Should I upgrade Mavericks 10.9.5 to ElCapitan or later operating system or stay where I am?

why I'm hesitant to upgrade is because of the bad experience I had with the iPhone 4 when I upgraded to 7.1.2 it more slowly and often freeze and stuck and Apple wouldn't help but say to buy the latest iPhone and former bin. Why could I do when my phone was in good condition and I didn't lose my money to buy a new simply because Apple wanted to sell the new iPhones.

I won't repeat the same mistake by elevating the mavericks to the latest operating system if facing the same problem.

Please guide me what to do?

Thank you very much

I recommend that you stay on the Mavericks. I was running Mavericks and I regret the upgrade. I'm on El Capitan, and I don't like one bit. If I could, I would go back to the Mavericks.

I find El Capitan slow and I got much more kernel panics since I've updated. No I'm talking about has this problem but it is irritating me so.

I also find the design of the Mavericks to be easier on the eyes. I find the Park Yosemite and El Capitan (and soon Sierra) be difficult to watch, colorful and bright.

This is just my opinion, however, you must actually visit an Apple Store and look for yourself and compare El Capitan to the Mavericks.

  • Should I put folder Cache Disk/Media in primary SSD with operating system and applications?

Hello, I have an SSD SATA3 with OS and applications on them and 2 HDD SATA2, one for the footages/projects and the other for renders / archive.

I think putting the drive/media in the SSD cache should boost performance because of the speed, but I've heard that it can shorten the life of the drive, even though I'm not sure how much.

I guess I could buy an another SSD dedicated for the disk cache, but I'd rather not if they are put on the same drive with OS and applications will be not too much problem.

Go ahead and put your caches on the SSD even as your operating system and applications.

Most of the concerns on the repeated Scriptures SSD causing failure are older versions of the technology. Reliability is improved greatly now. Also, has not lost much if your SSD fails, and it doesn't have your applications, OS and caches on this, since you can reinstall your operating system and applications fairly easily.

I was not able to get the flash player since the upgrade to FF 7.0.1 on Debian Linux. I followed the instructions in "How do you install the Flash plugin? (https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/installing-flash) several times.

As I said this is a problem since the last update. I was able to get flash working in earlier versions. Flash works in the Debian version of FF "Iceweasel".

  • Should I install a printer driver 32-bit on a 64 operating system?

I have a wireless HP Officejet 6700e printer.  It is used by 2 computers.  The operating systems on the computers are as follows:

1 - HP Pavilion laptop computer using Windows 8.1, 64 bit.

2 - HP computer Pavilion laptop with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

I noticed there are TWO 32-bit and 64-bit of the printer drivers for Windows 7 and Windows 8 and 8.1.

    I have 2 questions:

First of all, given that two computers use 64-bit operating systems, shouldn't I install the 64 bit print driver?

Second, is there an advantage to install the printer driver 32-bit on a 64-bit operating system?

    Thank you, Terry

Install the driver that corresponds to the operating system and type of bits (32-bit or 64-bit) that is installed on each PC.

Second, is there an advantage to install the printer driver 32-bit on a 64-bit operating system? There are no advantage at all. It would actually be a bad practice, unless the printer driver is compatible with both types of bit.

  • Failure of the attempt to upgrade to Windows 10, can´t restore the previous operating system.

Here's the thing: I tried to install the 10 Windows in a laptop Acer TravelMate 5742, he ran incredibly slow, beautiful instalation 3 hours or longer. But just when he was about to finish somethig happens and it tent to restore the operating system (windows 7 Enterprise.. original I think)
It restarts and the windows welcome screen 7, I connect and BAM! a nice screen black and all I see is the mouse.

Then I realized that the model was not really compatible with W10

I tried to restore the system, but there was no restore points, but despite this, I get a message from antivirus who said it needed to update the virus database.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Have you tried to make the instructions provided by mySh4d0w? Are still meet the black screen when you connect?

If you have already tried to run a system restore but restore points are not available, another thing you can do is to start your computer in Safe Mode and check the drivers and startup programs. To do so, please follow the steps listed below:

    1. Turn on your computer and then press and hold F8 key as your computer starts. This will bring you to the Advanced Boot Optionsscreen.
    2. Press the arrow key down until it highlights the Safe Mode or Safe Mode with network and press enter.
    3. If you do not experience the black screen then on the Safe Mode, try to uninstall the graphics driver as it often causes the same scenario.
    4. Restart your computer and check if you are still affected by the same. If still the same, then try to disable startup programs by accessing the Safe Mode once more. In safe mode, press the Windows key + R > type msconfig > click OK. This will launch The System Configuration utility.
    5. Click on Startup tab > turn off or disable your startup programs > click OK > then restart your computer.

Let us know how it goes.

  • Should I upgrade to ElCapitan Mavericks or stay where I am?

I have a laptop of 2012 with the Mavericks. When I upgraded to the Mavericks my CanoScan 8600F does not work, but I found a software to make it work (with these tips). I'm afraid to go to ElCapitan, in case I have any other incompatibilities. Does anyone have an opinion on the question of whether it's OK to stay with the Mavericks, until I need to upgrade to a later operating system. Someone had no major problems after reclassification of Mavericks at ElCapitan?

Hi and thanks for posting. You should not have problems during the upgrade to OS X Mavericks for OS X El Capitan. However, make sure you have a backup of all files and data on your computer before you try to upgrade the operating system. If you do not have a backup, you can use integrated in the OS x application 'Time Machine' to make a. For more information about Time Machine, click on the link below. I've also included a link that gives you more information about the upgrade to OS X El Capitan.

Should I upgrade to Windows Vista 64-bit of Windows 7?

Summer wrote: where can I get a DVD of Windows 7 upgrade?

Hello summer, DVD of Windows 7 x 64 upgrade usually can be found in your local computer supply store.

Here is the link for the specifications of your system and it shows the system is delivered with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - bit SP1.

Here a link to Newegg where the operating system Windows 7 x 64 Home Premium Upgrade can be found for USD $109.00 with free shipping. Free shipping usually takes about 7-10 days. You can choose faster shipping for an extra cost options.

This Windows 7 x 64 Home Premium Upgrade is a commercial version and comes with a free gift of Kaspersky Lab Internet Security 2012 1 user license.

When you insert the DVD into the optical drive and boot the system, you would be presented with the option in a few screens to perform an upgrade installation. You would select just a upgrade and installation will continue and complete.

You should then have Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 installed. If you want or need a more robust version, such as Windows 7 x 64 Pro or Ultimate, you can find these institutions, but they cost a bit more, and if you do not need the features of these versions, it would not be the extra cost.

Whatever version you decide, you must put the enclosed certificate of authenticity (COA) on the system case and remove the Vista COA of the case. This could ensure that you are legal.

You should also go to the Windows Update site after the upgrade and see if there are new updates for your system.

    I think it would be.

    Hello

Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.
