Single Page PDF export in InDesign?

We just started sending only our catalogs directly to the printer, rather than sending them through a pre-press House. We have fixed most of the snags, but the biggest pain now export a PDF file to send to the printer. Right now, we must go on a page at once - open the spread, export one page, the other page to export, close it and move on to the next. Needless to say, that takes some time.

Can I export a PDF from the book file. This part is pretty simple. But what I'd like is to export my address book file and wind upward with a PDF split into individual pages, which I could then download it just to the printer. I know I could export the PDF book, and then open the book in Acrobat format and break a page at a time, but it's almost too prone to mistakes like the longest.

I think a script customized for Acrobat can do this work for me, but I don't know.

If anyone knows how to make this work, it could save us a ton of time.

You don't need a script. Export the entire PDF file. Open in Acrobat Pro and use the command extract pages.

    Hello world

    I do a few sheets of paper letterhead and comp for various departments at work whose details are populated via a merger of 2 page data (pg 1 is the paper letterhead and pg 2 is the sliding of the comp).

    I have to send them to the evidence, for the moment, I'm so split the exported in acrobat PDF file and save them in for the relevant series.

    But is there a better way to do it? I can export all bed 2 pages for each PDF would include a header and a slip of comp?

    So (if I had departments a, b, and c) I'd end up with 3 PDF files containing the underside

    (1) letterhead & comp one

    (2) letterhead b & b comp

    (3) letterhead c & c comp

  • Doc page PDF export.

    When I export a doc page to PDF function stops page index score does not appear to work, for example, when I place the cursor on the page number in the new PDF, the hand symbol copy content page and the page does not open.

    That ability is not taken in charge when Pages PDF exports. In fact, there is no usable exported links. A downside when you export to PDF is that supported in Adobe Acrobat features are not supported in no Adobe product of PDFs.

  • Automation of several scanned page PDF export to Excel

    We have MANY PDF files scanned at work (about 8 400) that we need to export to Excel. There are a few tricky parts to what I'm trying to find out if there is a way to automate this. These are all individual PDF files, but I know that I could convert them all to a multipage PDF, if I need to, that shouldn't be a problem. The major problem being that we want only a small part of all files PDF, the upper left corner that has some basic information (name and address) to be exported to an Excel worksheet. The rest of the PDF file is not required. If that helps anything on the automation of formatting are simple page PDF. Anyone know if this is possible?

    I asked this in the PDF forum, but someone suggested to ask in the forum of java script instead.

    It can be done, most likely, but it would be a custom script to extract the text from the desired coordinates and then export it to a format that can be read using Excel (for example, a text file delimited by tabs). This is not a simple task, however.

  • Quality PDF export from InDesign and Photoshop problems

    Hello.

    I have problems exporting my InDesign files to PDF and keeping the Res. And it's not only images (I understand on the CIO) is the guy over there too.

    I exported as preset high quality printing - this is false. Are there other settings to make sure the PDF export retains the quality of high resolution and clarity?

    At the time of high resolution when I export jpeg or eps but not PDF.

    I also noticed the same problem when I export to PDF from Photoshop.

    I really need to create interactive and high quality print PDF of my InDesign files.

    Please can you advise.

    Thank you

    Karen

    Sounds like it might be that the setting resolution in Acrobat is not corresponding to the screen.

  • Convert Doc Word multi-page to Single Page PDF

    I use Acrobat X Pro. I would like to convert a Word doc of multi page in one long page PDF. When I go to the doc in Word using "Web layout", it displays as single page doc. But when I save in either PDF or PDF of print, page breaks are added when you create the PDF file.

    My ultimate goal is to create a PDF file for viewing online without page breaks. Any suggestion as to how to I could achieve this would be appreciated.

    In fact, if you have created a long page as you suggest, you would have created a major printing problem for those who want to print the document. They would not be able to adapt the content to their timesheet without being tiny and unreadable. It does not flow to the next page. This isn't the basic structure for a PDF file. I strongly suggest to leave in a letter or A-4 format and by setting the default display settings of the document value to the continuous. Other than a small page break having demonstrated that he would give the same result you're going after. If you want to almost continuous, and then set the top and bottom margins in the WORD document to zero.

    @ Jongware

    a script would however be AWESOME!

    Really, it is trivial. Fill out your Preset favourite in the first line and your export path in the 2nd, and you're ready to go.

    var pdfPreset = "[Press Quality]";
    var exportPath = "/c/temp";
    for (aPage=0; aPage < app.activeDocument.pages.length; aPage++)
    {
    app.pdfExportPreferences.pageRange = app.activeDocument.pages[aPage].name;
    app.activeDocument.exportFile (ExportFormat.PDF_TYPE, File(exportPath+"/"+app.activeDocument.pages[aPage].name+".pdf"), false, pdfPreset);
    }

  • Fonts by which Suits as a PDF exported from InDesign

    I am looking for a solution to some fonts display incorrectly in a PDF file when they look fine in InDesign.

    I'm on Mac OSX, Acrobat 10.1.13 and 10.1.11 (update did not help) and font book is my font manager.

    Fonts are not lacking in InDesign and the control panel fonts shows them as installed. But the problem fonts seem to miss in the properties of Acrobat/Fonts tab until I have install with the font book. They all show as embedded subset.

    For example, it is a page of InDesign (ignore the contours of the block):

    Screen Shot 2014-12-22 at 4.31.47 PM.png

    Here's a PDF of screen capture:

    Screen Shot 2014-12-22 at 4.32.52 PM.png

    The police is Carta (the boxes), but of other fonts substituted a font serif for other text as well.

    I can't recreate the circumstances since I have now installed the fonts that were incorrectly. I guess that InDesign can locate and display fonts in the working folder, but can't Acrobat.

    It doesn't seem to be any warnings there is a police problem. Is there a foolproof way to find out if a font is being overridden in Acrobat?

    In fact, there is no such set of privileges as Overview of privileges in terms of integration. TrueType and OpenType fonts is to allow No incorporation (police cannot be embedded in a PDF, EPS file or ePUB in any circumstance), Preview and print incorporation (the police may be incorporated, but only for display purposes and printing - such text in the PDF file cannot be edited) or installable embedding (police can be installed later somewhere else).

    When you export a PDF from InDesign, if the font used in the InDesign document contains at least Preview and integrating printing privileges, it will be incorporated into the PDF file. Otherwise, you will get probably a warning to export InDesign, but also a PDF file which does not display correctly unless you have these fonts actually installed on the computer of the recipient of the PDF file system.

    The way to check regarding the font is well embedded in a PDF file is to open the file in Acrobat, press the Command D, then click on fonts at the top of the dialog box. Each policy referenced in the PDF file is listed. If the police is incorporated, it says either embedded or subset incorporated with the name of the font. If the police is not incorporated, it will also tell you what the font is used for display, perhaps the same font, accessed from your installed fonts or perhaps a substitution font.

  • Print a PDF export in InDesign

    I exported a few screen of InDesign documents to PDF. When I print documents, some parts cut (upper part of the article or at the bottom), but it is still possible on paper. I ' ts as the printer decides not to print the sections. I print on paper 5x7inch and all my documents show their sizes as 5x7inches.

    Thank you all for the help... I think that I understand the problem... my documents can be formatted as borderless, but default of my printer can not. Sorry for the answer Yes to ensure response to what the printer can print without margins. I didn't know that it had to do with the settings of the printers! I thought it was just to make sure that documents accept a margin of 0 (zero)! I apologize for all the time wasted on this issue, but I am very grateful and thankful for your help!

  • PDF exported from InDesign background missing when open in Illustrator

    Hello, I have a bit of a frustrating problem.

    I'm working on the graphics for a large project, and I need to get some of my InDesign files in Illustrator (they are two CS5) for our printer.

    I would have normally designed them in Illustrator, but my graphics are in InDesign and we just found out once we started on production, it needs to HAVE and needs our trim road put in place for our irregular forms.

    For MOST documents, its fairly easy summer (export in PDF format > open in illustrator and making a cut path > save as HAVE) However, I have this file which makes me lose my mind.

    When I export to PDF, it opens perfectly and seems normal in acrobat, and I also see in the preview as well. The background appears and everything. However when I opened the PDF in illustrator it completely loses the background. I noticed this before a few graphics, but I assumed it was because they had gradients, drop shadows and transparencies and all that. This file has degraded anything weird with the exception of a background of gray.

    Help? I included a few screenshots of what is happening in the hope that you guys can help solve.

    So, we are here to register, and then open it in Acrobat to check things.

    Now, here's what happens when I open it in Illustrator:

    It seems simple enough that you could easily copy and paste shapes in Illustrator and then redefine the type within a few minutes...
