  I am trying to run Skype 4.2 for windows from the http://www.skype.com/intl/en/get-skype/on-your-computer/windows/site. However, when I try to save or install directly 21.9 MB after disabled my norton 360, 21.9 download is interrupted or was told that the application is not supported on win32.   I suggest you try to install it in clean boot and check.

  Also, make sure that you have the minimum requirements mentioned in the below:

  To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  Follow the steps below:

  2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
  3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)
  4. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
  5. click OK and then click on restart.

  I tried to update iTunes for Windows, and then uninstall it and then install again iTunes and iCloud for Windows, but I can't do any. I'm mainly getting the security file error when I try both uninstall and reinstall. Works fine on my laptop, but not in my office. I've recently updated to version 10 of Windows Home 1607, build 144393.222 - don't know if that has anything to do with the problem.

  Did you reboot safe mode and tried the facility from here or maybe even repair?
