Site to Site VPN remote connectivity

Hello

I currently have an Ipsec policy set up on a succesfully ASA 5510 and remote users to connect and access to internal resources at Headquarters.  I have a connection VPN from Site to Site of a branch in a 5505 on the same outside the interface that remote VPN users.  The issue I'm having is when a remote VPN user tries to access the shared drive in the branch that the TCP connection cannot be established.  I've seen this problem before with the ASA is not able to complete the TCP connection because the source and destination come and go from the same interface.  I tried to connect to the Site to Site on a different interface of ASA, but the error than subnet masks can not be the same.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • only one statement of site-to-site VPN remote network?

    Hello

I wonder on in case of site to site vpn, we can define only a single declaration of network for the Branch Office peer network?

If there is a local network to peer site, then, how to set those for the local subnet peer?

    Can anyone answer my question?

    Thank you.

If I understand your question, wondering how to add a different subnet to an existing site-to-site VPN tunnel?

If that is correct, you can add this network to the crypto ACL of the tunnel at a site.  But you have to demolish and rebuild the tunnel before it takes effect.

Once you have added the required configuration, run the following commands to shoot down the tunnel.  Do not forget that this disconnects all users on the VPN, so it is best to let users know when you go to so that they are not connected at this time here.

  • You try to run a Site to site VPN and remote VPN from the same IP remotely

We currently have a site to site VPN configuration between our offices call center and a 3rd party that allows them to access our training to their employees to use environment while being trained on our systems. This tunnel is running between our ASA and their ASA without problem; However, when we have managers come out to the call center, they are unable to use remote VPN to access our office.

Apparently the same IP peer remote that we use for our site to the other tunnel is the same IP that our managers use to access the internet when they are on-site with the customer. When I look at the logs it shows the VPN attempt and then I get treatment Information Exchange has failed. So from what I can understand when our managers are trying to connect to our firewall from the same IP address as the counterpart of site to site it automatically tries to create a tunnel, according to the information of the site to the other tunnel. If our managers are anywhere else, they can connect through remote VPN with no problems.

My question is if anyone knows of a way to make the firewall allow VPN site to site and remote connections with the same remote IP address.

    Hi John,.

Basically, in older versions, when you hit a static encryption card and you does not match this static encryption completely map the connection continues until the dynamic encryption card. For this reason, you can connect your IPSec clients before. A bug has been opened on this vulnerability.

    CSCuc75090  Details of bug

The crypto IPSec Security Association are created by dynamic crypto map to static peers

    Symptom:

When a static VPN peer adds all traffic to the ACL crypto, a surveillance society is based even if the pair IP is not allowed in the acl to the main façade encryption. Are these SA finally put in correspondence and commissioning the dynamic crypto map instance.

    Conditions:

It was a planned design since the first day that allowed customers to fall through in the case of static crypto map did not provide a necessary cryptographic services.

The SA must be made from a peer configured statically and a dynamic crypto map instance must be configured on the receiving end.

    Workaround solution:

    N/A

    Some possible workarounds are:

Configure a static nat device when you try to use the remote VPN if the firewall remotely will be hit with a different public IP address. It would be a good solution, but it will depend on how many ip addresses public you have available, if you really want one of these ip addresses for that access.

Also, I thought you could use AnyConnect instead of the IPSec VPN client. I don't know how many users need to connect from your PC to the remote site, but the ASA has 2 licenses SSL available that you could use. Because Anyconnect uses the SSL protocol, it won't have a problem on your environment.

    Below some information:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/security/ASA/asa84/configuration/guide/asa_84_cli_config/vpn_anyconnect.html

    Hope this helps,

    Luis.

  • Improve SA540 site to site VPN perforamce

We do server on Site A and alos configuration port front of WAN custome application server.

I find the Site B use direct http services over the Wan just need 5-10 seconds to launch the applaciton

On the same machine, we use the site to site VPN to connect to the application, that it will take about 15 ~ 20 seconds or more, alos sometimes cannot load success via VPN enforcement, how can I improve it? Or participate in any suggestion that I have to pay?

    Thank you

Hi yururuhgftdy, your vpn is only as good as the slowest connections. If you want to improve performance, update the connection from the other end.

  • Number of site to site VPN

I have vpn site-to-site on firewall Cyberoam (outside), remote VPN access created the (inside) Firewall ASA.

the question that I cannot access site to Site Vpn remote access VPN subnet

    See attached drawing

A likely reason is that you are missing just the following command on the ASA:

     same-security-traffic permit intra-interface

Or you might miss a NAT exemption from outside to outside.

    Hello

When the IPSEC tunnel does not come to the top, the first thing comes to my mind is to run a tracer of package from the CLI and the phases in it. Please run this command from your firewall side and share the output. I've just compiled this command with the random ip address and ports of your given range.

  • Remote access to the site to site VPN

We currently have a VPN site-to-site set up on a direct line between our two data centers. Hosts on site one can speak to guests at site B, and talk to the hosts to site A to site B guests.

I've recently implemented a site A. VPN VPN remote access clients can access all of the resources behind the ASA at A site without problem. However, strange things happen when they try to contact the site B.

I have set up corresponding exemptions of NAT on each side of the connection. The remote site reported no abnormalities. When you attempt to connect to a remote VPN client to site B, the only errors that appear are on the SAA to site A. When a remote client attempts to connect to a host at site B, the following errors appear in the log:

% ASA-3-305005: no group of translation not found for tcp src outside:10.3.0.1/60851 dst ds3:10.0.1.42/22

I have the exemption following NAT set up on site A:

    access-list sheep; 3 items

    access-list 1 permit line sheep extended ip 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 (hitcnt = 0)

    allowed to Access-list sheep lengthened 2 ip line 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.3.0.0 255.255.255.0 (hitcnt = 0)

    allowed to Access-list sheep line 3 extended ip 10.3.0.0 255.255.255.0 10.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 (hitcnt = 0)

I work on it for a few days now and hesitate to open a ticket of TAC. I've seen a few similar questions on the forums, but have found zero with a working solution. I tried to follow the technical notes on Cisco's Web site for a configuration similar to, but had no luck.

Also, I enabled same-security-traffic on intra and inter-interface interface.

    Any help would be appreciated.

HUB of the ASA, is this your topology? If so try below suggestions.

    Inside 10.1.1.0/16 Net

    Net 172.16.0.0/28 - net through Tunnel L2L 10.0.0.0/16 end DS3

    VPN RA Net 10.3.0.0/24

To RA to access the L2L tunnel end hosting you will need to exempt sheep rule applied to the ds3 interface.

    based on the journal

% ASA-3-305005: no group of translation not found for tcp src outside:10.3.0.1/60851 dst ds3:10.0.1.42/22

    Try this

no scope list ip 10.3.0.0 access test allow 255.255.255.0 10.0.0.0 255.255.0.0

test the ip 10.0.0.0 allowed extended access list 255.255.0.0 10.3.0.0 255.255.255.0

test access list 0 Tan (ds3)

on the end of the tunnel (spoke), to allow the network of RA from the FOCUS of the ASA in the interesting traffic.

    Concerning

  • connect dynamic auto of site to site VPN

Hi all, I need to configure a site to site vpn (cisco asa and router), but the connection to the remote router must be set to auto.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you

All have two IP addresses static or is on a dynamic ip?

Please clarify what you mean by "auto".

  • A Site to remote access VPN behind the same public IP address

Got a problem quite stupid.  We have a VPN from Site to Site configured for a new data center, which will be responsible for general traffic management.  In addition, some users need to use use a VPN client to access certain areas.  The firewall at the Office only has a public IP address, so the two will come to the Site to Site VPN for remote access from the same source.

This seems a problem with legacy Cisco VPN clients because encryption card matches the entry VPN site-to-site, even if they use VPN clients.  A good/simple solution to solve this problem?

Some newspapers (198.18.85.23) is the address public IP for the office and the tom.jones is the user.  192.168.1.0/24 is the pool of the VPN client.

    Hello

Don't know if this will work, but you can try the following configuration (with the rest of the VPN configuration)

list-access CLIENT VPN ip enable any 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0

card crypto OUTSIDE_map 4 is the VPN CLIENT address

    card crypto OUTSIDE_map 4 set peer 198.18.85.23

    card crypto OUTSIDE_map 4 set ikev1 transform-set ESP-AES-128-SHA ESP-3DES-SHA

The idea would be to have the ACL matches the VPN full Tunnel that the Client attempts to establish. (destination "any" from the point of view of the customer, the ASAs view source)

I tested briefly on my own SAA by connecting from an IP address to which the ASA offers free VPN in L2L. But as I don't have the operational L2L VPN, I can't really verify the VPN L2L at the moment. Thus, certain risks may be involved if you can afford it.

  • Access even if remote site 2 site VPN

    Hello

I'm under VPN between two sites using 2 ASA 5505.

Also, I want that RA - VPN which is accommodated in the two ASA.

My need is to remove one of access VPN - RA and keep only one, but must be able to reach the second site.

I did a split with two LANs tunnel. But I still not able to get the directions in my computer when I connect to the RA - VPN.

    Is this possible? And how?

A few things that should be configured to access remote access vpn remote vpn site to site LAN:

    (1) on cryptography from site to site tunnel ACL, it must include the subnet remote vpn client ip pool as follows:

On the SAA ending the vpn client: ip allow

On the ASA distance that ends the tunnel from site to site: ip allow

    (2) on the SAA ending the vpn client: same-security-traffic permit intra interface

    (3) on the ASA distance that ends the tunnel from site to site: NAT ACL exemption must include the Remote LAN traffic to the subnet IP Pool.

In addition, ACL split tunnel which includes two subnets which I believe you already configured.

    Hope that helps.

  • Help with 1921 SRI Easy VPN remote w / Easy VPN Site-to-Site access

I have two 1921 ISR routers configured with easy site to site VPN.  I configured VPN each ISR ACL so that all networks on each site can communicate with the private networks of the other site.   I have a 1921 SRI also configured as an easy VPN server.

Problem: when a remote user connects to the easy VPN server, the user can only access private networks on the site of the VPN server.  I added the IP network that is used for remote users (i.e. the Easy VPN Server IP pool) to each VPN ACL 1921, but the remote user still cannot access other sites private network via the VPN site to another and vice versa.

Problem: I also have a problem with the easy VPN server, do not place a static host route in its routing table when he established a remote connection to the remote user and provides the remote user with an IP address of the VPN server's IP pool.  The VPN server does not perform this task the first time the user connects.  If the user disconnects and reconnects the router VPN Server does not have the static host route in its routing table for the new IP address given on the later connection.

    Any help is appreciated.

    THX,

    Greg

    Hello Greg,.

The ASAs require the "same-security-traffic intra-interface permits" to allow through traffic but routers allow traversed by default (is there no need for equivalent command).

Therefore, VPN clients can access A LAN but can't access the Remote LAN B on the Site to Site.

You have added the pool of the VPN client to the ACL for the interesting site to Site traffic.

You must also add the Remote LAN B to the ACL of tunneling split for VPN clients (assuming you are using split tunneling).

In other words, the VPN router configuration has for customers VPN should allow remote control B LAN in the traffic that is allowed for the VPN clients.

You can check the above and do the following test:

    1. try to connect to the remote VPN the B. LAN client

    2. check the "sh cry ips his" for the connection of the VPN client and check if there is a surveillance society being built between the pool and Remote LAN B.

    Federico.

  • Connectivity between two site to site VPN

I have two remote sites that each connect to our main office using a site to site VPN. Remote offices have 831 routers. The main office has a PIX 515.

A remote office is 192.168.15.X and the other is 192.168.100.X. The main office is on a 10.X.X.X network.

Each remote office can contact the office with no problems. However, they cannot communicate with each other at all and I need this to work. I just want to be able to access the network 192.168.100.X network 192.168.15.X through the VPN tunnel that is already set up between each remote desktop.

I tried to add the other network to the ACL for the tunnel, but that did not work. I feel I'm missing something simple.

For example, the following ACL initially.

    Note access-list 103 IPSec rule

    access-list 103 allow ip 192.168.15.0 0.0.0.255 10.0.0.0 0.255.255.255

I added this line to this LIST.

    access-list 103 allow ip 192.168.15.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.100.0 0.0.0.255

    But that did not help.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

What code are you running on the Pix. Talk to talk IPSEC connectivity is supported only in version 7.0 and higher.

    Enhanced support has spoke-to-Spoke VPN

Version 7.0 (1) improving support communications a spoke-to-spoke (customer-to-customer) VPN, providing the ability to traffic to enter and exit the same interface. In addition, remote access to splitting tunnel connections can be completed on the external interface of the security apparatus, enabling traffic destined to the Internet for remote user VPN tunnels to leave on the same interface as it happened (after that the firewall rules have been applied).

The same-security-traffic command permits traffic to enter and exit the same interface when it is used with the keyword a spoke-to-spoke VPN using intra-interface. For more information, see the section "Allows Intra-Interface traffic" in the in the command line Configuration Guide Cisco Security Appliance.
