Size of icons, application and splash screen

Hi all, I wanted to ask you, what is the best icon size and the size of the screen splash for blackberry webwork?

That's all, so thank you :-)

If you wanted to say with the word 'size' is resolution.
icon: 64 x 64px
for the splash screen: depends on the screen resolution of devices.

  • Record: difference of Application and the screen area?

    Beginner questions:

    1. What is the difference between registration and Application screen area?

    2. with the selected Application, what is the difference between the Application and the area of Application window?

    Thank you.

    Hi winnn123,

    Check with application means you want to record actions on a PARTICULAR application. In addition, the recording rectangle could yield to the request to be registered. Three options are available:

    -Size: This means that the application window (to save on) will resize according to the selected dimension.

    -Window application: the recording rectangle will resize according to the dimension of the chosen application (to save on).

    -Area application: an application window is composed of many frameworks/component/regions. Select this option if you want to save a specific framework/component/area of the selected application.

    Screen area:

    This positions blindly the rectangle (of size selected) registration on the screen independently open applications.

    Hope that answers your questions...

    I'm stuck on this step and the next button is simply irrelevant. Could use comments as to why? Must folio files be on the local computer, the App Builder works from? I had created at home, doing the application to work. At the launch of the DPS of inDesign buidler and choosing create app from buidler folio Panel, he said that he read the articles okay so I thought just on Adobe server. Other than that, I don't see why he is stuck on this step. Thanks for any help!

  • reduce the size of icon, window and fonts after running system restore

    After running, all system restore my widows, fonts, and icons are way too big to fit on my screen. How can I reduce their normal size?

    Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

    Then:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution

    Change the screen resolution

    Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

  • Size screenshots of application and the resolution for presentation

    What should be the size and resolution of the screenshots of the application to submit on BB App World?

    They can be any size.  But since you would probably take them to simulators, I guess they will be in the dimensions of the blackberry model you support.  For example, if your phone works on the storm or the new 8900 Curve, it will be 480 x 360, if it works on the "BOLD", it will be 480 x 320, old curves, 320 x 240, etc..  If your application works with more than one model, simply choose the best resolution.

  • App installs on Z10 when the icon & Splash Screen images are added to the handle Bar

    HI - don't know if it's an unusual question, but my app not install/load on my Z10 when one or both of the pictures icon and Splash Screen are added in the descriptor of Bar.  I development mode and have an installed debugging token and it is still valid.  The strange thing is that the application will be installed on the Simulator without problem.

    If I remove the splash screen images & icon in the Bar descriptor file, the application load on my Z10 with success.

    The images are the right size: 114 x 114 px for the icon and 768 x 1280 px for the SplashScreen.  The Momentics IDE accepts two files by activating beside them.  I also tried to add the images to the Q10 & PlayBook and still no luck with this loading on my device.  I even tried to go back to the image by default for the icon, and who does more either.

    The error I get when trying to install my application on my Z10 with icon images & Splash Screen is:

    Failure of deployment: Info: request shipment: install and launch
    Info: Action: install and launch
    News: Native debugging: on

    Someone has any ideas why this happens?

    Thank you.

  • Size of the application icon... Home screen will not use the right one. Help!

    I thought I could include different sizes of icons (ie. 48 x 48, 32 x 32, etc.) and the camera choose the size of the device or the theme-appropriate application icons. Of course, this isn't the case. So, how do you get the device to use the right size for the theme icon?

    For example, I have a Verizon 8330 (curve) and the theme of Verizon uses sizes 48 x 48 icons. If I use a size of 48 x 48 icon to my app, it looks great. However, if I change the theme of one of the standard BB Dimension themes, it will be small scale my icon 48 x 48, 32 x 32, which seems quite bad. Why does not he chooses the icon size 32 x 32 I understand? How can I provide both sizes and have it use the correct size according to the theme? It looks even worse when I use 32 x 32 and he then it extends to 48 x 48. Help!

    You'll have to do it by programming it your application startup.  You can use the following code to get the width and height of the icon:

    int height = net.rim.blackberry.api.homescreen.HomeScreen.getPreferredIconHeight();
    int width = net.rim.blackberry.api.homescreen.HomeScreen.getPreferredIconWidth();

    Then set the using the appropriate icon:

    net.rim.blackberry.api.homescreen.HomeScreen.updateIcon( icon );
