• Evaluate Captivate at home when I installed it at work.

  I have a licensed copy of Captivate installed on my computer at work. I work at home today and wanted to start looking at the product, so I downloaded it hoping that I could install a trial version on my home workstation.

  Of course Adobe found my license and it seems that Captivate using the download that I install as I type this. I really don't want to do anything to cancel my license to work. Is there a way I can install only an in-home evaluation copy - explore it for a few days - and then uninstall it without messing up my copy licensed to work?

  You can install two machines with the same license. Or you can try a different Adobe ID for a trial version. Since you don't specify or version number, nor the type of license, a little difficult to give more information.

• Firewall exception for Captivate 9 new

  Whenever I run 9 Captivate my system wants a firewall exception for captivatenews. The only way this stops is by disabling the firewall, but the firewall must be on for me to work remotely. FYI, I'm not a sys admin, my organization is an it company. So far could not solve. I see 8 Captivate has had this bug. Is there a solution so that I don't have to wait to cancel the alert?   Hi Diana,

  Please go to your installed folder and search the file AdobeCaptivate.ini.

  Cope and stick this on your desktop. Edit this file and set UseEdgeInspect = 0 instead of 1, save it and paste it into the location of Captivate installed.

• Captivate 8 isssue of edition: Bug or settings?

  I'm a little confused by your question: you're talking about visualization of a CP file published on an iPad? On iPad, you can't Captivate installed, you can have that Captivate projects such as an application, but it is for CP9 only.   We have Adobe Captivate installed 8.0.0.145 Windows 7 x 64 v.

  Activate Adobe crashes with the following error: a fatal error has occurred and the execution of the application took end. Adobe Captivate one attempts to save all of your work in the respective folders of the project as cpbackup files.

  I uninstalled Adobe Acptivate, rebooted the PC and reinstalled activate Adobe - unresolved error.

  I have cleared the cache under settings, clear the cache - unresolved error.

  The update should be available to help, updated. It is available since October 2014.

  Being administrator is not the same thing as Captivate running as an administrator that must be put in place in the menu right click on the shortcut that launches Captivate. You have restricted functionality if this is not done.

  I told you how to clear preferences, with the file Utils. First close Captivate, when you restart CP will create a new preferences folder.

  A patch would be appreciated to Adobe.  We are trying to launch a project of e-learning of Captivate on July 31, 2014.

  After reading blog after blog, I discovered the Captivate team changed the variable "cc" to "CP" in the API.  With the previous version of Captivate installed 7 caused the error for the variable javascript missing "cp".  Uninstall the previous version of Captivate and publish the presentation, once again resolved the conflict.

• Captivate 8 Installer Win 8 never finished initialization

  I've upgraded to a new computer with Windows 8. I downloaded 8 Captivate and allowed packets create the installation directory. I use a SSD boot drive, and I want to install applications to a secondary drive. I'm following the instructions in the Readme document.   This is once again the update definitive on the subject, in case someone runs into something similar.

  The issue was not with the Captivate installation on a secondary road. I had another secondary drive which was originally the huge lag. After you have solved the problem with this one, Captivate installed as a champion.

  1. Use the Task Manager > tab performance to identify material that can ask questions.
  2. Resolve hardware problems.
  3. Try reinstalling the Captivate.

• Captivate - Publishing - AMT subsystem error

  I have the following error when I try to publish from a trial version of 7 Captivate.

  

  My organization has recently purchased licenses for several e-Learning products (Captivate, presenter, Connect, as well as a cloud connect server). In order to assess the interest, we are asked to use the trial version, and if we find the value, then we can apply for a license.

  I installed 7 Captivate. I have created a simulation. I can't publish the project. I tried to publish an Adobe connect server. Trying to publish to a Connect Server, I got the above message. I uninstalled Captivate, Media Encoder and other elements Captivate installed with himself.

  Thanks for the reply. Another Member, sexy, sent a separate answer. It seems that Adobe Media Encoder is not included with the demo version of Captivate. It is installed with the program. In the 1 instance it worked he should not have checked for authenticity before you encode the project. This makes sense since this is when I tried to publish on Acrobat Connect Pro that I received this error message.

  Rosalie my name is and I have used the trial version of 7 Cativate and now I just bought my license.

  It seems that everything is ok, but when I tried to put an interaction by using the button at the base of the left column I can't see interactions. See the legend below. However, I am able to put the interactions by clicking Insert > widget.

  

  I would appreciate if someone can help me with this problem. I missed something?

  What happens if you use the Insert menu > Interactions? Do you see the same white screen with no available interaction?

  If so, it seems that Captivate can not find to display interactions.

  Since you had a trial version of Captivate installed before this licensed version, I suggest that you rename or delete your preferences of Captivate file.  This can solve a lot of questions.

  There is a lot of discussion on this forum about it.

• Why the YouTube widget does not work?

  I have some difficulty working with the YouTube widget. Everything worked well with her two days ago (8/18), but since yesterday it stop working. All my colleagues are facing the same thing.   A few questions for you.

  Are you an edition to the HTML5 or SWF?

  Can you confirm that the widget is the most recent version? You can do this by clicking on the blue in the Properties Panel icon when you have the widget selected in the slide.

  

  The version should be 17. If not you will have to remove the widget from your slide, then reinsert the Interactions of learning.

  Also, can you confirm for me that the YouTube URL uses the correct structure? It should be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= and not the shortened structure https://youtu.be/ .

  The difference between F11 and F12 previews is F11 shows a preview using HTML5 and present F12 to preview using the Flash. The final publication should be the same as the preview of F11, if you are publishing on HTML5, but you need to run a local web server or publish the file published on a server to ensure that everything works the same. There are a few things that are happening in the published output requiring a web server in order to display correctly.

• Video backstage CP6 offline

  I created a training module, and includes 2 videos in different slides. He plays well when uploaded to Acrobat Connect Pro.

• Variable window does not open

  Someone at - he never encountered this?

  One of my colleagues can not open its window of Captivate 5 Variables. When he tries, Captivate freezes everything simply. Same thing if access from the menu of Captivate or inside the window advanced Actions.

  We seek to export all of the audio as a single file, so it can be brought into Adobe Premiere, be it in pieces is just not possible. Too labour intensive.
  
  I have not Captivate installed here as we use camtasia, but I have been asked if it would save time if we use Captivate to our training (of course I think we should!) but Camtasia record the audio as one long track. Which is what we need.
  
  

  Hi Marc,

  I hope you are using Captivate 4? If you are, then this feature is provided and you can export audio complete project (slides) for you. This feature is called 'Export to Podcast' and its available in two places inside Captivate.
  «1 once the slides are ready with audio, follow the menu ' file > export > export to Podcast»
  2. follow the menu items "Audio > edit project > export to Podcast»
  So, you can have a single file with your audio project, in a .wav or .mp3 format.

  Hopefully this will solve your problem.
