Simulators clean.bat versus own simulators Eclipse... cleanup option

When I run clean.bat since the directory: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 5.0.0\simulator it opens a DOS window and take clean actually almost 50 seconds.

When I choose the option Clean simulators of the project > menu BlackBerry in Eclipse it runs for just a second or less.

What is the project > BlackBerry > own simulators doing? He can't call the clean.bat file.

the bat file is a bit archaic, because it defines the attributes of each (original) file, remove everything without attribute and removes the attribute once again, something like that.

the right files are hardcoded in the eclipse plugin and so the code takes much less time to decide what to remove.

  • Clean.bat not in all simulators?

I can find clean.bat in the simulator that comes with JDE. But in the simulators that I downloaded separately (for example, BalckBerry_Simulators_4.5.0.55_8320.exe) and used with JDE, I can't see a file clean.bat anywhere inside the Simulator model. They don't clean.bat at all? How do you clean them?

These batch files are usually more then necessary. I tend to use for every directory of the Simulator:

    forfiles -p "C:\tools\rim\simulators\4.7.0.75-9530" -d "11/27/2008" -c "cmd /c if @isdir==FALSE del @file"

It will delete all files in this directory and after the date... then set the date for the next day, the Simulator was shipped.

    (2) system does not run fast even after Disk Cleanup, what should I do to make it faster?

    Hello

    1. have there been recent changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1:

If you want to reduce the number of unnecessary files on your hard disk to free up disk space and then go ahead and delete it, it would help your computer run faster.

Disk Cleanup removes temporary files, empty the Recycle Bin, and removes a variety of file system and other items that you no longer need.

  • Always printing black ink cartridge is not after several clean using your own ink cartridges

I have a HP Deskjet 3050 All in One J610 series printer.

    I use Windows XP.

I'm a Newbie as HP printers are concerned, but some have experience troubleshooting former HP model a parent.

The black cartridge is not printing.   For various reasons, I have not used the printer for about two months.  So far, the printer worked fine, and in fact it is still using the cartridges that came with the printer.  I mention these points here because I realize or the other or both can be part of the issue.

When I sent a document to the printer, printing was uneven.  I checked ink levels and black and color cartridges were about the third two full (before I used the print head cleaning utility.

After cleaning the printheads, I tried again and this time the impression was the same, but in a shade of light blue, which was very low.  However, the original document is in a police man and a shade of gray, so perhaps he used ink cartridge color and not black?

Research using the viewer help from HP does not help because it implies that you don't know how to locate the ink cartridge Clean Utility.

After searching on Google to match the questions, I tried a second and then a third level of cleaning.  And because a post mentioned have to do eight times, I did a little more luck.  When the page is printed at the end of the cleaning cycle, the colors come out crisp and even.  There is no black bloc... is there?  I can't find an image showing a what print perfect following cleaning should look like.

Additional to clean using the utility attempts do not seem to have worked and could even have been counterproductive because when I tried to print another document, and this came out so pale that I first thought that it is a blank page.

I used the utility to re-estimated ink levels and the color is always about two third full, while black has dropped a little down, but is still above half full.  There is a check/tick showing for black ink and color.

Messages on similar questions suggest that the replacement of the cartridge does not solve the problem and that heads should be cleaned manually.

Should I try to clean the heads manually?  Who was mentioned on the threads and even on the HP support but as another option for a very different model.   I watched some demos on You Tube, but they are for different models of HP, in which they remove the printheads and clean them in a solution provided in the trade which I think is available in the United Kingdom, or with water!

I would be grateful for any advice as to whether I should remove the black cartridge and clean heads printing and, if so, if someone could point me to a link where this is illustrated step by step, video, or shown in the logical steps.

In the meantime I'll go off and buy a new black cartridge, but if it's the heads need cleaning, I'll have to do anyway.

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

I would like to manually clean the contacts on the cartridges and the printer. The process is described for your model of printer in step 3 of this document here.  The rest of the document does not apply to your question, but it does a great job giving instructions step by step on the manual cleanup process and materials needed to use lists. Manual cleaning will help ensure that the accumulation of contacts is not the cause of the issue of the print quality that you are experiencing. I hope this helps.

  • I'll be able to perform a clean install of Windows 7 (Vista Upgrade Option)?

I was wondering if I would be able to perform a clean installation of Windows 7 with "upgrade drive" we are is sent when Windows 7 is released October 22, 2009. I had read that we will be able to upgrade the sense we will keep all our old stuff, however I just want to perform a clean install without all the garbage that comes preloaded on the computer when you buy it.

Yes, you will be able to clean install with upgrade disc. Generally, everything you had will go into a folder named windows.old, if you have backed up everything you can delete this folder but if not only get what you need, then delete. This issue will take place. The folder contains all the files you had, the programs, but you can not open them or he'll tell program not found and the files of vista or xp. I hope this helps. Just at the moment where you see the menu level or custom installation, click Custom install and who should be the ability to clean the facility.                  OS: Windows 7 Professional. PC: HP DV4t.

  • Application does not not in Eclipse v1.1 Beta simulators

Intention: I want to see my candidacy in the Simulator

Problem: I am unable to view my request in the Simulator, most of the time. After that restart the Simulator a couple of times and make minor changes the settings, sometimes, the application is displayed. These settings changes are more superstitious as applicable as they never work constantly. This is a recent problem and I don't know what I changed in my workspace to cause this problem start.

    Eclipse: Galileo

    Plugin: v1.1 Beta 2

    Component Pack: net.rim.ejde.componentpack5.0.0_5.0.0.14

    Simulators: 9000, 9550, 9700

    OS: Vista 32 bit

Previous posts with similar problems. Some of the proposed solutions are not applicable for the v1.1 Beta 2 plugin.

    Measures already taken:

    • Connected clean.bat a cmd window
    • Removed the .dmp files in directory Simulator
    • Delete the debug profile and created a new profile of debugging for my application
    • Checked the download folder in the Simulator to see if the application there lurked
    • Checkboxed option for the project to create the files .alx file in the application descriptor xml
    • Make sure .cod, files .alx, .jad and .jar and other associated files were in the repertoire of Simulator
    • Checked the timestamps of files in the directory of Simulator to ensure that they were the most recent application
    • Built manually by right-clicking on the project project-> Blackberry-> package projects (s)
    • Open the .jad files and .alx files in a text editor to verify that the version numbers are correct
    • Looked for .err files in the directory of Simulator and did not
    • Check my PATH: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_17\bin

The solution is in bold below. I don't know if this is a solution because I still don't know the cause of the problem and it is just a generic solution that can fix any number of problems.

    Other things tried that failed

    • Uninstalled all simulators that existed prior to 5.0
    • Reinstalled Eclipse (3.5 SP2) with Eclipse Plugin 1.1 Beta 2

After the reinstallation of Eclipse and the Eclipse plug-in and still having the problem persists, I realized that the problem must be with my project itself or the workspace. I came finally with this solution:

    Solution

I created a new workspace, a new project and just copy/paste the source files of my old project to the new project. Then I spent some time to reconfigure my project to look like my old project (eg. Application BlackBerry Simulator settings descriptor)

I don't know if the problem was my project or workspace. At this point, I have little patience for the cause, and I'm really grateful now that my application appears whenever I run the Simulator.

  • cleaning of the simulators

What is the best way to clean all simulators?

Currently I have a RIM BB JDE installed 4.2.0.98 that works with the default 8100 Simulator. I am only able to reset [clean] 8100 Simulator using clean.bat.

I installed other simulators, BB 8820 and BB 8520 and you need to know how to clean these simulators.

    Kind regards

    Ahmed

Remove the files in the folder of the Simulator with suffixes as follows:

    .dmp

    . CSO

    . CSL

    . Debug

    .jar

  • What are simulators worth?

If my app works on all simulators that I try, it is OK to submit the AppWorld? I am not a device to try it.

Sure. First of all, download your files .jad and .cod on a server somewhere. Remember that the server uses for these files correct mime types. On Apache, you may need to put the latter in a .htaccess file:

    AddType application/vnd.rim.cod cod

    AddType text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor jad

Assuming that you are running from Eclipse, create a run configuration that has "Devices Enable security" checked on the general tab of the Simulator tab. Also, make sure that the MDS - CS will launch with the Simulator (unless you run the MDS Simulator separately). Finally, make sure that your project is not enabled on the projects tab - you want to load it OTA, not directly from your hard drive.

Launch the simulator (s) by using the run configuration. In the Simulator, open the browser application and enter the address of your .jad file. The app must download and install live.

To clean the Simulator, run clean.bat Simulator directory.

  • How can I remove the persistent database on stand-alone simulators?

I use stand-alone device simulators (not of JDE or Eclipse according to) to test an application on multiple platforms. In order to do some tests first-time behavior, I need to blowing the persistent data store before each new installation. In the JDE-based simulators, there is a clean.bat which does just that. However, for these simulators autonomous, that I can't find anything like that under the folder, they were installed in. I tried to reset, and I tried to uninstall and reinstall the Simulator itself, and yet the data is * really * persistent - won't go away. Of course it's stored somewhere else.

Does anyone know how to remove all data on these stand-alone simulators?

I use Windows Vista, 4.2.1\4.2.1.96...7130-Cingular ...\Research in Motion\BlackBerry device simulators Simulator.

    Thank you

    Jay

Vista virtualizes the app directory in "Program Files" when an application tries to write.

You can find the files in your Users in AppData directory.

Click on the C: drive in Explorer, and then look for *.dmp.

    It's probably something like c:\Users\jaybb\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\...etc...

  • Simulators to keep crashing

    Hello

For some reason, BB simulators die when running.  I was hoping that the simulator of 4.7 would have this problem, but unfortunately, he dies too.  Very frustrating.  Any ideas?

Application error - BlackBery Smartphone Simulator

    Error inside JVM:

    Access vialotion 0x00000008 reading

I get this when the sim card is 'start-up', before you see anything other than the skin of BB.

I think that this Simulator bug is not fixed since 4.2.  In these simulators, sometimes nuking the COD files works, but I can't even find the files of COD in the 4.7.  Help.

    Hello

    Thanks for your post.

I tried clean.bat, bu that did not work because it cleaned up the wrong directory.  I found the right directory and deleted the cod and my project directory dmp files suitable and who stopped at the crash site.

I thought that the files in:

    \Program Files\Research in Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.7.0\simulator

but turns out that they were in (there are no clean.bat this directory):

    C:\Program search in Motion\BlackBerry Smartphone simulators 4.7.0\4.7.0.41 (9530)

Perhaps a bug of Setup to focus on the RIM?  I'd actually prefer that they will focus first on the big memory leak bug HTTP.

    Thank you
