• combination of clear data in the rule of the load

  Hi - I am looking to automate my process clear, load and calc. In my dim scenarios, I have a lot of scenarios, goes the same for my dim versions. Before loading data, how do I clear on the particular scenario and version using my rule of load functions without having to actually know what scenario and version?
  
  For example-, my load of data goes into Estimnate1, esityksen, FY10, and every month. How can I create my rule of data loading so that it will empty FY10 Estimate1, esityksen, without specifying exactly the members? Are there settings? Or the substitution variables? or something that I can use?
  
  Otherwise, I would create 72 batch files which will clear, load and calc each scenario and combination of the version that the user selects.

  Don't know what gives, I've never tried.
  My understanding is that the combination of scenario-based / version of the input file, you must clear this data before reloading of the input file.

  Create a clear calc script using sub-vars for the scenario and version.
  Create a script maxl to update the scenario and version sub-vars.
  Create a script to parse the input file to get the values of scenario and version, then call the maxl script to update sup - vars with these values.

  Then run claire calc script.
  Then load and Calc (good news, you can also use the same sup - vars for your calc rollup)

• Passing parameters to MaxL to be used in a data load rule

  I would like to create a MaxL script that accepts parameters, and this parameter is then used ina given load rule, IE. It will be used to set the exercise used in a data load rule field.
  
  is it possible somehow? I don't see how I can use the settings of a rule of data loading, but maybe I could use MaxL to set the parameter as a value in a variable substitution and maybe use this way?

  You gave the answer, yousef. You cannot pass parameters to a MaxL statement to a rule of the charge, but charge rules may have them-substitution variables (System 9 or newer). If the void var in a statement MaxL value, then on the State of charge, use that sub var fade like a header or a column header

• ODI - SQL for Hyperion Essbase data loading

  We have created a 'vision' in SQL Server that contains our data.  The view currently has every year and periods of Jan 2011 to present.  Each period is about 300 000 records.  I want to only load one period at a time.  For example may 2013.  Currently we use ODBC through a rule of data loading, but the customer wants to use ODI to be compatible with the versions of dimension metadata.  Here's the SQL on the view that works very well.   Is there a way I can run this SQL in the ODI Interface so it pulls only what I declare in the Where clause?  If yes where can I do it?

  Simply use the following KM to load data - IKM SQL for Hyperion Essbase (DATA) - in an ODI interface that has the view that you created the Source model. You can add filters to the source which are dynamically by ODI variables to create the Where clause based on the month and year. Make sure you only specify a rule of load method to load the data into the KM

  If you switch from EBS 11-12 of the EBS, you need to create a new entry in the source system in ERPi.

  Once the new source system is created, you then need to initialize the source system in ERPi.

  From there, you need to associate it with a format of import and localities in ERPI and your data load rules are then based on location.

  Server load rules files are stored on the Essbase server and can be shared by / read byde anyone with privileges on the same server. Local rules are floating just around 'somewhere' - I have never seen the point. It's not as if you need to access the file server system to save to the server.

  Hello everyone,

  Therefore the week with me to have problems of rule files.  I am loading a rule file that contains a date field in it as seen below:

  

  I made changes to my plan to allow typical steps and changed the date format as shown below:

  

  If I try to load this rule and ignore the field 'entry date' my file works fine.  Whenever I'm trying to load the rule with the active field it will not load anything and I get the message following (warning) with no error log:

  A test, I manually load a date via smartview in my intersection and the exportation of essbase looked like the following:

  I see that when I export it comes in a different format "#txt:12/31/2014" so I didn't know if I need to load different data.

  Also, I want to just take a big thank you to all those who respond to these positions.  I find this invaluable community and I hope it will be able to contribute more I become more proficient in Essbase and planning.

  Well, I finally got it and I think I learned my lesson here.  What was causing it was in the order of my articles.  One of my size was before my data so there get confused.  I need to be more careful of the order of my rules files I guess.

  That's what I want to say my dear... The query answered in the mentioned thread. However, there are some codes that are used to set the properties in the rules of the load. The value of a column the file generation of dimension with the code that you want to use and tag the column as a property in the State of charge.

  For example, use N never share.

  Two things:

  -I wasn't talking about method you import data but export data. You use the SQL method. Go to target Applications, select your application of planning/essbase, and set load method as a file. Memorize your settings

  -You need to add a new dimension to your import format (Dimension add > currency). Then add Local as expression

• Diff data loading while doing through SQL and while doing through text file

  I have an ASO cube data charges every day morning. Loading the data is automated by MaxL and this MaxL files uses a SQL (against teradata) as the source of data and a State of charge for loading data. 1 week incorrect data return has begun to show upward and nothing has been changed. It's strange when I run the SQL in a teradata assistant and copy the results to a text file and load the data via EAS from the text data source file and the same rule that data file appears on the right. Any ideas on why this is happening. So basically when I use a SQL data source and a particular rule file data seems to be missing, where as during the use of the results of the same SQL copied into a text file and load data into the text file and the same rule file it seems to work. I'm on 11.1.1.4 and in this case only a private citizen of the cube.

  Hi Ted, thanks.

  Well, you reset the database before each load that takes the properties 'Overwrite' or 'Add' of the equation which is good. And it looks like nothing of going with several buffers (no parallel loading SQL, right?). That really just leaves box "Aggregate use Last" - did you happen to check this? By default applied your MaxL charge would be "Aggregation Sum" (which is the equivalent of not check "Use Last Aggregate").

  A_defaut, I would suggest that you add a WHERE clause of your SQL query to zoom right down to one of your 'problem' values (you have not really described what you see error data) and a) load just this intersection and b) see the result of the query in the data prep Editor.

  I am trying to load data as below on a dimension without members - that works - but the dynamic Calc property does not set even though I map to the appropriate field and I get no error?
  
  My rule file using parent / child and maps the fields as Parent, child, Alias and property respectively.
  
  Below is a small snippet of my data.
  

  Period,YearTotal,"Year Total","Dynamic Calc"
  Period,OpeningBalance,"BegBalance","Store Data"

  But, all things being equal, if I load the aggregation rule - (minus sign that is) in the same column, it works fine.
  
  Is there an outside tip to set the property to store data that I need to know?

  If you load that using a rule of the load, use X for dynamic Calc.

  I use ERPi 11.1.2.1. In the workspace, it is possible to set the option of the rule of the data load to be instant, or incremental. However, I use FDM/ERPi set to load data from Oracle GL in Essbase. Is it possible for me to put in place the FDM for the data to load incremental data rules charges? Could be a parameter in the source ERPi adapter?

  Yes, the source ERPi adapter there is an option for "Method of Load Data" that will allow you to define how the rule of the DL is run. By default, it is "FULL REFRESH" but can be changed.

  (A) connecting to the application via the workbench and the source system adapters
  (B) make a right click on the Source ERPI adapter and choose "options".

  You will see an option to load method and it will be the full refresh value, choose the value of the option you want in the menu drop-down and save.

  It says completed the data is loaded, but when I check the DB stats there is no existing blocks

  Here are a few ideas...

  Do you have run you SQL outside the State of charge to check the records returned?
  Did you run the SQL manually in the rule of the load to verify that it is correctly mapped in the rule?

  You have whatever it is expressly listed in the parties 'Accept' or 'Decline' of the State of charge? "Reject" ed records will not appear in the error file.

  Hit "Refresh" when you check the stats of DB?
