Siri on MacOS Sierra calls me by name different Contact form

This problem, for me, therefore, with my installation of Siri in MacOS Sierra. He is referring to me, not by my details, but by the coordinates of my wife, which is the entry is the Contacts application above me.

I was not able to get Siri to recognize my contact card as the official user, in spite that enforcement Contacts shows my entry as being "my card". Change the default contact, even to another person, makes no difference to what see Siri.

Any idea what's going on?

ICloud log and check.

 > SysPreferences > iCloud

reactivate the icloud and check

This may be a clue what the problem

  • Two questions with Siri on macOS Sierra (voice quality and call sheet)

I am having several problems with Siri on macOS Sierra...

    (1) the voice is of poor quality. I know that when you upgrade first, you get low quality voice until he had the opportunity to download the high quality voices, but I waited a week and even re-installed Mac OS several times, and I always get low quality voice. Even if I change voice in system preferences. I have macOS Sierra installed on my Macbook w/retina, and the voice quality is infinitely superior. Apple sugarcoat it on older Mac? I don't know that my 4-core i7 is well able to use the voice of the highest quality.

    (2) when I ask him to show my business address, or ask who my brother or finance is, she is confused, as if he can't read my card contact properly. The exact same contact card works fine on iOS 10. I tried turning off the Contacts in iCloud parameters and reactivated so he would be re - download, but it continues to provide partial information of the card. For example, for addresses, they go up like OTHER and display only the city and State, even though I have a full home address listed. I disconnected and connected as my fiancee, and his works fine.

    Thank you

Just a quick update - after deleting my contacts, reassignment to a new contact using "Make my contact" (which seems buggy btw - seems not stick) reinstall macOS Sierra twice, disabling iCloud, tilting and contacted him and Siri, etc. etc., it turns out that he was using a contact to my account (?) card, even if I didn't 'Calendar' selected in my Google account. I removed Google in my list of Internet accounts in Preferences system (along with a few others), and now it's using the new map that I created in iCloud. It's weird that it would give priority to my Google account on my iCloud account so much, especially since I have not yet activated contacts?

Still need to understand why the high quality voices will not download.

  • Bad birthday with siri in macOS Sierra

When you use Siri one my Imac (with macOS Sierra) and ask for a birthday, the answer is always the day before, as it should. Ask anyone "xy" with a birthday in contacts in the 24. in June he replys 23. from June.

I use the Sierra macOS German language pack and I am located in Europe it's maybe one

    temporal server problem?

PS: ask siri on iphone I have the correct answer...

Same problem here on a Dutch system, see: anniversary of Siri a day off

  • Siri on MacOS Sierra

How come my Imac 27 "2010 Siri is slow to when it is activated (press)? Because of the low RAM?

Since you don't mention how the RAM you have or how much is used, it is difficult to say.

  • Apple dropped support of Windows 8 in macOS Sierra?

So I upgraded my MacBook to macOS Sierra and I noticed something different in the BootCamp Assistant.

As the official macOS page Sierra said, the new BootCamp installations require Windows 8 and 10.

But when I opened the BootCamp Assistant, he made only 10 Windows or USB later.

So what is the significance of this? Fall of Apple already supported for Windows 8?

W8.1 must always be supported. If you point to W8.1 ISO, you get error messages?

  • Siri launches applications under macOS Sierra

I just updated my mac to macOS Sierra. When I activated and opened Siri, however, it does not seem to recognize every command that I gave him. Currently, it is impossible to find one of the applications that are on my computer. When I say something like "Safari open" or "Open Messages", she said something in the sense of: 'I wasn't able to find an application called 'Safari' on your computer. You can try to search for the App Store. »

What should I do to fix this?

    Hello...

Try to speak a little more slowly and clearly. You have to practice a little but I got it working. Make sure that there is no background noise such as a TV or stereo.

'Open Safari' works for me ok.

  • Is Siri macos sierra - final list of control system that siri understands?

I've seen excerpts of suggest some system settings that Siri can control, for example "switch off bluetooth", what is optimal, but "turn off the bluetooth mouse" would be more useful batteries changing as the former makes my imac (with mouse and wireless keyboard) totally unusable and unrecoverable without turning off or dig this long-lost old Dell USB keyboard TAPI at the bottom of the Cabinet.

FWIW if you try siri "switch off the bluetooth mouse" just does not take into account the part of the mouse and disables it all!

Then, I browsed the net to get a list of orders for the system or settings that siri understands and found the same things, 4 or 5, re-stuck again and again.

I tried to ask Siri what settings it could change and says "Bluetooth is already lit" doh?

Beats me why and maybe there isn't and I found it simply not, apple have not documented it better - all I could find was this macOS Sierra: ask Siri

So has anyone seen a better resource for whats possible?

    Hello, Jessica,.

    Go to this website: https://hey-siri.io

Then got to settings > macOS Sierra to see the commands of the Sierra

  • Siri does not start under macOS Sierra

I've recently updated to macOS Sierra (public version) and everything seems fine, except for allowing to Siri. I tried to enable the system preferences as well as execution of the Siri application in the application. I even tried to 'facilitation' by selecting in the menu bar.

In any case it does not start. Upon activation in system preferences, I get "There was an error in the preferences of Siri." and it takes back me to the main view of system preferences.

Y at - he of the log files that I should be reviewed to determine the cause of this problem?

    Thank you

  • How do we install siri on a mac mini with macOS Sierra?

I have a 2011 mac mini with macOS Sierra installed environment. I know that the mini doesn't have a microphone installed. How do I set up my mini so I use siri? I noticed that when I installed Sierra on my MBP mid-2012, it asked if I wanted to install siri as part of the installation. I selected Yes. It happened when I installed it on my mini, I'm guessing that because there is no microphone on the mini. Thanks in advance.

You are right. You are prompted to configure Siri during installation only if the computer has a microphone.

Later, after you add a microphone go to System Preferences > Siri and turn on Siri

  • Siri is disabled by the Parental control on macOS Sierra admin account

I just installed macOS Sierra today on my 13 "Mac Book Pro (early 2011). I have only one user account that is an administrator account. Siri is not enabled on my machine. When I go to the Siri system preferences screen, it says that "Siri is disabled by Parental control. Hmmm, when I check the Parental control screen, it says "you logged in using an administrator account." You can only apply parental controls to accounts that are not administrator accounts. »

    What happens here?

Same problem here. Updated for Sierra of El Capitan on MacBookPro 15 "(mid - 2014).

Even if I toggle the checkbox on the Parental control > others > disable Siri & dictation I can't activate Siri, the checkox is always gray and the alert says "Siri is disabled by Parental control.

Siri is enabled if I login as a burst, but I need it on my Admin account of course. Very annoying.

  • macOS Sierra upgrade questions

Problems of bad battery life updated since El Capitan with macOS Sierra. "100% charged drains battery fast on Sierra for 2-3 hours only. Before the mac update OS Sierra, he could stay for 8-9 hours,". If we installed macOS Sierra and noticed that the battery life is empty very quickly on MacBook Air/Pro, iMac etc, please help me to solve the problem of this problems.

    Hey there,

Nothing but hurt. It is a common problem in the Sierra. One of the reasons, you must take off the coast about obtaining the latest software. It can be a bit much. If I remember correctly, they do not have the issues of EL CAP battery until le.3 ou.4 updated. (this is the solution that allowed the 8-9) I would recommend just downgrading to El Cap, as I can't imagine that the loss in the life of the battery is useful for siri.   Just my 2 cents.

  • macOS Sierra downloaded but no prompt to install it.

Was able to download macOS Sierra, but do not have a prompt to install it.  Mac App Store says it is downloaded, but nothing more.  Ideas?

The installation program is added to the applications folder you, look in the and run the installer. From memory I think it is called something like "Install mac os Sierra", once installed it will delete itself.

  • I downloaded macOS Sierra, now how to install it?

It sounds ridiculous, I know.  But I downloaded Sierra (indicate directly on the page in the Apple Mac store: a says "downloaded" button). But by clicking on this button does nothing and there are no other obvious way to install now Sierra.  What Miss me?

He should have started on its own, but since it does not, it will be an app in your Applications folder called "install macOS Sierra".

  • macOS Sierra - calendar Agent Crash

I installed macOS Sierra on my MBP 8.3 (17 "end 2011) - 16 GB of RAM. 1 TB SSD.

After you have identified a problem with a Logitech mouse driver (and delete) I stopped for a few days to attend to other things.

Restart today, I had a few problems:

    1. the backlight of the screen did not come until after I entered the word password (took a few reboots hard to understand what was going on.  Once I entered the password, backlight restarted and has been authorized since, even after stop and restart.  Weird!

    2. the problem that won't go away, it's with the agent of the calendar.  He has appeared as a couple of notifications - a single event, reminder of a task.  I rejected the two of them, but they came back several times.  The console log shows the following:

I'm having a similar error - first Mail crashes with the error below and calendar hangs with a similar error.  Details below.  Everything was fine until I updated to Sierra (clean install, not upgrade).

  • MacBook Pro crashed after update to macOS Sierra

After I tried to update my MacBook Pro for macOS Sierra, this screen came:

In case you can't read it, it says "apple.com/support-1007F'.

After restart my MacBook Pro, he asked for my Wi - Fi connection information, so I typed in it and it showed a loading bar. Then came to this screen:

I didn't know which option to choose, what is called Apple Care to help make a choice. They said to choose 'Reinstall OS X' so I did. Then my screen says something like "click and drag to the browser that you want to download in" but nothing has popped up.

I don't know what is happening with my computer. Hard drive failure? This update was not the largest update so I don't know why all this is happening.

If you have any ideas or solutions, please respond! That would be incredible!

    Thank you guys!

It seems that your Mac can not find the system disk. It seems that the drive has failed and your Mac is now in recovery mode.
