Should project files I absolutely to be stored on the boot drive by FCP 6

Hello. I always understood that the FCP 6 project files must be stored on your boot drive and would like to know if it is still the recommended location (and why in this case) or I can store them on a 2nd internal drive or an external drive without any degradation of performance. My boot drive is a SSD drive and I would like to write him as little as possible. Thanks for any input from anyone.

You ask on the FCP project file or media files for your project?

    Hi Kellie,

Save chat on the computer logs depends on the way chat application is set up and if this app provides an option to change these settings.

I would say to contact a lot of fish support and check if it helps.

  • Subset of files stored on the hard drive suddenly missing in LR

My photos are stored on an external hard drive. My LR catalog is on my computer (a Macbook Pro). I upgraded LR 5 to 6 a month ago. No problems. I use LR a lot, and when I leave, I always save the catalog.

For reasons that I don't understand not at all, Lightroom is suddenly not showing all records dating from February 2016 photo. That is, the pictures I imported before then are all present and reported in detail. But all the pictures I imported (and published!) of February at the present time are missing from the library. I checked the hard drive and the image files are still there.

Of course, I don't want to re - import the missing photos (in thousands of them) and lose all my changes.  And I can't ask to Lightroom to find missing photos because they do not appear in the library. I am so at a loss for what to do.

I'll never be able to understand what has happened to the latest version of the catalog, but I opened an earlier version and all missing records reappeared. I'm very relieved. I lost only a handful of changes.

  • Lightroom uses a library, or are files stored on the hard drive?

So, Lightroom uses a librbary to store photos and any changes made, or it updates the disk image files?

I had a Mac in the summer, but subsequently discovered that software Mac (iPhoto & Apperture) stores the images in a library owner rather than update the JPEG files on the hard drive. This makes it useless to me because I need to share files with Windows PCs, which means all the work done on the Mac it is lost (I know that I can export all images changed individually, but it is unfeasable). The lock-in Mac means also the backups are useless, because you need a Mac to read in the library of Apperture saved.

While hoping that Lightroom is easier to use and allows you to share images on the platforms.

    Thank you.

Or you can export the complete catalogue on an external drive and place it between the computers.  The catalog file is on the external hard drive, and all you have to do is double-click on it.

  • the files display offline when it is on the external drive (4 items)

-I was moving my files to create space, so now in my organizer show the offline files

-When I click on them, the "where is the file" box

-When I navigate to the location (K :) my external hard drive)

-"not supported format or corrupted file / one of the necessary components may not be installed ' window opens

-What is really confusing is, after that the box 'generic failure"leaves, the address of the element in the changes of the organiser at an address (i) no matter what it was before (c) or (e)

    - BUT, if I live the box 'where is the file' to a file located on my (c) or my other internal drive (E :) Premier locates and loads

-J' thought the problem might be that my external hard drive using a USB and no FireWire, but I get the same problem with the video or pictures, and I can play video from the external hard drive through my windows media player.

    Help, please

Where PE "think" are the files? This will be the key to get this process started.

Then, in disk management (located in slightly different locations, depending on the exact OS), with your USB external connected, see if you can change the drive letter assigned to match. If C:\, obviously it will not work. And you need move on to phase 2. Assigning a permanent drive letter to externally. When I started using a lot of external editing systems of /, I went with Z:\ and worked backward. Each new external is a letter to the top of the alphabet. I do this in the operating system for all of my computers, Z:\ seems like Z:\ on all systems.

Now, you will have to leave EP ask for files and so that it points to the exact location. PE is smart enough to find that all the assets related to this case. If you have several folders/sub-folders, then you will need to do this for each folder/sub folder. Once connected, make a Save_As with an incremented project name.

Also, you mentioned that you had done that, but the error of 'Format is not correct, etc.' appeared. This could be a problem with the Windows Indexing System. I turn it off for all drives and all folders of all readers. In addition to undermine resources, this program can lock files or may send false messages to a program tries to access these files. Video files are large, and while editing, they change frequently. Indexing of Windows wants to control these files, while his investigation and re - will probe every time that the file changed. Get rid of it immediately. Searches will be slower, but it's better than not being able to change.

I also see some problems with external systems with all the drivers installed. Your system should work fine without any of them. Things like MasLoader of Mastor can really get in the way. Also, if you are storing files and do not use backup software, you want these records to be out of any schedule or backup system. They get in the way.

If you do not have PE of re - link to these files on the outside, then something might be wrong with it. Try to copy only those you need for your project to return where you took them from. Then research which could be upwards with your outside.

    Good luck

  • How to create the image that was stored on the HARD drive

    Hello

When I fixed my windows, I chose "Restore Factory Setting" options.
This happens to reformat my hard drive and I lose the "TOSHIBA HDD Recovery" image.

Is it possible to create this image again?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

The use of the Toshiba HDD image would format the HARD drive, but should not remove the Toshiba HDD image files that are stored on the second partition!
That's why I put t know why you said you lost the image of Toshiba HDD.
    That is a little strange.

On the other hand, you can try to create the recovery disk using tool of preinstalled Toshiba Toshiba recovery disc Creator called.
This tool helps you to create the recovery disk using Toshiba image files stored on the second partition.
I think you should try this.

    See you soon

  • Satellite L650-11F: where are the backup information stored on the HARD drive

    Hello.

My original Toshiba HDD is a failure and I had to replace it with a new one. I haven't had any recovery DVDs until Windows stopped booting and try to avoid buying one.

I thought that I copy just my recovery Partition and the master boot record on the new HARD drive which worked well. However I find that this hidden restore partition has only 400 MB and so cannot possibly contain all the necessary information to restore the system.

I have boot from it, but I don't get any options to restore the default settings. It scans only for problems with Windows, runs a few tests on my records and presents me with advanced options that I can't go because I'm not connected.

I went searching all about and know that ELSEWHERE THE PARTITION RECOVERY that you still need your Windows partition for recovery work.

It seems just really stupid because most people will try to restore their default values after damage to their windows (deleted files accidentally or whatever).

What is the point of keeping a partition hidden with just enough to Prime the system, but then require that certain parts of their partition original windows remains intact in order to restore?

What I'm trying to know is exactelly what part (files) do I need to restore my computer. I tried to copy the Windows partition on the new disk but its too damaged and he'll take it apart if I try to copy some files or to copy directly (using linux dd or ddrescue).

I am able to copy some of the unique files, so with little chance I might be able to copy everything that I need. I can't copy the part of the Windows folder however.

So any1 know where the backup information is stored or has other ideas?

Thank you in advance and please excuse my bad English.

    Hello

At first, I must say that your biggest mistake was not not to create recovery discs. With these discs you didn t now have a stupid problem.
Anyway, in my opinion, only option for you is now buy original Toshiba Recovery disk and install Recovery on the new HARD disk image.

I put t know how to start the discussion with you and try to offer some answers. Is Toshiba doesn t create recovery CD/DVDs more and original recovery image is saved on the HARD drive. At first he was saved on the second partition of HARD drive and visible for laptop owners. Many people have deleted and do some experiments with these files for recovery. Later after the screwing up of most of them wondered why the recovery installation doesn t work anymore and blaming Toshiba for non-working HARD drive recovery facility.

You need to just check this forum and see how many comments you can find here all this.

I think that was the reason why Toshiba has decided to save this image on a hidden partition to avoid such things. Please note that this image of hidden recovery is designed for your laptop only and can be used if your laptop has the factory settings. Any type of change may result with missing option to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.

Problem is that people don't read the operating manuals and don t understand how it works. To avoid any situation where the installation of the HARD disk can't start or failure HARD disk Toshiba strictly recommended recovery DVD creation. I m wondering really you didn't create these disks.

At this point, I would like to repeat what I think: you will not be able to do anything, except by using the original installation disc of recovery. To be honest, it is cheap and costs 30 euros. Don t waste your time to play, buy, install the OS, and be happy.

    Bye and good luck

  • What is the path to find where PES 9 data are stored on the hard drive?

I can't find where the hotos are stored on drive "C" on my PC. I went to the program data > Adobe > 9.0 but can't seem to find the data. Where are these data? I use Windows 7 64-bit. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Dick

Photos are stored on your hard drive, wherever you put them. PES them don't move unless you tell PSE to do. If you open the organizer and then right-click on the picture and select view properties, it should tell you the directory and the name of your photo.

  • When RAW images are needed (if it is stored on the hard drive more slow)?

I just bought an SSD that will roughly triple my reading speed, but since it's only 160 GB I'cant afford the luxury to keep all my data on it.

I know there are many threads here about the best hard drive configurations, but just how would keeping that data (files 12 megapixel CR2) RAW affect my LR experience (once 1:1 previews have been returned and stored on the ssd)?

For example, refinement of development would be insensitive?

    Robert Karlsson

I'd do it but the LRcat previews and hides on the disc and the actual image on a standard disk performance files. Treatment you just write on the disc were the images are found when you save the changes to the files xmp either external or internall and only this disk reads when generating previews, so the actual performance increase will come from the LRcat and previews being on the disc fast and if space is at a premium (as it will be of course with only 160 GB to play with.

If you were really organized could import the images particual group, work on the SSD and when you are done move elsewhere... but the time required to do this can defeat the purpose. Try a few game different ups and let us know how it goes as I can consider buying a small SSD if it does not give improvements.

  • How can I use two different PC with Lr5.5 to manage and process my photos stored on the external drive and swap the analysis between these two computers?

I ran two computers and would like to be able to download Lr jobs made on my laptop, my PC fixed, also used to treat other images, all stored on the same disk.

In other words, I want to deal with may photos on both PC and have access to all analyses of one or even two computers better regardless.

  • Once removed a memory stick from the hard drive, is - one of these information is stored on the hard drive?

If I access the files on a USB key, and then remove it, all information is stored on my computer? Lilian_999

Perhaps some may remain in the cache or shadow copy

Files must not be stored on a memory stick, the stick must be considered as a temporary storage area.

If you change files on a stick, they should be edited on a hard drive, then copied on the key location, or

Not all USB keys are the same, some are literally given.

    Hey M,

As I checked, the output of the competitive program will be in $APPLCSF / $APPLOUT in the server... So without putting the script shell said in the server... it's not possible to get the output as an attachment in e-mail.

  • href="file://f://myfile.ext would not specify the hard drive and use the same directory as my html file.

When you use href="file://f://myfile.ext' it will open fine in Firefox 3.6.8. However, I wish NOT hard code hard drive and use the location of the same player if my html file that calls this href link.
I tried to use href="file:///myfile.ext" and it does not work. I get an error message saying file not found.
For ie browser I can just specify href = "" / myfile.ext "and it works very well."
This is a simple html file that refers to several local files and I have everything on a usb key (IE my F drive). The memory stick will be sent to several people and their USB can be another letter.

I found a solution to my problem. Found I could just specify
href = "MyFile.ext" and he will see when he's in the same directory as the html code containing the reference. " No need for extra slashes!

  • Deinstitutionalized drive, my computer can not find the music stored on the internal drive

I was recently released from the balance of PAYMENTS (Bureau of Prisons), and I gladly paid $25 for the reader deinstitutionalized. I got it in the mail and I am very happy with the improvements, however, when I plug it into the computer, the computer cannot find the music that I invested a lot of money.  The drive works fine.  I can listen to all the songs that are on it, but I can't find them with all software, including the software downloaded from Sansa. When I click on the player, in any program/browser, I get the same thing: the folders that are empty.  It saves space, but sees ALL files.  Many of the albums available at the bottom of the PYRAMID were incomplete and I want to "fill the gaps", but can not find the whites to fill.  Any help would be wonderful.  I paid my $95 (for the player AND have unlocked it) MORE about $1400 in the songs, so it's a pretty big deal for me to get access... Thanks in advance.

My guess is, it is a question of USB MSC - MTP mode.

Your drive may be connected to your computer in the title of one of the 2 separate USB MSC or MTP modes.  This is located under settings of the player.  (There is a 3rd option it, auto-detection, trying to connect under MTP mode but then fold in MSC mode, if necessary.)  Is the reason why it's important, files transferred to the Clip under a mode USB can only be seen by your computer when the computer is under this same mode.  And so, for example, if the songs are put on the player mode USB MSC, if you connect later under MTP mode, the computer will not see these files.  If you have set the player to one of the USB modes and always use this mode (MSC mode is the least problematic, in virtue of which the player is considered to be a USB key; however, MTP mode is necessary for files protected by DRM), you're fine.  If, however, you change mode, emits a "invisibility".  And if you're ready auto detection, the computer can change the modes on you without you knowing.

And thus, better Board: turn on the player (recommended) MSC or MTP mode and stay there and stay away auto detection setting.

And if you have been on a mode but want to switch to the other and to be able to see all of your files on your computer, set the player to the previous mode, transfer your music to your computer and delete them from the player, re - set the player to new USB mode and transfer the songs back.
