Component of the malfunction on Qosmio G35

Hi all, I'm really happy that I found this forum. I have a G35 AV600 running Xp and my component out (tv-Out) has just stopped working on me. Button works, I see a few changes in the display of the external monitor. And the Svideo works with the TV out button.

I checked and changed formats NTSC 480,1080 etc.

I used even the system restore to a point of restore 3 days ago, when it was working fine.
All I hear from fine blue when lines the 1080i option and I can barely see the icons of the blue gradient Office in 480i.

I checked the line and everything else I can think. Ive tried to play with the FN + F5 keys and still nothing. It was working just fine 3 days ago and I did not any changes to the system.

Anyone know about this problem? Call Toshiba for orientation will be a waste of time?
Any thoughts? Anyone know where I can get the part at a resonable price? Maybe that's all. Small is probably my favorite feature of the laptop, I took in a 55 inch TV and watch movies downloaded often.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Peace
T.

Hello

Have you tested its operation with an external display, not only with the TV? It's really not easy to say what's wrong here and why this happens.

Try testing with external monitor using the VGA port. I just hope that you won't have any similar problems.
Qosmio G35 is not known to me, but try to use all output ports video available to see if this problem occurs on a single port only.

And of course, you should contact Toshiba.

Please inform us of your new measures.

  • Qosmio G35: Cannot boot from the recovery disc

I'm in trouble from the screen of my Qosmio G35 showing lines vertical, gel, then a loop on and outside.

I used the Toshiba factory restore disc to reformat and the problem remains, I went further and chose the maquis of the HARD drive option. Bad choices made by this beginner, because now it does not recognize the drive at all, prompting me to "initialize".

Lines remain, but it is not the material of the screen happens during some process that I follow, OK.

A friend more computer over the phone prompted me to go into the BIOS, but we cannot access them. Research on the web, I tried the F12 suggested, but this does not work, just push me through in a screen offering 'Safe Mode' etc.

Any help would be welcome. Thank you

    Hello

Usually the vertical display lines looks like a hardware problem, in my view, it could be related to GPU failure.

In any case, we should start first of all the problem of CD/DVD drive you must check if the disc is properly recognized in the BIOS.

For this, it must Access the BIOS press the ESC (if Toshiba BIOS) or the key F2 (if Phoenix BIOS). Please check these two options because I m not 100% sure what the BIOS the Qosmio G35 uses.

But like I said earlier the issue looks like a malfunction of the graphics card and you must contact the ASP in your country for assistance.

  • Qosmio G35 - AV600 the TV Tuner does not work in Argentina?

I bought a Qosmio G35-AV600 in the United States and now I'm in Argentina. I connected the coaxial cable. I have to pay attention to color, but image is random on-site with squares colored all around him. Any suggestion on how to solve it?
    Thank you very much

    Hello

I think that this problem is related to the NTSC / PAL settings.
The TV tuner equipped in the notebook for a U.S. market supports only NTSC and this could be the cause of your problem.

Here is a link to an article in Wikipedia on the PAL:
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/PAL

    There, I found this:
+ In Argentina, the PAL - Nc (combination N) variant is used. It employs the line field 625/50 per second waveform of PAL-B/G, D/K, H, I, but with a frequency of 3,582 MHz chroma subcarrier. +.

  • Can Qosmio G35 - I update the BIOS to version 3.40?

    I've owned a G35-AV600.

I download the file to update the BIOS ACPI of Flash by using the provided file 'qg35v34.exe '?

I started to run the file, but I had a windows "enforcement" for several minutes with almost no disk activity. I assumed that the update of the BIOS is wrong and stopped manually (crazy, I know!).

However, the laptop seems to continue working.

Any suggestion? Should I run it again?

I'm really confused. With other laptops and PC computers, the BIOS updates worked just fine and fast.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello!

  • A few Questions on the Qosmio G35-AV650 series

I have some questions that I would ask to my Qosmio G35-AV650.

    1: I've updated the BIOS to v1.4 (2005), to v3.3 (2007), to install Vista.
Vista does not work so I removed it - I guess that I need to update the drivers again.
In any case, I got my PC to normal - delete the partition allocated to Vista and reset the boot record.
However, there was something that happened to my pc. The model has been replaced by "Laptop".

My DVD DO NOT work for recovery. It says 'BAD COMPUTER'. IM wondering how it could have happened.
If anyone could shed some light on what might have changed the name of the template, do so.
The only thing I can think is the update of the BIOS. Any ideas?

2: my HARD drive crashed at 1 point of time before. In order to
avoid any loss of data, I have intertwined around hard drives and reinstalled XP on the secondary HARD drive.
However, this is somewhat troblesome. First of all, the Qosmio player no longer, because it is
the disk of HARD original 1. Secondly, if I did a reinstall on 1 HARD drive, it would remove the Qosmio Player?

Third, if I put the hard drives back to the initial placement and boot from HDD 2, HDD 1 IS NOT recognized by the PC.

It seems I have TO boot from HDD 1 for 2 HDD is picked up by windows.
Is there a way to test PC to start from 1 HARD disk then boot from the disk HARD 2, eventually recognize two hard disks?
Or is there a way to manually "load" both hard drives?

3: what would you recommend to do if Windows won't recognize the Bluetooth device. I know that his work.
I installed a Virtual Machine and installed the bluetooth in it. It is during the driver installation process
that the installation crashes with devices NOT picked up by the operating system. Any ideas? I can't use the recovery DVD trying to install
    the original drivers [see #1].

How can 4: if I'm using the standard Windows Xp CD, I load the Toshiba RAID drivers? The only thing I see
includes a floppy drive, which does not have the kaptop.

I know this is a long post :)
Thank you for your responses and reaing.

Man, these are some deep questions. Your laptop looks new, under warranty? If so, go back to Toshiba and make them understand the 'thing'. These things are problematic I know... it is a little hidden from any sale side isn't it.

If you want to put in Vista, just follow all the instructions in the Forum of Francisco - you can tell that's the one with the most comments. If you follow the messages from scratch, you will be able to get your business laptop.

Francisco is our leader of the sect. He's awesome. He saved us where Toshiba does not have. Welcome to the fraternity.

  • Qosmio G35-AV600: blue screen during the installation of Vista?

    Hello

I have a G35-AV600 one I am trying to install windows vista.
I followed all the instructions for the driver raid and all with pure install.

But my problem is that, after the first reboot, I get a blue screen with an error message.

I know that some people had the same problem since they were posted here but no solutions have been posted.
Please if you have an idea how to solve this problem, help me, I'm desperate.

    Thank you.

    Hello

We need more information to try to help you.

    As a first step:
Have you upgraded your Qosmio G35 to be a Vista capable?

BIOS available for download from the Toshiba Web Site:

    Version 3.30 25/01/2007
Changed the BIOS to be compatible with Windows Vista.
Added support for the digital tuner US OpenCable Unidirectional OCUR (Receiver). (Shut UP-PQG33U only).
Additional requirements for Intel to improve stability when using the Intel Core 2 Duo as a single Core processor.
FIX: A smart card containing a TI controller is always set to disabled.
Fixed: Times wired / wireless LAN insured Wake-on-LAN functionality.
Fixed: Ensure a remote to work Express Media Player.
Fixed: Exclamation mark (!) appears when starting a model of TV tuner, while the RF switch matrix is turned OFF.
Fixed: S3-wake question pertaining to the remote control mode. (Models Japan only with EC/KBC V1.10)
It is the first version of BIOS for PQG33U models.
This BIOS supports Windows Vista and XP.

But my problem is that, after the first reboot, I get a blue screen with an error message.

Would you please, let us know what is the error message when you have a blue screen?

  • Qosmio G35 availability to the United Kingdom is?

I saw the Qosmio G35 AV660 specification and which is built as a standard suits my purpose entirely.
After checking all dealers and distributors in the United Kingdom, nobody seems to be aware of the existence of this version and therefore cannot give me a purchase price.

This version of the Qosmio is available from distributors in the States and the far East - can it be obtained here (UK) and at what price?

If this is not the case - there there problems with the purchase of other countries?
Thanks for any info you can pass!

    Hi Frank

The Qosmio G35 AV660 was designed specially for the American market and to my knowledge, it is not available in Europe.

I think that if you want to buy it you must contact a dealer of US laptop or an importer of mobile to the United Kingdom.

  • Qosmio G35-AV600 - what is chain to enter the BIOS for the creation of raid?

    Hello

In the bios, you can configure the RAID on the two hard drives installed. I sent to 1-RAID0, but for "RUN CREATION" it asks me to enter a special string.

He claims that this is mentioned in the manual, but when I check the user guide it talking about the raid windows util or the recovery DVDs! (Frustrating!).

Nobody knows what this special string, it's that I need to enter so that the BIOS go ahead and create the raid array?

Unfortunately, the available online recovery cd is of no help.

    Thanks for any help provided.

    > Anyone know what this special string, it's that I need to enter so that the BIOS go ahead and create the raid array?

Qosmio G35 seems to be a series Toshiba US. I have not very well if this series uses the same string as the European model G30 Mr. anyway, according to the manual of the user that is stored on the G30, you must use this string: * 1 2 3 4 and then press ENTER. *
    I would recommend this detour.

    Best regards

  • Qosmio G35-650 - do I lose my data on the HARD drive?

Ok. I tried everything to repair an installation of XP on my Qosmio G35-650.
The recovery disk was a joke and would not work... I decided to skip all the DMI troublemakers, I read and clean install a copy of XP.

Put drivers Raid on a diskette and proceeded with the installation. The installer would not install on the boot partition and gave me an error "page_fault. I went into the bios and changed disk to JBOD RAID 0, disk 1 has already been set to JBOD.
Entered again the program installation and the place where you select the partition to install only a single partition has been demonstrated.

It wasn't a good thing I backed up all my data from drive C: (disk 0) to drive F: (disc 1).
I went to the BIOS and reset the drive on Raid 0 and started the installation again.
Two partitions have been showing this time but 1 disk did not show a drive F: indicator.

The question. Have I lost all my data on the second drive of 100 GB in the system?
    My F: drive is recoverable?

    Help!

If you change the RAID settings, it will wipe the data. Generally, all systems RAID wipe data when they are created.

But you can have a chance to recover most of the data. There are data programs/recovery utilities that analyzes the HARD disk for the file fragments and attempt to recover your files (at least the files that have not yet been overwritten). Google search for "recovery data drive hard formatĀ»

Why don't you use the recovery disk? If the instrument is incorrect, you can simply download a DMI tool to update the name of the product "Qosmio G35" or "Qosmio G30".
The tool can be found on the site of Toshiba America.

  • View the Qosmio G35 - not coming not at startup

I recently tried to increase speed start by getting rid of things I don't think I needed running. Now when I start my Qosmio G35 I hit FN + F5 keys to see anything on the screen? And when I got home I couldn't extend my monitor screen, were all two virgins?

I finally booted in safe mode and was able to get my laptop screen works again, I still need to hit FN, F5 to start. What I screw up? and how do I get it back to where it was?

    > and how do I get it back to where it was?
I think that the answer is simply to enable all things you have disabled before.

  • Qosmio G35-AV650 - using the recovery CD, I get a message - MACHINE BAD!

    Hey there,

After that I got my Qosmio G35-AV650 fixed by Toshiba, since, then using the recovery DVD that comes my machine is evil!
I figured out that they changed the name in the BIOS for PC Portble, up to now, I have not found the tool (DMI) to get the fixed string...

Could someone be so kind to let me this software?

    Thank you in advance...

    Hello

It really seems like the laptop technician forgot to update the right information in the DMI!

I searched on the Toshiba site for useful info because this laptop seems to be designed for the American market only.
    I think I found a useful site;

    Check this box:
[How to eliminate the error message "Machine hurt" during the restoration of the image of the software factory: http://askiris.toshiba.com/ToshibaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=1010 7032xml & sliceId = & dialogid = 26604851 & stateId = 1% 200 %2 026606094]

But note; You should check whether the Uutility is compatible with your laptop. If this isn't the case, then contact the ASP in your country for an update!

  • Is it possible to use the CPU T7200/T7400/T7600 on Qosmio G35-AV650?

    Hi all

Is it possible to upgrade the processor on a G35-AV650 to a T7200/T7400/T7600?

The reason why I ask, is that I pulled the laptop out to give it a good clean and replace the fans, etc..
Also, it would give me a 64-bit processor

    Hello

In General, upgrading CPU is tricky because no one can tell if the BIOS would support the new processor. Although the chipset and motherboard would be able to manage the new processor, there could be a problem with the BIOS compatibility.

As mentioned, if you want to use the new processor, chipset compatibility please.
If the chipset would be able to manage the new processor, then you have a good chance to get the new processor running.

  • Qosmio G35-AV600: using Recovery CD I get partition not created error

I recently ordered a recovery for my Qosmio G35-AV600 disc, because I started in safe mode to clear an alleged threat. Silly me! I forgot the password because I constantly use the fingerprint reader. Well, at the time where, that drives recovery came, I had remembered a password and access I.

The thing is I always want to format the laptop, but I get partition not created not errors. Is it because the laptop hard drive has SATA or RAID capabilities, or because of the so-called Qosmio player. * If I could format the hard drive, I would not be able to use the laptop Qosmio mode? *

I searched here and even contacted the customer service and have not found a definitive answer. Customer support's solution was to send to an authorized repair shop. My experience with computer repair shops, is that if the problem is not hardware related, they simply reformat the disks. I could do it myself if I could get help with this "partition has not created" or the partition not deleted"errors.

    Hello

I agree with you and I also think that this has nothing to do with the hardware failure.
But who knows, if you started the operating system in safe mode then we shouldn't exclude the hardware problem (IE. HARD DRIVE).

However, the restore CD contains already all the drivers and you n t need to install SATA or RAID drivers.

In my opinion, there are bad RAID settings in the BIOS!
Please check the settings in the BIOS on the third page.

If you know n t that mean simple settings, you open the user manual and check RAID chapter in the user manual.

    Hello

I have a Qosmio G35-600. I could be wrong, but I'm sure that my volume control provides advanced controls and I had access to the entry monitor, which is now gray. I reinstalled my SigmaTel Audio Driver (qg600audiox.exe), but who return advanced controls or to provide access to the input screen. The volume control is Microsoft volume control version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_odr.101209 - 1647: Service Pack 3).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi watson123,

What input screen you mean exactly?

On the right side of the Qosmio G35, you have the volume control wheel to adjust the volume. Using this wheel, you can increase or decrease the volume of the internal speakers or headphones but it doesn t offer more options. It s just to adjust the volume.

The sound card is in the Device Manager correctly and you have any yellow exclamation points or unknown devices?
