  Since today I started Skype and it performed an update. After that I had in my Skype screen and the icon of my activity was doing circles.

  And now I can not connect more I type in my skypename and password. Immediately after that it becomes an infinite loop of: loggin in there with a circle that goes on and on. What made this update for my pc or account that I can't use Skype more? All my friends had problems with it.

• Had to reinstall Windows and now Skype won't let me open a session.

  So the SSD, I had 10 installed windows on seems to be dead (the PC crashed and then wouldn't start on the correct hard drive. The hard drive also would not put in evidence in the BIOS any SATA port I used), then I reinstalled since on a backup drive (after cleaning it of course). Everything else works fine, 0 connection problems, got all my main programs installed and works again. But it seems that no matter what I try, the Skype app won't let me log on.

  This is the latest version, and I'm running IE11. I tried to reinstall, turn off the firewall, remove the file "shared.xml", removal of temporary internet files on IE... None of this fixed it. I also tried to create a new account from microsoft and it still wouldn't let me connect.

  Other ideas are appreciated.

  Thanks for your reply, but it turns out that all I had to do was to reset my router. I feel so stupid, it's usually one of the first things I do when troubleshooting connection problems - it just crossed your mind for any reason any.   Hello all, I have several problems on my Skype. I use Skype on Windows 8. I had these problems once or twice and I fixed it usually simply by deleting the program and it redownloading. Some people helping gave them some tips. I followed the steps to solve the problem. I tried first by la - press the key Windows and R and type in %AppData%. He said renaming the folder Skype 'Old_Skype '. I did, but unfortunately another problem occurred. HE says that you cannot rename this file is open in another program/place I do not know where because I already closed my Skype and quit out of it. The second thing I did was-press the Windows key and press R and type in % temp%/skype. Then I had to remove a folder called 'DbTemp '. The same problem still product - you cannot delete this file because the file is open in another program/place. I decided to rethink and to get the new Skype for windows. The initial problem was still there. I can't call or message or change my status on one of my Skype (Skype Desktop and Skype) modern Windows. I gave a thought and said if it was my computer. I denied that thought because my internet browser and the regular PC games still worked and operated very well. So I said what happens if it is just my Skype profile itself? I also countered this thought by the fact that I was still able to use Skype on my mobile phone. THIS ISSSUE IS REALLY A PAIN KILLER. I USE SKYPE TO COMMUNICATE WITH FRIENDS AND I CAN'T CONVINCE HIM TO USE ANOTHER PROGRAM INSTEAD OF SKYPE.   You can try to boot mode safe (repeatedly press F8 during startup).  Somehow, I don't think it works well.
