• Should I move to El Capitan of Mavericks

  Currently have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro Mavericks to market with a 1 TB hard drive and a 2.26 gHZ processor. Just upgraded from 4 to 8 RAM with original thoughts to move towards El Capitan. I use Aperture 3.5.1, but understand that I would need to go to 3.6 so I went to El Capitan. Did some research and see how it is possible, if I move the current version of opening up a separate drive, install El Capitan and then switch to 3.6.

  All that being said, I wonder if I shouldn't even bother? I read on a few small problems, opening running on El Capitan. I know that I was able to partition my drive so that I can continue to work opening on Mavericks and El Capitan execution for all the rest, but that would be a pain to switch back and comes just to use other programs. I'm not so maybe that's not as much hassle I think it would be the guy most in computer science. Is it worth it to switch to El Capitan, or should I just stick with what I have now and enjoy the new my rugged up RAM speed?

  Only if you need since it is not a requirement. Never upgrade until you are sure that all of your critical software mission runs or can be upgraded to run on the new version of the OS.

  Eventually, however, you will need to upgrade to El Capitan. Unless you have a USB bootable installer of the Mavericks by car or kept the Mavericks Installer, you will not be able to reinstall it.

  My Mac is older, fairly new sentence for El Capitan, but it still works very well (running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5).)  It has a processor Core Duo clocked at 2.66 GHz and 4 GB of RAM.  I upgraded the HD to a 2 to Hitachi sister a few years ago and I have a 2 TB Seagate external hard drive for my time Machine.  I can't afford to upgrade my Mac any more right now, but I wonder if I should upgrade to El Capitan.  I would appreciate any advice someone who has a similar system specs & knowing El Capitan.

  With all Mac models, 4 GB of RAM is not really enough for El Capitan. At least not if you use to much more than emails and surf the web.

  Our Mac Pro 2008 has 14 GB of RAM installed. El Capitan works smoothly and quickly on it.
