  Photoshop Mix seems to be the best solution for you. I will move this thread to this community.

  Mix of Photoshop is an application of photo composition. You can cut out parts of an image on and move it to another photo. Here is a link with more information on how to combine photos in Photoshop Mix: How to merge photos with Photoshop and Photoshop CC

  I recently bought an Epson scanner, so I can scan a mountain of documents that I have accumulated over the years. Shortly before a hared drive failure forced me to get a new laptop (MacBook Pro), I played with him at the same time the upgrade to the Mavericks. So I'm kinda sorta beginning anew.

  Looks like I can easily create PDF files with my Epson scanner alone. What confuses me is PDF with searchable text; I think the technical term is OCR.

  You should learn the version that is currently adopted by the W3C as a standard.  It would be HTML 4.01 and CSS2.  Knowing that those will position you for a segue in HTML5 and CSS3 (this one which is not so different from what you have learned already), as soon as they become the standard.
