Shutdown on Satellite Pro A300 problem

I flashed the Bios with the latest version, did not help my problem.
After stopping the machine down, the slot voltage stays on, even if the disks hard etc. are off.

If you hold down the power button on this point, the machine turns off completely, then you can start again.

Also, when the machine is turned on, the power button is strangely.
Sometimes a single press stops the machine, sometimes it restarts. Sometimes, he won't do anything

Someone at - it an idea of that which is the cause, now that an update of the bios did not fix.

See you soon,.

Hello

Looks like you would define the notebook in Hibernate or standby mode setting and would not shut down the Satellite Pro A300.

Please note that the closed button Vista default settings are set to sleep.
If you want to change the settings go to:
-Control Panel > Power Options > change Plan settings
-Click on advanced settings
-Expand power buttons and lid. Then Expand the menu button start and change of sleep at the stop.

"If the laptop has been on standby mode it is possible happens that it wakes up automatically because of some options activated as alarm clock on keyboard ' and 'Battery critical WakeUp' or 'wake on LAN '.

Good bye

    Hello

I have no idea what happened after installing Microsoft Security Essentials, but it seems that you are not able to access the files on the HARD drive
I think you need to reinstall the operating system using HARD drive recovery.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=58

But this would format the system partition :(

In order to save the files from the HARD drive, I recommend using / boot from a bootable floppy from Win PE.
Win PE (also called BartPE) is a thin window OS that is bootable CD and don t need to be installed on the HARD drive.

  • HDD on Satellite Pro A300 problem

Okay, so basically, my laptop broke down and I am addicted in my hard drive via a usb cable to a laptop different, copy of my files on to this laptop. Now my problem is that all the time when I was running out of space on my laptop, I transferred to some files on a disk E: (My Documents, my music and my pictures), which was just sitting there basically empty. I checked beforehand with a computer expert to see if it was safe to put the files on this drive and he said yes.

What confuses me, is that I always thought that the C: drive was my hard drive, one that I am currently taking files but the files on my hard drive seem to be those that I had copied the disk hard all the time! (My Documents, my music and my pictures)

So basically my question is, how can I get my files from my C: drive, or are only they doomed to sink with my broken laptop? I had nothing exceptionally important on it, just a few programs and issues that I want to like!

I have a last option of the station to perform a recovery system on my broken laptop, but I'm scared that it could wipe on all files on the C: drive, can anyone confirm if this would indeed happen?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thank you

    Hello

I'm a little confused about your ad, if you connect internally to computer portable HARD drive to another computer, you are able to backup all the files of all the scores of Mr. According to the save location, you can back up all the files on another HARD drive.

If you connect the HARD disk to another computer, partitions will have different drive letters, but the content is still the same.

  • Satellite Pro A300 - for Windows 7 power management strategy

    Hi all

I have the following on my Satellite Pro A300 problem:

My laptop fan works continuously, which means almost always turn. I cleaned the entire cooling with compressed air, so it is not clean, no problem with that. The reason is that in browsers when Adobe Flash Player runs, it loads the CPU and the GPU, so that the fan trying to cool the system.

Now I ask you, is there any solution to fix this? I mean even to reduce the GPU clock speed when I do not use the graphics intensive applications.

I use Google Chrome as default browser and the Windows 7 OS 32 bit.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

If an application load the CPU and the GPU it s normal behavior that the fan rotates and probably on top level so it s high usage. So don t you worry because everything is normal. The fan protects the equipment from overheating.

What you can do is updated Google Chrome and Flash Player. Also try to use the most recent version, they also contain security updates.

Last but not least, you can change the cooling method in the power management Windows (change the power plan settings). If you have installed Toshiba Value added Package, you can choose between optimized battery and a maximum Performance. Select optimized battery and fan activity will be less.

I'm on a Toshiba Satellite pro A300-PSAGDA-01C00R, these drivers just doesn't at the moment on 7?

  • On Satellite Pro A300-13Y USB port problem

I have a Satellite Pro A300-13Y with 4 USB ports. The USB ports of two right don t work. I bought this phone recently (2-3 weeks ago). It has a Windows Vista Business SP1 on it. I put chip in utility installed on it, I checked the Device Manager and tried to find driver for it but I couldn't solve this problem.

So I called Toshiba service dek, they say that I need to install new standard to factory install to see if it can be solved. But I don t find it the best way and I have some applications installed on it and get some info on my laptop, so I would find another way to solve this problem.

Also, I think it might be a hardware problem. Can someone show the way in which I can find or fix this? I can also send it to guarantee, but I made a mistake and if there is not a hardware problem that I have to pay for it.

    Hello

I know it s not the best way, but it's the only way to exclude a hardware failure. If after a recovery of the won´t of USB ports not work then you can send it to repair without being in doubt that they will charge you for the repair.

  • Satellite Pro A300-195: Realtek 8187 B Wlan driver and driver of Smartphone problem

I have a Satellite Pro A300-195, running a card wireless Realtek 8187 B and Windows XP Professional. It was working fine until yesterday, when I installed the drivers for my new Samsung Galaxy S2.

Now, I can access the internet if I connect to my laptop to the router using the cable ethernet, but if I try to do wireless, it gives me a list of networks, but it won't let connect me to one of them.

It is the installation of new drivers or is this some sort of weird of incompatibility between the drivers for both devices?

To be honest, I can't believe that the smartphone software would affect the WLan driver functionality but I don't know this smartphone software and so I can't say that for sure

Then first of all, you should check if you have enabled the WLan card on your laptop. Did you? Using FN + F8, you can activate the Wlan.

In addition, please check in Device Manager if the wireless network card is correctly recognized. Is there is some yellow exclamation points then it could mean that something is wrong here in this case it would be necessary to reinstall the Wlan driver.

The Wlan driver can be found here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

I recommend also to check the support page of the manufacturer of smartphone and check if there are a few known issues regarding this software

  • Cooling fan does not work on Satellite Pro A300

    Hello world

I was asked by a friend to repair their Satellite Pro A300, because their CPU cooling fan had stopped working even during the start of the POST and the laptop could overheat and shutdown. So I thought it might one of three things:
    # Fan is obstructed by dust or dirt
    # Rolling fan failed
    # Fan power cable was loose

So I disassembled the laptop and cleaned the fan/radiator with compressed air and check the connection of the supply, which was solid, but this does not solve the problem, so I replaced the fan and the heatsink with another that I knew worked from the same model laptop that had a motherboard fault due to the bug of password to start random bios (out of warranty) but still no joy.

I'm starting to believe that the fan was perfectly fine rather motherboards temperature of the processor or the sensors that control the activation of the fan has failed.
Am I correct in thinking that it is essentially, irreparable without specialized tools and my friend will be content themselves to turn the system off each hourish or is there something else I forget?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

I m not a technician, but for me, looks like the fan connector is working properly if you already replaced the fan and therefore, it would be necessary to replace the motherboard

That s all I can say about it having a look for second mainboard or laptop where you can get a motherboard cheap. Maybe it works. :)

  • Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDE re-start when it is plugged

I've had this laptop stored for awhile that I couldn't work through this problem, but I'll have another chance.

The laptop is a Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDE.
The problem I am haiving, is that the laptop might restart whenever I connect the PSU, but not when you use a live CD (Ubuntu).

Let me try to Flash a BIOS replacement to see if this will fix the problem.
Unfortunately, the necessary software to Flash the BIOS requires the laptop to be plugged.

Is there a way around this problem?
Can I trick the software into thinking it is plugged?
Is there a way I can return/repair of the BIOS in a different way because obviously the problem has always been there.

    Thank you

    Hello

Sorry mate but I'm afraid I n t m know exactly what the problem is
You said that you can not boot from a Linux Live CD, but you can install a Windows system on this laptop?

Why do you think the BIOS is the problem?
Even if the BIOS is not updated, the laptop should power on correctly and should boot

Can you explain the problem exactly?
