  Windows 7 handles USB devices very well.

  Please describe your problem in more detail. Tell us what means "cannot use any usb device and the mouse either. Exactly how do you try? What happens when you try? If you get an error message, please quote verbatim.

  Step 1.  Identify the make and model of the USB device.
  Step 2: Identify the version of Windows XP you have, including service pack (start > run > winver > OK)

  Although the following steps 1 & 2 you could get extra help, I suspect that the 'USB device' has indeed "defective" and you have to go back to where you got it and request a refund or a replacement.

  Do you mean that the PC does not start or is it just that the monitor does not work?

  If the PC does not start, simply, remove the hard drive, place the drive in an external enclosure usb, plug it into another pc to transfer data files. You cannot transfer programs.

  I have a weird problem with my vCenter build 6. Single cluster of ESXi hosts. Running VCSA 6.0 and 6.0 ESXI. Making a storage of the vCenter vMotion initially got stuck at 77% and the ESXi host running the disconnected from vCenter vCenter. But I can connect directly to the ESXi host with vsphere client and see the vCenter VM works perfectly well. If I try to manually connect host ESXi and vCenter, I get the error "Failed to contact the host specified") both are in the same subnet and VLAN. I can migrate to other virtual machines without problem. I even restarted the host and yet I am not able to connect to vCenter. The host connects to vCenter if I reboot vCenter, but after a few minutes, disconnects again (even if no task does run on this topic.) I have no HA or DRS enabled at this point that I build this new environment and only presented a single LUN as a store of test data to the cluster.

  Any ideas?

  OK, I think I fixed that or have at least a work around. So the underlying question was hiding ID mode/CPU EVC. I'm under the cluster to a level of EVC to reduce until I have migrate workloads from old environment and I think that this created a problem for the unit vCenter. To resolve this problem, I turned off the unit, directly connected to the ESXi host that had the camera running, edited the virtual machine and reset the masking of CPUID. Also, I've hidden the flag NX/XD of the guest. It's temporary (I hope) as once I increase the EVC to the Haswell, I will expose the NX/XD comments and test. For the moment, it is of the workaround I did. It may be of some use to someone.

  Short answer is that you can give to this.  ESXi doesn't have access to the console, without access to the consoles, that can't do.  Even with Console cannot yet be done, ESX is bare bones but single server, not Linux.

  You don't want to use your ESX Server as a device.  It's a bad habit to enter.  ESX is a VM host, simply.  Not a general-purpose, file sharing / FTP / sharing NFS GNU / Linux.

  If you think NFS, set up a Linux VM on this host, and use it.

  The ESXi host internally uses the data UUID store rather than its "friendly" name

  Example: / vmfs/volumes/3dfd1a21-63969d0d-8d9b-004328272635 /.

  The models are a unique feature of vcenter. You can try renaming the vm vmxt vmx file, this would allow to add the file as a virtual machine, not model.

  But anyway, you will not be able to use to deploy from model or the options you have for cela vcenter.

  Try to ignore this ridiculous list, it's a bad joke for devices on the external bus like SCSI and USB.

  I've successfully used the USB feature in 4.1 for a device not on the list (in fact, he was a device of type modem/serial port), more precisely a key entropy of Simtec.

  I've seen a few threads that say to activate EHCI hand off but these bios do not have this option. I tried all sorts of BIOS settings on the servers that does not work for USB devices to the list in ESXi, but nothing.

  lsusb on one that works returns keyboard and mouse, etc., the same command on the other and nothing is listed

  These servers all have the same exact bios revision and were all installed in the same installation DVD!

  What can I check in ESXi server work compared with servers don't do any work?

  We have not seen this problem with 5.1 5.5 only

  I solved this problem, for those who may have the same problems:

  I got Intel VT - D directed I/O enabled in bios, I also had 2 Configuration of hubs x USB for transmission of PCI device. I tried to disable this in ESXi, but it does neutralize not after his license. I disabled Intel VT - D directed I/O option in bios, actually forcing ESXi for free transmission devices and USB devices are now properly detected. lsusb lists now all the devices connected to the server as it should!
