN iSCSI/NFS for stage of temporary migration and Storage VMotion to move of Eve disk iSCSI/NFS LUN (the two hosts must see the same storage).  If this isn't the case, you can do it with cold migration.

  Yes, side (for VMFS datastore) vmkernel and VM (for iSCSI inside a virtual machine drive).

  You can share a CIFS/NFS between two or more VM share.

  But not a disc, because NTFS is not not cluster aware.

  But you can use Microsoft Failover Cluster to 'share' this disc.

• How can I set sharing of files between two iMacs?

  I want to set up the sharing of files between two iMacs in my office. Both work on iOS 10.11.3 and both are on the same WiFi network. I'll Finder, select the name of the other computer under 'sharing', then ' connect under... ". ", and then enter the name and password of the other computer. On a computer, I am told that it is connected with each other. However, the second computer always shows "the connection failed". I tried the 'Registered user' choice of "Guest" and "using Apple ID", but none will establish the connection. There must be something obvious that I'm missing, but I wasn't able to find out. I also tried to see if they would communicate with Bluetooth. Bluetooth screens on each computer show the the other is detectable by the proper name, but is never establish a connection.
