Should I expect the 64-bit version of 32bitor for my Windows 7 Ultimate? I have a Quad Core CPU.

32 bit 64 bit. Windows 7 Ultimate. Quad Core Samsung.

In general, it is preferable to use the 64-bit version, unless there are some very special reasons of not (for example, a critical piece of hardware that offers only one driver 32-bit).   He runs the 32-bit software and also allow the possibility of using 64-bit programs.  The 64-bit version can support more RAM and provides a path for growth in the longer term.

  • 32-bit version of vista compared to the 64-bit version

Hi just want to know if how and there I should install vista 64 bit on my PC and what are the requirements should my pc be for vista 64 currently, I use vista 32 bit os on my pc, but it doesn't seem to work properly, I have an intel core duo cpu E8400 @ 3 .00GHz with 4 GB of ram is this compatible for vista 64? If so how can I change to be 32-bit to a 64-bit version

    Hello Binn1980,

Thank you for posting.  The simple answer to your question is how both use ram.  The 32-bit version has a maximum limit of 4 GB of ram he sees, where as the 64-bit can see and use more than 4 GB of ram.  You should be fine with the 32-bit version, unless you install more than 4 GB of ram on your system.  Another thing is that the 64-bit version requires all device drivers to be 64 bit as well, which has not been fully adopted by all manufacters devices immediately.

  • "\?? \C:\Windows\Explorer.exe"cannot start or run due to incompatibility with the 64 bit version of windows

A friend gave me your laptop to watch - there edition family vista (64 bit (I think) on it and when you try to run Explorer he says it does not find or access is denied and something about 16 bit / 64 bit (it has been a few days and I'm not memory clearly until what I try again tonight)

"\?? \C:\Windows\Explorer.exe"cannot start or run due to incompatibility with the 64 bit version of windows"

If you try to run a dll / Panel or anything like that, you will get an error message saying that it cannot run some 16-bit process or access denied.

I did a lot of research on Google and nothing someone he said worked - which "everyone" giving full access to the C:\WINDOWS\Registration, executes a command secedit, a sfc/scannow, do a system restore to the point of older, make a new user account, start up in safe mode...

So now I'm pretty stuck. I'm SURE I've seen this problem before with reference to 16-bit etc error messages, but in home edition I do not have the MMC users & groups (had to make new user with password renew then that starts in another environment) or the Security tab of the properties of file/folder for permissions NTFS etc (had to use icacls).

Can someone enlighten us justice on that shiney? : o I don't want to have to redo the entire Setup, I'm sure it is something fixable...

Before charging, tell him from a prompt CMD (Administrator).
Go in the the C:/windows/system32 folder and type "Rename verclsid.exe verclsid.old.
    reset

I guess that I didn't that I had seen the name "verclsid.exe" in some of these error messages trying to run things.  I looked and saw it was to check the files or something.
Anyway I couldn't rename even in admin console so I started in a different environment and renamed the copy in system32 and syswow64.
Now, I've started and bang things seem to be ok! I guess I should try and replace it with a known working version? That or just give back it.
I doubt that everybody does all c:\windows control total should be too dangerous, right... just?  : P I don't have a way to put permissions by default anyway, so Hey.  Formatting beats!

Now why everyone here didn't it?  I knew it would be simple!  : p

    Then:
32-bit to 64-bit custom clean installation steps

You can use a disk upgrade, but you cannot make a room upgrade from a 32-bit system on a 64-bit system, the only way is to do a custom clean install. This means that you will have to reinstall all your programs, but you can save your files and settings on an external storage before that with Windows Easy Transfer. According to Microsoft the following steps:

    1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor ) to see if there are known issues that may affect the installation and the question of whether you should install the version of 32 or 64 bit Windows 7.

2 back up your files and settings. To avoid losing everything that you will need to save copies of all files, photos and other information that you want to keep an external hard drive. Windows Easy Transfer (http://windows.microsoft.com/windows-easy-transfer ) is a free tool that you can use to copy your information (but not programs) from your PC and then put them after installing Windows 7. If you do not have an external hard drive, you will not be able to use Windows Easy Transfer, instead you can copy the files you want to keep on a USB stick or CD/DVD.

    3. find the discs original installation and license/product keys associated to programs currently on your computer because you will have to manually reinstall your programs after installing Windows 7. You may be able to download programs from the Internet.

4 Medallion the Windows 7 DVD in your PC, reboot, start of the DVD. When asked "which type of installation do you want?" click "Custom (advanced)."

    5. when Windows 7 is installed, you can use Windows Easy Transfer to restore your files & settings and use your installation diskettes to install all your programs.

  • I want to install Photoshop cs5 (!) under Win7. Where can I download the 64-bit Version (German)?

Where can I download the 64-bit Version (German)?

    Thank you.

By the profile for Photoshop CS5:

Photoshop CS5.1 runs 64-bit native on platforms Mac OS X, Microsoft® Windows Vista® and Windows® 7. It can also operate in 32-bit mode on all platforms, including Windows XP. 64-bit users should realize significantly greater gains in performance, in some cases as dramatic as ten times the previous speed.

You can download the demo version of the software through the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.

Don't forget to follow the steps described in the Note: very important article Instructions on the pages to download to this site or the download may not work properly.

  • Uninstall the 32-bit version of Photoshop CC

Why should you install 32 & 64-bit versions of programs?  In InDesign and Illustrator, you can uninstall the 32-bit versions using the Windows uninstall program, but it won't let you do that in Photoshop; would be nice if one you were given the choice during installation to save your download quota and road space.

  • How to export the workspace that I put in place in CS6 32-bit for the 64-bit version?

I grew to accept that workspaces cannot be simply imported and exported from a previous version of the AI in the following. So I've painstakingly set up my workspace in the 32-bit version of Illustrator CS6, all signs put in place on 2 screens in the way I use them more eficiently depending on my personal workflow, thinking that the 64-bit version would have also the same workspace available, once I start it. Silly me! Why should I thought things could be so simple? Well OK, they do share workspaces - so how do I export my workspace I saved to HAVE 32-bit for the 64-bit version? This should be doable certainly - if we need to pass versions of course we want to maintain some consistency. But I can't figure out how. Help, please.

You must copy your file to workspace manually from the 32-bit version in the 64-bit version.

It is the location of CS5 mac (I'm at work), and the location of PC should be similar. Or do a search on your drive for the workspace name.

You will need to reboot for it to take effect. Woo will probably have to also export shares of 32-bit and load them into your version of 64-bit as well as popular as setting change paste remembers layers.

  • How to install PES 10 and end upward with the 64-bit version?

I just installed 10 PSE on my Win 7 64 bit system.  Reading these forums, I understand that the disc 2 of the 3 disc set contains the 64-bit version.  But aid installation referenced (and the disc itself labelling) clearly says 'start with disk 1' in both cases.  So I did this, expecting at some point to be invited to switch to disk 2.  But I've never been.  The default installation location is Program Files (x 86), I belatedly realize is the wrong file.  So I guess I have to uninstall and reinstall.

But what is the right way to get the 64 bit version?  Manually change the installation Program Files x 86 w/o location?  Launch disk 2 anyway, despite what says Adobe?  I haven't yet started 10 PSE... is better to uninstall it now, or start 10 PSE and ensure that the new catalogue etc gets put in place?

(I have a similar ad more in the forum download and installation, but find that I get a lot more quick answers here.)

PSE10 is not a 64 bit application, only PE10 (Premiere Elements), I think. If your installation is correct. I'm sure that you will get more specific answers by more knowledgeable people...

  • Do you need to uninstall the 32-bit version of firefox to install the 64-bit version?

I tried to install the 64-bit version of Firefox and it seemed just overlay the 32-bit version. Is my 64-bit version now or still the 32? I don't know how to say or how to put in the 64 bit one if it did not work.

You have posted here with the 64-bit version of Firefox 43.

  • Is it possible to install 64-bit Firefox in addition to the 32-bit version on a Windows OS?

As the new 64-bit version was released with the help of Add on a minimum, I want to use next.
When the support or 64-bit modules newly emerge I would dissipate the 32-bit version because I only work on 64 bit systems

Install the Win64 version in a different folder where the 32-bit version is installed, by using the custom option. And if you want to be able to run both versions at the same time create a new profile for Win64.

  • I was told that the 64 bit Firefox would happen with 42.0. Today, I was invited to go to 42.0. I have to do something to get the 64 bit version?

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I was told on September 7 this year 42.0 would be released on 3 November and it would be available in a 64-bit version. I was invited today to upgrade to 42.0 with no option for a 64-bit version (11/4). I guess by choosing to update my current 32-bit version of FF will be updated to 32-bit 42.0.

How can I get the Windows 64 bit FF version and migrate it to the 32-bit version, I am running?

Hi coolmarius1, to the first users of the State don't are not automatically updated to a different version (it can happen sometimes in the future however, but it is still not concrete plans).

at the moment you can get 64-bit builds just directly from the repository to download to https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/latest/win64/
Please note that no other plugins that adobe flash player are taken care of in win64 is also inspired.

  • When released the 64 bit version of Firefox to the main channel?

When released the 64 bit version of Firefox to the main channel? I thought it was supposed to be released when version 39 came out, but I must have been confused.

No version passed was a guarantee of having Win64 for liberation, but more of an opportunity or that there has been speculation that Win64 builds on the beta channel from 37.0b2 build target.

I guess you mean the Win64 (64-bit for Windows) and not on Mac OSX and Linux built which has 64-bit commercial for Firefox 4.0 versions both because easier to do and that it.

If all goes well the Firefox 41.0 will be the first version to have Win64 rests alongside the 32 bit Windows builds.

Win64 version was planned no version of Firefox. Then, on short notice for a brief period of a few weeks before Fx 40.0 version Mozilla thought to Win64 Fx 40.0 release but was changed to 41.0 Fx.

Two things of note for versions of Firefox Win64 starting 41,0 + release. Only 64-bit Flash Player is white listed to run in Firefox Win64. Seconed we need 64-bit Windows 7, 8.x and 10 as the 64-bit Windows XP, Vista and server cannot run Win64 builds from Firefox 37.0 + development relies.
