  I suggest you to check the Windows Update log for the exact error message. To open the windowsupdate.log file and search for the error code by scrolling the scroll at the end of the log file bar. Follow the steps mentioned below.

  Since this morning, I have problems with MSN Live Messenger and Adaware. Yesterday, they ran normal, both.

  your question isn't really a related problem of the machine. The "Checksum Error" is normal after each update BIOS since the checksum of the BIOS which consists the BIOS settings and the version of the BIOS is not correct due to a modified version of BIOS.
  So, the next time that you update your BIOS you will get a "BIOS checksum error" again. Worry not Don t, it s nothing serious.

  With regard to your Messenger:
  1. uninstall the Messenger
  2. download the latest version from the MSN site
  3. install a new
  4. have fun

  first thing, is to ensure that the application is not already installed on your device.

  Home screen > options > advanced > applications
