Sleep mode monitor makes peripheral computer play disconnect sound

I have 2 new Dell Optiplex 380 and 780 PC with DVI for integrated Intel G41 poster cards cards running Windows 7 Pro (Dell OEM).

Whenever the power settings are defined for the monitor in standby, the computer plays the sound 'disconnect a device' every 7 seconds.  This only happens when using the provided Dell printer driver Intel and the monitor is connected to the DVI card.  The problem does not exist when you use default Microsoft video driver, or if the monitor is connected directly to the analog VGA video port.

I want to use the Intel driver, because there the popup application that allows video parameters to be changed including the rotation of the screen image.  This was reported to Dell, but they indicate that it must be a problem with Windows 7.  It does not occur with drivers of Dell/Intel Windows XP - SP3.

I had the same problem with all the equipment Dell (PC and monitor).  I had no problem with our XP image, but once I started to work on the image of Win7, I started to experience.

I found that it was only a problem when I got the screen attached to the DVI port, but not the VGA port.
To solve the problem, I went into the menu of the monitor and changed the entrance to AutoDetect, DVI.
I hope this helps.

    Hello

Since buying my PC a few months ago, it has been one of the ' display' problems after another. This is the current problem:

When executing step by step away from my computer, I block via Win + L and shortly after that my monitor turns off. When you return a few moments later, I try to wake up to the top (but not really "wake up"...) To try to solve the problems of previous display, I already disabled hibernation options and sleep) my computer by moving my mouse. This causes monitors leave standby mode and be able to raise but what is dispalyed is black screens when I should have been introduced to the login screen.

Mouse clicks and keyboard do nothing and I'm stuck at black screens. To continue, I press the power button on my PC causing the hard drives to spin-up and shortly after the computer turns off. I press the power button and start the computer to the login screen where as soon as I get my password, Windows loads and all my programs etc appear like they were before I blocked my PC.

You can see previous problems, I had the list below, if all goes well they will help you to detect the cause of the current problem.

    Help, please.

    Thank you!

    Peter

    Previous problems I had:

    (1) when the awakening from hibernation, the computer would not wake up screensavers leaving no way for you to connect and save your work. Hard reboot needed. Solution: Disable hibernation Windows features.

    (2) error in the sense of "driver has no display and recovered." Possible solution: disabled hardware acceleration in Firefox.

    (3) when waking from sleep, I find that my 2 monitors have merged into one and a different resolution than usual. Once entered password to connect, programs that were on separate monitors are now on the same monitor. Right click on the desktop and selecting 'Screen Resolution'-> 'Detect' would set monitors to return to normal until the problem recurs. Possible solution: updated graphics driver. Don't know if this problem has been corrected, it may have just been concealed by the new problem mentioned above.

Thanks, but the steps above had no effect.

However, during a windows update, my graphics card driver has been restored and that seems to have stopped the problem.

Unfortunately, again I see apps that were on two screens before lock/standby, appearing on the screen even after release sleep/wake. So far he did not often so we'll see.

Hello, I have a M40-110. I have some problems with my wireless adapter. After I closed the screen (bed) and the computer goes into sleep mode, I open the computer screen becomes active, but this time the wireless adapter is not working properly and I can't connect to Internet with my wireless adapter. My Service offered to enable the bios wake-up-on-lan option. After doing this, the Internet worked properly.

    (2) this option doesn't make that hides my hardware failure (wireless card) and it is really necessary to solve this problem?

My Settings Advanced Energy has the following:
    Multimedia settings
    When sharing media
Connected: avoid the idling to sleep
    During video playback
    Plugged in: optimize video quality

Changing these settings has no effect on the sound to go to sleep when the display is put to sleep.
In my view, that it is a problem with the Sony Vaio L series specific.  I tried the same on a Dell laptop which works very well.

  • Monitor goes into sleep mode during the installation of Windows 7

Hello, I'm doing a new install of Windows 7 pro on a new SSD. He gets regarding to reset for the second time during the installation, and just before showing the page where you name the computer and configure user accounts, the monitor goes to sleep and won't return. only way to recover is to reset the machine, only to do exactly the same thing again. Anyone know what could be the cause? I used the same disk of windows for many expenses format / install Windows after hardware upgrades in the past and this has never happened before. Can provide the complete specifications of the system if necessary. Help, please!

    Hi Danpedro,

I see that the screen goes into sleep mode, in the last step of installing Windows 7. I'll help you with this problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. you have an external display driver card attached to the motherboard?

    3. you format the hard disk during Windows 7 installation?

    Method 1.

Disconnect any external devices and restart the computer to see if it helps complete the installation of Windows 7.

    Method 2.

If you have a driver to attached external display card, then you can disable this external driver in the BIOS and check if that helps complete the installation of Windows 7.

    Warning of the BIOS:

BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • My computer will always run a scheduled backup, if it goes into sleep mode? Windows 7...

original title: will BE BACKUP OCCUR IF MY LAPTOP GOES TO SLEEP MODE? (WIndows 7)

I have my laptop value backup at midnite.  I have the computer goes into "sleep" mode before.  Is my computer still backup as expected?

You can get the Task Scheduler to wake him up.

You can configure the backup form program timed task in the Task Scheduler with the game of "wake up to perform this task.  Depending on what you use for backups, the backup application can already use Task Scheduler & all you need to do is add the "wake up to perform this task" setting.

To open Task Scheduler, type 'Planner' in the search box of the start menu.  Search in the left pane and select its library.  Browse the tasks in the list that has your backup program in its "Action" tab  Make a copy [a test version] 1 by clicking Export in the right pane & recording in an easily accessible folder, 2 when you rename the file in the selected folder [simply add 'Test' at the beginning of its name] 3 click on import in the right pane to bring in the copy renamed the task from the same folder.

Now you can play safely & just disable the test version when you are finished.  The main change would "allow to wake up...." "and it's in the conditions tab.

If it works, let the enabled test version & disable the original for a few days while you're fairly confident that the new version works.  Then you can delete one of them - but only after have exported them again if you know that you can recover later.

  • Monitor intermittently do not wake from sleep mode

I have a new Pavilion 500 - 205t Windows 7 Desktop (two weeks).  Two days earlier, after the computer is in mode 'sleep', the computer would wake up, but the screen would not.  I contacted HP Support and they said not to put the computer in mode 'sleep', but to turn it off instead.  They said that the computer could accumulate a static charge which could prevent the monitor to wake up from sleep mode.  Their solution was to force a shutdown by pressing the power switch, unplug at the back of the Tower, by pressing the power switch for 20 seconds, plug everything back in and then turn on the computer.  The monitor worked correctly then wake up from sleep mode.  For the last two days, the computer would wake properly from sleep mode.  Today, the same thing happens again.  This time, I turned off the computer and then he turned back to (without unplugging everything) and the monitor worked correctly.

    Here's my question:

Is it really a static problem? (It has been cold and dry here for several weeks and static is high)  Or I have a hardware problem or software that needs to be fixed?  Thank you for your time.

I think I found the solution to this problem for my computer.  I changed the settings for sleep or sleep 'Hybrid' or 'Hibernate' is allowed.  Since then, I have not experienced the problem.  I also changed what does the power button, so that when I press the power button, the computer shuts down normally.  This prevents a "forced" shutdown if the problem happens again.

Thanks again Bill, for your time.  I mark this problem is resolved.
