Should I plan for Oracle 10 G or 11G Oracle OCP Certification now?

Hello

I have about 3 years experience as an Oracle DBA and about 6 years of experience as a whole on oracle.
I finished Oracle 9i SQL Exam a few years ago and took a training course of quality for Oracle 10 G OCP Oracle. I didn't get Oracle 10 G OCA yet.

I would like to know which option should I choose now? Should I go for Oracle 10 G OCP and upgrade to Oracle 11 G OCP or do I ignore my 10G training and start getting ready for Oracle 11 G OCP?

Please advice.

Sarayu K.S.

I wouldn't not too concerned about 10 g in desupported immediately. Companies continue to use it.

When the obligation of course has been announced for the cert DBA 9i, I decided to get the cert 8i first, as there was just no way I could have given the class at this time. It turns out, I started a job shortly after that when they were still using 8i.

Of course, if taking another course is not a problem, this would be the most direct path and should take less time to do.

  • Planning for use with Oracle Incentive Compensation (OIC)

I've read conflicting reports about agglomerates planning would be available for use to migrate compensation plans (and all other configurations of the OIC) multiple instances of Oracle e-Business applications.

Does anyone know if R12 (12.04) is capable of managing the migration of the OIC? Is there a documentation as to how you should configure planning for use with the OIC?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It's Laurence of development planning. The OIC is not covered as part of sets of standard selection delivered by Oracle. You can consider you a SR (product code - 841) for coverage.

If you already have java program/scripts which migrate from the OIC, then you can plugin with planning. You can also write your own API BC4J for the migration of the configurations of the OIC and register with planning.

To learn more about writing BC4J planning Fwk APIs, please log an SR.

-You don't have to take the exams in this path in any formal succession. You can take the exam 146 before you have your 144 beta test results, but you will not be granted certification until scored 144 beta review (and you did).

-In addition, 146 review is based on the formation of 11g, but Advanced PL/SQL certification is not version-specific.

  • Suggestion for Oracle data mining product team

    Team of Oracle products,

Here's a suggestion Data mining product marketing and development.

For a specialist in data mining or data scientist, he does well synchronize when they see the name of the product as "SQL Developer" who has the ability to data mining, unless Oracle is intentionally marketing and sale to its existing base Oracle client, which I hope not.

Continue to have capabilities to extract data as part of the developer sql and make it as a stand-alone product. This will put Oracle in a much better position to compete with manufacturers as fast Miner, etc. and also it gels with many statisticains and scientific data.

Bottom line, start to use "SQL" less and more 'algorithms, libraries, APIs' data mining market product to customer non-Oracle base and make them buy product so DB. It seems to me that you sell products critical to Oracle DB clients now, but you should also have a good salesforce that can sell capabilites Data Mining product to customers not Oracle DB and make them buy Oracle DB as well.

I like SQL and is the way to go for most data extraction, but go with the wind and SQL and other non-SQL conditions to get a foot in the door of the market. Oracle has an amazing technology outside the Oracle database... just need to market it better. (I say this with 22 years of experience of the Oracle)

I'm curious to see what other people love Oracle and use SQL Developer - Data Mining capabilities say about it. Please post your comments. THX

You make a very good point. This isn't a comment which went unnoticed or that we ignored.  Unfortunately, Oracle cannot make statements about the 'future '. Thank you very much for the comments. Keep it coming!

    Dear Oracle.

I send you this mail because recently I passed the exam 1Z0-053-Oracle Database 11 g: Administration II, which is the last review necessary to acquire the OCP Certification. However, in the path to certification, I need to prove that I participated in an official Oracle training.

Research for the course on the site to view pearson, I did find the name of course on the list. So I'm sending you this email with the courses required for certification information. I attended the course at FIAP College (http://www.fiap.com.br/en/conheca-a-fiap/parcerias-estrategicas/), in the city of São Paulo (Brazil) of March, 2010 until March 2011. The above link is possible to check that the University is a partner of Oracle. The title I had was "Graduate in Oracle Database Management".

In this e-mail, I have attached a copy of the certified course FIAP (front.jpg, certificate Back). I also send my profile data in the site view pearson (Pearson VIEW - my profile.pdf) and my scores on tests for certification of OCP (1Z0 - 051.pdf, 1Z0 - 052.pdf, 1Z0 - 053.pdf).

If you need additional information just let me know and I'll give you.

Please acknowledge this information and give me the OCP certification (Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Professional).

  • Why I have two different execution plans for the same query on two different servers

    Hello everyone.

I need your help to solve the problem quickly.

In a nutshell, we have two servers that have the same version of Oracle RDBMS (11.2.0.4 EE). One of them for purposes of development and another is a production one.

We have therefore two different execution plans for the same query executed on both servers. The only case of execution is OK and another is too slow.

So I have to slow down the work of query using the same scheme to explain that young.

  • Path of the environments for Oracle EBS (Profile)

I have a question about setting up my profile for Oracle EBS. I just installed Oracle EBS on 2 nodes. Now I have to run the commands manually instead of being able to type them on the command line. An example:

Instead of typing adstpall.sh, I have to do $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME/adstpall.sh.

Also with the automatic configuration service. I have to go on the dbTier in $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/bin and run adconfig.sh and I have to go on the appsTier in $INST_TOP/admin/scripts and run adautocfg.sh but I want to be able to type adautocfg.sh anywhere and it will work

There are also things as adpatch and adadmin, etc., I want to be able to run

I don't know that there are several environment files in Oracle EBS. Anyone can guide me please to put up my profile so that I can use one of these commands from anywhere in the file system. I've never had to do before. I know they have to be in my .bash_profile, but I don't know what should go and what should not go. Please help me in this regard.

    Thank you

    -Change the .bash_profile

-Add the following entry to the file:

    source /APPS Nom_du_contexte > .env

    Or,

    -Save the file
