  • STATIC LEGENDS: ALIGNMENT / SIZE OF TEXT BLOCK

    I've never used before static legends, and I have two questions:

    1. when I create a legend it automatically creates a block of text which is about 4 times larger than necessary

    2. the paragraph Style is set to Center justify, but legends align the image.

    Is there some setting I am missing?

    May be that the two images are selected in the layers panel? This legend is just an image?

    We can set the auto sizing preference:

    app.preferences.setBooleanPreference("text/autoSizing",
      !app.preferences.getBooleanPreference("text/autoSizing"));

    You must run the script before adding tetFrames.

  • Maintain the spacing between multiple auto size of text fields - w/screencapture

    I make a list of a column of classes that have different lengths of title and description. All fields are resized automatically, and set the minimum height of a line of text, formatted in the correct font. Is there a way for these fields to show flexibility while maintaining the spacing between them?

    Hi Sno-Isle,

    This can be done, if you really need.

    For InDesign CS6 and especially the trick are:

    1. you need a space framed at the bottom of your text block, which gives you the distance to the text in the following image.

    2. you have to stack all text blocks in a "column and align them to the top of the column

    3. on each block of text has a text wrapping

    Here is a screenshot of my inDesign German 2014.2 CC:

    Open the layers panel to change the stacking order of your text frames.

  • How the auto repeat 'position title (continued)' in the text block

    Hi guys,.

    I've looked everywhere and couldn't find it.

    Here's what I'm trying to achieve:

    I have a few blocks long text which flows into a framework of text block and I would like to have the title for each of the items be repeated first of all in the first line of the block of text on each page as follows (suite).

    I know that I can use master pages and can have a separated with my title text box. But then, if the number of page change, I can end up with a title (continued) where shouldn't.

    The next and previous page number line break does not work for me, because I need it to be the title of the article and it must be in the same frame of definition as title x.

    It's somewhat similar occurs when your table across more than one page. The header is repeated on each image.

    I really tried to find it but no luck. Whenever I have tryied the anwes only I got was to line breaks, next and previous page number.

    Much appreciated if anyone can save me.

    Thank you

    I think that we know exactly what you're trying to do, and we told you how to do it in code.

    Word has a few features that allow you to have different headers and footers for section home pages and use them automatically when you set up a new section. This is equivalent to using two masters in ID and one without the variable grant your section start pages. The difference is that you have to do that yourself.

  • How to bind the text blocks between pages?

    Hello

    I searched all autour for this, and I'm guessing that the answer could be so simple that no tutorial it doesn't even mention:

    How can I link the blocks of text between pages? I made a block of text in each master page and then connected one left with the one on the right. Indeed, all of the text in the document is linked from the page on the left of the right-hand page. But how do I link the page on the right with the following two pages 'below' in the document?

    If I'm not clear, here is another attempt to explain: I'm going to insert a lot of text in a document, and I already know the size and the type of text block, I want the text inserted. When I put the text in the left side, it connects (goes on) the block of text on the right side. But it stops there. So I have to manaully through both pages, which connects the right page "at the top" with the left 'below', page by clicking on the image by clicking on the small arrow in the lower right corner, and clicking on the next page below. There must be a way to organize it in master pages or in some other way?

    Thanks in advance for helping me with this problem of small size, but huge!

    Best

    Kim

    Two things...

    For "automatic formatting" to work with Captain linked frames page, you must NOT release the Master frame before placing the text, and you must click inside the image area, not any sort of guide.

  • text block, no packaging, moving up like browser width decreases

    Hello

    I have a block of text in one of my breakpoints, that, when I adjust my browser window to check collisions, etc., he dresses not and moves upward into my position.  on all other breakpoints, wrapped as it should, and other blocks of text on the BP even behave as they should. I even tried to delete the offender and copy of text blocks in the operation, but he always does.  Any thoughts?

    06:00 here...

    delete the image under the text

    Insert a slider widget to empty library instead of the drop down menu on the right

    remove the arrows, next, previous etc just make a single 'keeper' for the image and add images in the widget

    size on page etc as the original image. Make sure that you use the layers panel to organize the slider under the text.

    which toured... I can send you your original with the change file if you are having trouble... nice site by the way.

  • Problem with the text block, put in place when it is used on the page number marker

    Hello!

    I would use the text block on the marker page number on the master page in Indesign. The text block should change width when increases the page number. It does not work. What happens is that when the number of page moves a two-digit figure, the numbers tightened itself (compressed on top of each other) and the block of text changes size unless I drag on it (which means I have to manually unlock the master page first).

    I'm doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

    Thank you!

    Altogether! So, you can use a rule of Pará to simply do it!

  • Eratic behavior: book, the main text blocks and Cross References

    I'm on InDesign 2014.2. Mac.

    I'm working on a fairly large book. About 14 chapters / sections, about 400 total pages. There are also hundreds of cross references, almost all of them to anchor references.

    The design of the book is as simple as possible. There is no graphics, text blocks only.

    I use a single master page, with facing pages, and a block of text type. I used it throughout the production of the book, and the primary text flow worked well, chapter after chapter. Pages have been created automatically, and automatically flowed text.

    Maybe I need to change the page size of the book, and I also have a lot of editing to do which will reduce a lot of the chapters. I wanted to make sure all pages use the main text flow to do that, go as gently as possible.

    To my dismay, I discovered that although I used systematically throughout the book master text streams, all but three of my chapters have inexplicably lost their text stream. All images in these chapters have converted into ordinary images. That I edit the book, it's playing havoc with paging and referrals.

    I tried to restore the flow of text in one of the first chapters. It's easy to do, in theory.

    • Move the first page off to the side frame
    • Delete all pages except the first page
    • Command-shift-click on the first page to restore the flow of the main text
    • Copy and paste the contents of the old frame into the primary stream restored.

    When I do, the pages to move properly, and I'm back to having a chapter with a block of primary text on each page. Unfortunately, this breaks all cross-references that refer to this newly reorganized chapter and all references to the front in this chapter.

    I tried to do all that I could imagine. Only remove the frames and not pages. Try without the busy book. Nothing works. I tried the command update cross-references in the book menu. Has nothing.

    It seems impossible to redistribute the text in a new primary master framework, without completely breaking the cross references.

    I finally found something that seems to work:

    • Create a new master page at the end of the document.
    • Go to the last page of the history of the chapter and the last history image a link to the text block type on the page that you just created.
    • In the pages palette, delete all pages in the document, with the exception of the master page that you created.

    All text will be redistributed within the frameworks of masters, and cross-references (to and from the frame) seem to be intact.

  • Resize the text without scale text block

    Hi people,

    Is it possible to resize a text frame without scaling the text in the 2014 AI CC SDK?

    I'm working on an AI CC 2014 plug-in and need to resize a text frame without scaling of the text. However, I'm not having a bit of luck to find how to do this. Is what I want to resize the text block in the Type area Options Panel makes, but I'm not able to understand how what classes/methods it uses, or whether they are still exposed in the SDK of.

    I tried to use sAITransformArt->TransformArt(), but I can't find a way to stop the text to scale with the text block. I considered, after processing, reformat the text which has been nationally, but that doesn't seem right.

    My current thinking is to move the text of the framework which should be scaling in a new block of text size correctly, and then delete the existing framework, but before that, I thought I would ask here see if do I it's harder it must be because I'm missing something.

    Thanks in advance for any help!

    See you soon!

    -Jim Birkenseer

    You must use sAITransform-> (TransformArt) on the subject of track of the image of the text, not the entire text block.

    For example:

    AITextFrameType textFrameType;
    sAITextFrame->GetType( art, &textFrameType );
    if ( ( textFrameType == kInPathTextType ) || ( textFrameType == kOnPathTextType ) ) {
        sAITextFrame->GetPathObject( art, &art );
        AIRealMatrix sMatrix;
         // Set your matrix as needed here...
        sAITransformArt->TransformArt( art, &sMatrix, 1.0f, kTransformObjects );
    }

  • Paragraph text block position

    I have a paragraph object returned by a search. I want to know is when it appears in the text block. I did only need to know if it appears at the beginning of the page. The pages will still be in a uniform position, but could be pages either right-handed or left-handed.

    From what I see, I could use basis, as this will tell me that the Y axis, but that would change if I changed the size of police/leader in the future. As it is 2 columns, either, I could also get a false positive on the baseline way if my paragraph appears at the beginning of the second column.

    Anyone have any suggestions on how to prove if a paragraph at the beginning of a page?

    I don't know if it's the best way, but I solved my problem now. I used the text parent block, found the first paragraph, then against the content.

    If (paragraphToCompare == myTextFrame.Paragraphs.firstItem ())

    {

    ...

    }

    on the other

    {

    ...

  • 389 pages. Text blocks too far to the left, but...

    But I use different teachers for different parts of the book and some blocks of text have been made, longer and shorter, so bottom of page will be same.

    Photos, too, are not centered.

    So, do put everything by a page-by-page and push the text (and photo frames) to the right, or...

    Help, please? Thank you.

    You don't need to change the size of the page.

    How the works of adjustment of layout is that sanpped bjcts guides will remain broken guides when you change the position of the guide. This means that if available adjusts lying is initially disabled and reset you the margins on your masters to match pages where the blocks of text are now, you can then allow the adjustment of the layout and margins for new values of resting and text blocks, for her are aligned old margin guides , will be moving and even change the size if necessary to stay magnetized to the new locations of margin guide.

  • Master Page does not work for the text block

    What I am doing wrong?

    I create a master page.

    It's a given size, 6 X 9

    It has a margin.

    It has a text box with a heading for chapter headings.

    So far so good.

    At least I have substitute her in the following pages, it seems fine.

    However.

    I want a footer (for page numbers) so that I place a footer on the bottom.  Let's say it's an inch of height.  Right now it has nothing in it.

    I want a block of text that falls between the header and the footer, so I can run inside without having it encroach on header or footer.

    The header seems protected.  But.

    No matter how much I try and do all that I do, "foot" does not appear on the following pages.  Nor does the text box.  The header area is "taken", but the rest of the page is at stake.  Not "foot".

    Help, please.  It's driving me crazy.

    Thank you.

    Thanks, Willi.  I thought about it.  Sometimes I'm so tired of banging my fool head against a wall.  I wanted to have coherent text blocks in my pages.  I didn't think I didn't NEED them.  The footer has appeared in the following pages as soon as I put SOMETHING in the chassis.  A variable.  When it is empty, the space is considered as unoccupied.  Duhhhh.  Time to go to sleep!

  • Table header row gets cut off from view when the text block is resized

    I'm designing a table that has a header row, 6 body rows and 5 columns. I want the header skewed to 20º and rotation type of needles from the same angle. Knows someone who worked with tables, it is not possible to rotate the text to this value via the parameters of the cell, but the job is to split the table into two blocks of text. The lower sash will be the body lines, but the Executive must have the header where it gets skewed to the specified angle. The text must be created in separate and then cut and paste frames in each column header and then it can be rotated.

    The problem I have is when I try to drag the bottom of the text block to the top while the header remains visible, the header gets cropped view. The only way to prevent it from is Cup is I leave the first line in the frame, but then it gets skewed is not what I want. It seems that the block of text ignores the header still exists. The screenshot below has two tables. The top version is the one that I want to apply the effect to. The bottom has the effect, but his top line is a line of body (not a header).

    Table_2.jpg

    I don't think that it is possible to have a heading row without at least a body line in the framework...
