Simulator of flight on SP3?

Hello. I was about to buy Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition, but I noticed that in the system requirements, it says "Windows XP SP2". I knew that SP2 meant Service Pack 2, but I didn't know who had MS my PC. I just found out that my PC has Service Pack 3 installed, so I wanted to know if Flight Simulator will work on Service Pack 3, even though it says Service Pack 2 in the box.

Flight Simulator X is the most recent (and last) version of Microsoft FS, it was released in 2006.  Service Pack 3 for XP was not released until 2008, so the statement of "minimum requirements" know not sp3.

You do not want to uninstall sp 3.  FS X will work OK, but you can read some of these Google results

    Hi Gmwill,

You must use a Flight Simulator CD to install it on the new computer.

However, if you do not, you may get in touch with Microsoft to buy the product.

It sounds like what you have bought is a third-party add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator. If that's what you have, it will not work as a standalone program and it can not be installed without its own version of the flight simulator designed for already installed. In order to launch this module, you will have everything first purchase and install the Microsoft Flight Simulator.

  • Uninstall/reinstall my error message sim flight "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action.

original title: how to create a binding file

I had to uninstall/reinstall my Simulator of flight and went on to play and this poped message in 'this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. " Create an association in the set Associations control panel. " How to create an association?

    Hello

    1. you have made no changes to the computer before the broadcast took place?
    2. What is the exact error code that you get?
    3. what operating system do you use?

    Method 1
Uninstall the game completely, try the steps from the following link:

Problems installing and uninstalling programs on Windows computers
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2438651

    Method 2
Perform the clean boot and then install the game in administrator mode.

Note: Don't forget to restart your computer as usual by following step 7 after installing the game.

  • Associating the play with the program file

When you try to run MS Flight Simulator X Standard (with the two SP1 & SP2) since the Games Explorer in Vista Ultimate (32 bit) I get an error message to set an association of program in the control panel all Associations. As a matter of fact, all the games in my game Explorer display this message.

I know how to define associations, I do not know what extensions of file (or files) to associate with what programs.

I associated the extensions '.flt' and '.fssave' to program Microsoft Flight Simulator (followed by the little 'R' trademark symbol). I found in program files-> Microsoft-> MS Flight Simulator Games, it's the Simulator.exe flight. Yet I still get the error message. Shouldn't she have joined when I installed the program from the disk I bought?

I have also used the disk to do a "Repair Installation", has not improved the situation.

    FZT,
When you open Games Explorer and try to launch a game by double-clicking on the icon or clicking the play option in the task pane, the following error message may appear:
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the set Associations control panel.

However, you can run the game using the shortcut on the start menu.

This happens if the IsShortcut registry value for .lnk (shortcut) file is deleted in an attempt to hide the overlay icon in the shortcut. To resolve this problem, re-create the IsShortcut registry value.

    Method 1
Download and apply the fix for the binding of the .lnk file available from several third-party online sites.  Search for "vista Explorer game associations."

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

    Method 2
    1. Click Start, type regedit.exe and press ENTER

    2. navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile
    3. in the right pane, create a string (REG_SZ) named IsShortcut value

    4. close the registry editor and restart Windows.

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk

I hope this information is useful for your problem.  Let us know if you need help.

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 required administrator rights

I have Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (I know, I know) and when I try to run it from a limited account, I get an error stating that I have administrator privileges. Is it possible to replace that or enter my password once? I don't need my children asking me my password every time they want to play. It doesn't seem like it does all what changes the computer, why can't it be used in a user account only limited?

    Specifications of the computer:

    • HP (not sure of the exact model number)
    • Windows XP SP3 (fully updated)
    • AMD Athlon X 2 Dual Core 4400 + @2.19 Ghz
    • 1 GB OF RAM
    • Graphic ATI Express 200 Radon

I don't mind enter my password once to grant access, I'm not only you have to enter it every time my kids want to play. Thank you for your help.

    This is normal.

As a work around, follow these steps:

    1. Click on the shortcut or the name of the program file.
    2. Click Advanced, click run with different credentials, and then click OK.
    3. Start the program.
    4. When you are prompted, type an administrator user ID and password.

  • Flight Simulator 2004 noise problem

Hello... I had some problems with his troublesome on my FS2004...
    First some back-story:
I had some problems with my system and had to reinstall windows and my file system on my partition where I had Flight Sim seems to be damaged and cannot do anything with these files... not even remove them (although I can copy and install the files on it without problem). It's just the files that were on this partition before you reinstall windows. But right now, I don't want to format this partition as there could be some files on what I would miss to reinstall. I reinstalled the Flight Simulator on another partition on another driver and began to resettle some of my files (do not copy d, but ones I still have the installers).
OK, here's the real problem... I went to the test one of my plane and noticed that the coil in place is not smooth and continuous when the sound of the engine is higher... it sounds pretty lag despite everything (graphic) being very smooth and without other sound problems. It looks like jump notes. I also checked that the throttle, which increases smooth as well, it's just the noise that seems to ignore the notes (such as 1... 4... 8... (15) I tried all sorts of stuff... reinstalled flight sim several times... installed the latest version of directx... installed the latest sound driver... dxdiag does record all errors.
In addition, I have not had this problem before with FS2004 and did not change anything on my hardware. I don't even know where to look. I can't imagine it being a hardware problem... Even I don't think it's a driver problem. Is there some kind of configuration than that damn hidden? I'm about to be quite frustrated .
Does anyone have any ideas or experiences regarding this problem?

    Intel Core 2 Duo (2 x 1.87 GHz)
    Built-in High Definition Sound
    Win XP Pro SP3

I guess the rest is pretty irrelevant... and as I said already Flight Simulator works perfectly on the same system and I have not changed any hardware since then... The driver seems to be as well... its working pretty flawless for everything (music, videos, etc...). It's just that its engine spool-up/down interrupted, which is very annoying.
