Simple Noise Gate
I am looking for a simple noise gate in hearing with attack and adjustments of output. I have a speaker and a translator, each on separate microphones. But, I can hear a little the translator on the microphone from the speaker, and vice versa. I would like to completely cut the crosstalk without affecting the volume of the speaker. I tried all the dining options in the edit mode, but none seems to work well. I would like first of all a - 30dB threshold, anything below that is reduced to silence, the foregoing is passed some attack functions and release for the beginning of the first word and the end of the last word is not cut. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or where is the simple noise gate? I really appreciate your help.

It's not really simple, because you can set to do certain things, quite complicated, but essentially what you are looking for is called the dynamics processing, found under Effects > Amplitude and Compression. (AA3.0.1) in there are even a couple of noise door presets to help you get started.

How to activate Noise Gates in GarageBand?
I use GarageBand 10.1.0. I want to use a Noise Gate, but the option is grayed out and is not clickable. See picture attached. I guess I have to load a plugin to enable this feature. Can anyone advise how to do this in the latest version of Garageband? FYI, I found instructions for older versions of GarageBand which concern 'by clicking on a location empty', but I do not know how to translate these instructions for the new screens in the latest version of GarageBand.
Appreciate the help...
Noise gate will be automatically activated, if some effects have been applied to a track.
She works for instruments that use effects such as the simulation of distortion, overdrive and amp. See:
Prevent noise effects in GarageBand - Apple Support
Disturbed by the noise in quiet passages of your recordings of real instruments? No problem - meet suppressor of GarageBand.
Overdrive amp and effects like distortion simulators involve the amplification of the input signal of the real Instrument. This amplification can also push otherwise imperceptible noise instrument and the background. The noise gate can prevent these unwanted sounds at low altitude in the effects
To reduce noise in a silent passage:
- Select the desired range.
- Click the icon of headphones for the solo track.
- Open the track info window.
- Expand the window you will see "details".
- Click the box of the grid.
- Start playing the song.
- Adjust the slider of the door so that the noise disappears from silent passages, but the instrument is not still normally elsewhere.
I can not give all tracks voice, but for most pieces of guitar and bass tracks is already active, as soon as I create the track.

Hello
Y at - it a demo of Golden Gate / very simple basic that is available only to start with?
I have looked at the installation guides and admin... but impossible to find examples of good "quick start" on how to implement a simple reproduction.
Thank you
Robert.I think that the above demos are very good, but that person seeks to - end demo. In this case try this demo (one-way DML and DDL):

http://vgrigorian.com/Gg/GG02/gg_02_config.htm

It can work in Mozilla only.
Thank you.

Dealing with purge of one voice channel to another Podcast. Chaining aside?
I recorded a podcast with a new audio kit episode. 2 dynamic microphones in a blender, recorded on hearing CC via USB with a microphone on each channel.
Now I'm editing it I found that a speaker, Mark, is quite much stronger than the other, Ben, and Mark can be "heard" by Ben's mic.
CH 1 - Mark speaking loud and clear the voices.
CH 2 - voice gentler Ben. Crosstalk between Ch 1 is quite noticeable.
As a result, purge of Mark in Ch 2 creates an embarrassing mixture echo when he speaks, and Ben is not. If I solo Ch 1/Mark, her voice is nice and crisp with no echo. When Ben talks to himself, the mixture is also nice and crispy because it is not strong enough in the room to mic effect mark.
What is a good way to deal with this? I played a bit with chaining aside some dynamics processing (I'm totally new to side-chaining). It is 'ok', but it's a bit hit and Miss, in some cases when Mark and Ben call string active side Marc Ben DP, cut him too.
That explained everything well? Hard to explain something when I don't know the terminology to explain it is!
I guess every studio with 2 people or more on pickups in the same room must have this problem of "purge". How he usually treats? Next time I record, I think I'm going to try and move the microphones away from each other at first.

Well, chaining front side I think I might try a simple noise gate. Carefully put in place on the channel which is picking up 'the other guy' it might work for you.
However, if an "automatic" solution (door chain or noise side) does not work for you, and it could never be perfect - be prepared to go through and manually adjust levels manually. You will be surprised how quickly you can get with a little practice.
Long term, you're always better off trying to avoid this kind of problem at the time of registration. Simple things like choice of microphone and positioning can make a big difference, as can moving your speakers a little further out. Assuming the use of directional microphones, putting the microphones back to back to use dead spot in picking model... and mobile people a little father goes to use the "inverse square law' might well give you what you need without a lot of treatment.

So, I recently did a video shoot where my wireless microphone picked up a radio throughout the entire video station. Radio noise was picked up on the L and R channels, but the audio that I want to keep was only picked up on L is it possible to isolate the R and use it as a noise print to remove two channels in order to preserve my audio? I work in the hearing CS6 thanks!
If the signal is truly identical in both channels, you can possibly use a paste invert to remove it. It would be experimental surgery and may not work, but it is worth checking.
1. open the file and disable the left channel by clicking on the [L] button to the right of the waveform.
2 Select all and copy to the Clipboard.
3. turn again on the left channel, disable the right channel
4. make sure that the playhead is at the very beginning of the file and select Edit > Mix Paste
5. Select "reverse copied Audio" and click OK.
Who should apply a signal reversed the truck radio on channel which also contains the desired signal. If the two strings are the same, this should minimize interference. If this isn't the case, then it will be a terrible and you need to quickly CANCEL the foregoing.
Then, I would say that the steps above, but select the right channel and capture it as a sound impression, as you suggest. Then turn on the left channel and open the overview and the noise reduction effect.
If the signal is most obvious during the silence between intervening on the left lane, you might want to try the dynamic effect of transformation to create a Noise Gate, which passes only sound when it is above the level of the radio signal. It is not the optimal solution, but we can try if none of the above suggestions is successful.

project loan but not made all video - help please
We completed a video project in first Pro CS4; all images, video and sound tracks are performed. He played well in the preview pane. Once we made it, we got four files on the desktop (two other files (index?) (voir les images ci-dessous pour voir ce qu'ils sont), an audio and an AVI file). To see how they have read, we put the audio and video file into Windows Movie Maker, and the video clip (see attached screenshot) only covers the first half of the project. The audio and the video are synch would be completely at this point and the audio comes on at the end, after that, but not video. Do you have any suggestions as to why?
I've also included some files like DxDIAG and ProcessExplorer (I can't find a way to include the .nfo file but if someone can tell me how to send it) (I don't see a button "attach file" on the menu display will then stick the text, sorry it's so long)
We tried to get this project done for about two months and have had so many problems (a learning curve, some with the PC, gel, etc.). Would love to get them all done. I have a Dell 630XPS desktop (I think that attached files containing the specifications).
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide and I will be more than happy to provide answers if you have any questions.
Thank you
Mike

Skype detects microphone does not detect but no sound through it
Hello
I have my headset connected to my card his and my card its connected to my PC via the USB cable. I tested with two cables different and three different ports.
When I connect my headphone directly on the PC, everything works.
When I connect it to the sound card, the microphone is detected but when I talk to Skype levels will not upwards, unless I'm talking really loud or put the microphone almost inside my mouth. The thing is, he works outside of Skype. I put the setting on windows to hear what the microphone picks up and I hear what I say, but it does not appear on the levels of Skype.
Any solution to this?
Thank you
And apparently, the sound card has an option "noise gate" turned to 100% which, for some reason, did not allow programs capture levels. I put it completely, and even though the quality seems a bit tipsy, it works now.

How to replace the real gaps between the waveform with Silence?
Is there any Automation I can use for this? I tried the diagnosis, but it was not what I was looking for. Toppings of diagnoses, or real breaks removes or gaps, I like to keep the correct gaps, I want to just reduce to silence all at once, with a single command. Help, please!
There is no way to do this completely automatically. However, there are two ways that might be time saving. Normally, it is easier to do it manually but which may seem tedious. If you assign a shortcut to the command of Silence key, then this is fast enough to get through the file manually mark each region one both and use your shortcut key to shut parts of the selection.
Another way is to use the Noise Gate or Expander mode Dynamics Processor to automatically reduce the level of any audio below a certain level. Try the Noise Gate > 20dB preset but move the 20dB point to something that is below the level of any speech search.
Although generally it is clear that sounds a little artificial if you cut all the gaps completely since the human ear is used to hear some background noise during gaps in the speech. Usually, the best way is to find a fairly quiet background piece and which allows to replace unwanted sounds in the interstices.
-
Could someone help me understand how I could accomplish this?
Okay, so I try to create an effect that tells hearing: If the noise just picked up the microphone volume is UNDER 'x' strong db, then it didn't out. I need of to happen in audio editing multitrack/live. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
You have to look in the Amplitude and the treatment of the effects/Dynamics of Compression for a predefined gate or Expander. Try the Noise Gate > 20dB at first. But you will need to adjust the controls to the suite your audio especially.

Audio 'Cutoff' that falls below a threshold?
I use hearing during the recording of my voice and use the filter balancer voice so that it sounds better (on top an equalizer) but when I breathe you can hear a sound of ffffwpt voice amplifier makes it stronger and it always strikes on - 30db and my voice at its lowest level is at-25db. Can I do so that it removes the audio, then removes the gap?
How to bind a key to several actions, it would be nice just hit a button and do several things automatically.
Bond agreement, in order:
The effect you need to mute unwanted, quieter noises is called a "noise gate. It is in the menu effects/Amplitude and Compression/dynamics. Once in the treatment of the dynamics, there are a couple of presets of Noise Gate - choose the closest to your needs and start from there. However, make it work for you - if at all - will take VERY care tweaking. A difference of 5 dB in audio terms is very small and you run the risk of either inhibition of some wanted to voice or missing of a few breaths.
You cannot set to remove mute parts, but once you cut them, hearing can cut out of silence. The commands to do this are under Silence effects/Diagnostics/remove. (You can also open the Diagnostics controls more permanently in the dropdown Windows.) Yet once, you must carefully to avoid deleting settings wanted breaks rather than quick breaths.
Finally, you can group a series of processes to run sequentially on a single order. Check the Edit/batch process. However, this is only really useful on effects/processes that do not need to have their settings tweaked differently for each audio file. For example, open a file/normalize to-1 dB/save as MP3 would be easy. The use of noise barriers and remove silence commands would be quite difficult because all files will need different settings.

Cs6.02 Mac Premiere Pro 10.7.5 crashing every 2 min.
Hi Group had a horrible summer where first pro 6.0 - 6.01 crashed all the time, this means that every 1-2 mins on both of my machines that are a 2012 macbook pro and imac, both have max ram and SSD drives. As most of you experienced after that 10.7.5 and 6.02 is released things went pretty easily, but yesterday, the crash came. I tried two reinstalls of Premiere Pro 6.0 and 6.02 upgrading as well as result of my Boris and Magic Bullet, but I am experiencing now crashes on every 1-3 min trying to reduce noise audio and minor scouring. My project is only 5 min long I have magic bullet looks on the reduction of video and simple noise on audio tracks, do not understand what is happening.
To back up, I had to reinstalls because PP refused start crashed on every restart, even after restarting the computer and running the utility disk from another computer. It's maddening and so disappointing, the CS6 any update at level of nightmare really made me lose some faith in Adobe. In my mind if Adobe had not spent so much time trying to rent their software through cloud and made the cs6 work they would be converted so many former users of the PCF as me.
In any case, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to do, I tried dumping the prefs. cache cleaning, newspapers etc. I have over 300 GB of space on a 2nd SSD drive via esata via thunderbolt as my drive to work. In the past, I've done everything reinstalled from scratch on the OS, but I'm tired of losing 3 to 5 hours, this. I seriously think to go to AVID if this crash is not resolved...
So please help dear reader a poor soul like solve me this problem...
Try unistalling all the plug-ins. It can be fixed now, but the plugin for creating audio denoiser caused crashing into Cs5.5, not sure if you were using that. Try to be like barebones, as you can and slowly add things back.
As KGCW said, try to ML. I think that Adobe has released a statement that was more stable with CS6 last ML.
All the best!

OK, here's my problem - I have a set of audio interface Protools Digi 002 via Firewire 400 on a PowerMac G5 I was lucky enough to be given last year. I finally managed to connect my home recording studio system, he wire of mixer etc, but when I listen to the music coming from the outputs of the Digi 002 there in a great cacophony of audio interference, so much and so well, when I mount the system I can move my pointer between two monitors and it plays a different frequency of buzz. Everytime I open a window, Soft etc it is more electronic noise.
He took a while to limit, but after reading this excerpt from wikipedia, it seems that it was a fault common to this particular model until Apple released the revised version of the B of the G5 (?);
' The first versions of the dual processor G5 have problems of noise . The first is ground loop- based interference,[5] that sometimes causes noise seeps into the outputs audio analogue. This bug has been fixed in Rev. B G5.'
and
' Well that the noise problems do not prevent computers affected work, they asked problems for audio professionals and enthusiasts as well, especially for models to liquid cooling, which had been expressly designed as mechanically quiet for listeners. "
Well, that's no euphemism - in fact it makes the mac completely useless for my needs, I need the outputs clean digital noise to send for outboard effects/EQ/etc.
As it was a common fault, I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a workaround solution, as I can't imagine recording ground studios just stop until this has been fixed by releasing a new G5?
The only idea that I came up with so far is to buy a transformer of isolation, but I'm not entirely convinced that will solve the problem?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Have you tried CHUD Tools & turn off NAP mode?
The first versions of the dual processor G5 have problems of noise . The first is ground loop- based interference,[5] , which causes sometimes analog audio output sound leaks. This bug has been fixed in Rev. B G5.
The second problem of noise came from his "tweets", which can be triggered by power fluctuations. For example, display or hide the Dock makes a short beep. Many blamed the power supply used in the G5 as the cause, but this theory has never been confirmed. A very effective workaround is to disable microprocessors 'siesta' using Apple CHUD Tools, but this was not recommended by Apple. This noise problem has not set until the generation of dual-core G5s was produced, but it does not affect the model of "Late 2004" (at least there have never been reports). Draw of power fluctuation has been later attributed to the lack of power management features in processors simple heart. [6] Apple eventually posted information bug tweets on its support site. [7]
Although noise problems did not prevent the computers assigned to work, they were problematic for audio professionals and enthusiasts as well, especially for models with cooling liquid, which had been expressly designed as mechanically quiet for listeners.
https://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Mac_G5
Just one last note on the use of CHUD tools to disable the 'Nap' on the G5 Dual functionality: restart your machine reactive 'Nap '. You may have already seen this on the Apple forums. Kind of a bummer - although I rarely shut down my machine. In any case, running with 'Nap' off today seems to have resulted in a significant increase in general speed/responsiveness for me (I'm still running the stock 512 MB RAM, with another 1 GB on the way).

The noise stopped working on Satellite P100
The noise stopped working.
Toshiba diagnosis explains his failure, but after all the rest is good, any ideas?Hello
That said the State of the sound card in Device Manager?
You don't see any yellow exclamation?Have you tried to update (restore) audio driver?
Have you checked if the 'secret' was not enabled?
You hear something using the headset?
Please check these simple steps, and view the results.

Start of satellite L10 fan speed and noise
My L10 cooling fan start always maximum speed, when it turns on it always burst at maximum speed (and noise) and then slow down to a speed (and slient relative). This fan start noise is very annoying (as fan departure every half hour in office work and every 15 minutes in some simple games).
I try muffler or bios settings performance they do not fix the noise and the starting speed.
Maybe Toshiba could release some bios update or patch or something to fix this? (my bios version 2.0)
Maybe this problem has the solution software thrid party?
Or the fan speed max is just a hardware problem?Thank you.
Hello Albert
The same thing my Qosmio F20 and in my opinion, it is not any kind of technical problem. At the moment I'm typing this text and hear Internet radio at the same time. The cooling fan works regularly.
In my opinion, when the operating system runs several different processes running in the background and they need the CPU activity that needs to be cooled correctly. In my opinion, you should check the power settings management settings and change the performance of the processor to lower the level.
If the cooling fan runs every 15 minutes, in my opinion, it is not too often.
Good bye

Satellite A660-12 t / A660-1FL - which we have less fan noise?
A couple of days, I received my brand new Toshiba A660 12 t. Everything is perfect except the noise from the fan. It is particularly strong for me that I often use the laptop in the library. For simple tasks, the fan runs between 59% and 67%. I tried different things to play with the power settings for the Bios upgrade and graphics card but nothing has changed.
Now I want to go back and change it with the Toshiba A660-1FL. Why this one? Two laptops have the same characteristics and the same price except the graphics card and the CPU. mine comes with Nvidia 330 m and I5-430. on the other side, the A660-1FL comes with the integrated Intel GMA HD and the I5 - 460.
I thought that maybe the graphics card is the reason!
Does anyone know if the fan noise will be reduced if I use a less dedicated graphics card? Should I change? in this case the GMA HD is a good graphics card?
If someone uses a Toshiba A660-1FL, could you please tell me if the fan is strong?I appreciate your help. Thanks in advance
Hello
NVidia GPU is a powerful graphics card, and especially these maps are designed for games.
The GPU from Intel is also a good graphics chip, but it of not powerful as the nvidia chip.
The nVidia chip would allow the current apps much smother but it creates more heat. This would affect the cooling fans which means that the fans would go more quickly and often.
So, theoretically the laptop with Intel GPU should be a little more quiet.
