  Well, I was in the middle of a Skype call on my desktop (Windows 7, 64-bit, Skype Version 7.something) when I noticed that my IM cats were is no longer updated, but they have been updated on mobile.   I suspect it's quite without Microsofts. See, normally I would see this as something wrong with my computer (although all other programs operating properly, and this computer is new), however, it seems that Microsoft will their best to annoy me tonight. It is not enough to convince me of a conspiracy, however, or Chrome, or Internet Explorer will allow me even to log into the site and none of them have no addons or anything.   Managed to solve the problem. Had to go and delete every file in Skype, including records.

  When you edit a message, Skype is not updateing with the corrected version of the message. It was happing in the previous and updated versions to current day. Few people in my organization have reported this as well. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

  This is a known bug in the latest version of Skype 7.17. You can uninstall this version and install the older version of Skype 7.16.0.102 using this Setup program:

  Try to uninstall the currently installed version and install the 6.1.0.129 old version using this msi installer:

• Skype does not open on my desk, producing no error report.

  I am at a loss. I've been able to use Skype without problem for years, but from last week, I noticed that Skype does not open on my desk.

  When I start it, there is no GUI that displays, but the notification area of the task bar Gets the green icon of hollow, but no application launched on my Dowes. When I move my mouse over the icon that appears in the Notification area, it just closes.
  I've confirmed that Skype does not open and that there some process related to Skype in the loading Task Manager, when I try to launch Skype, and there is no residual enforcement process, remaining open Skype when the icon disappears.

  I have reviewed the windows event viewer and there is no error in production log.

  I uninstalled Skype and reinstalled 6.18 which is the latest version, and it remains the same, cannot start.

  I did the search for an old version of Skype to use, and they are the same.

  I haven't installed any new programs in addition to update my graphics driver on the last 340.43 earlier this week, but had the problem before this update. I also rolled back my graphics driver to check which was not the issue, and the problem remains.

  I use Windows 7 on an i7 with 8g ram and a 660GTX. the same I have now used for 12 months without problem.

  I ran it again on all of my steps.
  Uninstalled Skype 6.18 once again.

  Delete the folder %appdata%\skype tried previously.

  Delete the file %temp%\skype as prefiously tried.

  Restarted my PC.

  Retelecharge 6.18 and installed, same problems.

  I then repeated that the above steps once again, however, downloaded 6.14, a version that I had not already tried today.

  It appears to allow me to connect, and then it crashed.

  I then loaded back into it again and it came without a problem... This time.

  I'm now able to maintain a stable application with installed 6.14.

• Skype crashes after update, windows 7 64 bit

  How to fix something that's not broken. New Skype crashes whenever I am trying to make a call. It is so bad that it freezes on the entire system. I can't 'kill' the application by ctrl + alt + del, only solution to restart the system. I Googled, tried a few solutions, as little different installation versions and turned off auto-updates to date, but nothing helped.

  OK, so, here is what I did (spoiler, video calls work once again):

  -Updated drivers Nvidia (really doubt it hit anything, Skype broke again)

  -Is back to the old version of Skype (does not work)

  -Removed stuff from a list of the programms, loading at startup (Avast could not be removed so...)

  -Uninstalled Avast.

  It worked.

  So I guess it could be reduced to Avast free Antivirus. And by the way, Skype has become a piece of shit really software that requires a magic set of conditions to work properly. I will be looking forward to an alternative to Skype. Thanks for all the Seraph, I mark a last as an accepted solution. Although an accepted solution would make decent software, as it used to be a few versions ago.

  Been using Skype for years and this is the first time that I need help from the community.

  We use Skype through the office on different computers (and my cell phone). Desktop computers are Windows 7 and 8.

  Today, I was prompted to update Skype 6.14 to 6.18 on our design studio PC (which is Windows XP X 64). After the download, Skype does not start.

  The Skype logo in the lower right disappears when you place the mouse over it.

  That's what I did:

  -running dxdiag.exe - no problems found

  -updates software updates to the last form of microsoft. (Automatic updates is disabled)

  still not launch.

  Ideally I'd like return to 6.14, as seems to be a common problem for all the levels right.

• CIT 400 Skype Phone not working do not since Microsoft and Skype have gathered.
