Should I re - apply this hotfix

* The EBS version 11.5.20.2 on x 86 linux 6.2

I'm new to EBS patches, at least something other than these little sissy package updates.  I did some research and found that before applying the 18285973, so I downloaded and submitted it last night need me 18075555 on this DEV environment.  He ran all night on the stage of compiling JSP (1 G RAM), and my more experienced colleague suggested I kill the application of the fix and the research question.  I thought a simple Ctrl-C on the SSH session would kill the patch, but all by discovering and by examining the various log files in the same SSH session, I had an output stream let me know the patch was still running and had finished compiling JSP pages.  Oops!  I had disabled maintenance and restarted two components of applications (but no one accessed today), so not be sure what to I quickly stop apps on both levels and maintenance mode reactivated before the PL/SQL module phase was complete.  The patch, I can say of log files, has successfully completed.  If it's important, it is only on the forms/reports node which is the master node (?) for the patches, I was told.

Share these events with my colleague more experienced-but-very-busy, his suggestion was re - install the patch to be sure.  My readings this morning suggest that I can run the script ojspCompile.pl manually to ensure any recent JSPs are recompiled, but I get an error with the script to search in the wrong place for perl.  AutoConfig seems to be installed in this environment, so update the configuration file to find seems irrelevant.

$ perl - x /devapp1/prodappl/jtf/11.5.0/admin/scripts/ojspCompile.pl-compiler <
Can't open perl script "/ devapp1/prodappl/faith/perl ': no such file or directory
$ which perl
/ devapp1/prodora/IAS/apache/perl/bin/perl
$ ls/devapp1/prodappl/jtf/perl
LS: / devapp1/prodappl/jtf/perl: no such file or directory

Issues related to the:

1 should I reinstall this hotfix on the node forms/States?  I can only do safely a second time?

2. If recompile JSPS manually would work, is there something obvious that you can point me to that would allow me to do this?

3. the only errors I see in the newspapers of patch are as follows.  Do I need to worry about them?

AutoPatch WARNING:
Format string revision error: invalid revision.
Scheme = 'APPS', Obj #= 2927177, Header = "" $Header: CVS location > mshaikh Exp $""

Thank you

Kevin

Hey Kevin,

I appreciate the details that you provided for the show. First thing, to cancel the patch, you must use the adctrl utility and leave the workers.

Please check the log file of the fix with attention, check if there is any error except the warning that you have mentioned and if it is to show "The Autopatch is completed" message and also checks table of ad_bugs he got the entry for this patch. If all of the above is fine while you do not have to reapply.

If you are in doubt and want to present a new request, you can go ahead and do it with the option - nocompilejsp. adpatch copy / apply not all files that is already done.

Yes, you can apply the patches in mode - nocompilejsp (adpatch options = nocompilejsp) and compile the jsp after correction is over.

In the future if you disable maintenance mode and started application while the patch works, don't worry and just close the application and you will not need to activate the service mode if there are no more patches to apply.

For the warning in the patch log, the reason is "when adpatch checked the details of revision for objects in the apps schema, he met several objects that have header records that do not conform to the standards of Oracle software.» Issued warnings autoPatch then the user will be informed of the situation. "You should check the sage of the object for which this warning is generated. (Reference: Metalink Doc ID 287235.1)

For perl question, I'm not sure why is it trying to use/devapp1/prodappl/jtf/perl, probably some issue in the application configuration. Perl to/devapp1/prodora/iAS/Apache/perl/bin/perl is the correct value, and you must use it, you can add it just in your PATH variable or change it in the file environment or in any other way, as long as the system uses the correct perl.

.

Thank you

Shakti
