Slow 2011 MacBook Pro OS 10.11.2

My Macbook Pro (bought new in 2014; processor 2 Ghz, 4 GB memory) worked extremely slowly for several weeks. It often takes several minutes to load a Web browser (any: firefox, chrome, safari, opera, it is anyway) even if no other programs are open.

If I try to open more than one or two programs at the same time, the macbook gets very hot and I get the beachball 'angry' indefinitely until I force quit most of the applications that I am running. It is basically useless.

It doesn't seem to be a cause - it's always like that.

There is a reasonable amount of space on the disk (101 GB free of 498). I tried to reboot in safe mode, it runs two types of analysis antivirus (avast and Bitdefend, who come clean), running disk utility, run "first aid", repair disk permissions, using own memory (which has been very useful in the past, but not this time) and reinstall El Captain. None of that helped him.

If anyone can suggest what else could go wrong, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

Delete Bitdefend and any other anti virus Avast programs you have installed. Remove the own memory and all other programs of type 'cleaner '.

My Early 2011 Macbook pro worked extremely slow for a few months.  He is lagging in the start-up and opening of all applications.  It also happened to coincide with my Wifi, refusing to recognize my Macbook, he repeated that a device was already on the network with the same IP address. I tried reseting the IP address several times.  But since he has never done this on other networks I received a new router this week and have not had a problem until now.

The biggest problem is the race slow, hot and delay.  I have 8 GB of RAM and a 1 TB hard drive. I'm running OS X 10.11.5. Any suggestion or help is greatly appreciated!

  • Lion running on base 2011 MacBook Pro afraid of: upgrade to "El Capitan."

I have a base 2011 MacBook Pro running Lion 10.7.5. It becomes kind of slow, but I just had it looked at. No problems. I'm afraid of a free upgrade to El Capitan as it may run more slowly. I have much stored and not in the game. Think to pay shop install for $30 Mountain Lion. Thoughts?

There should be a reason why a Mac starts running slow.  First find the reason (s) and then upgrade.

I rebooted several times and get the same result.

Can you help me with this problem.

  • End of 2011 MacBook Pro update

Can I use memory Module Apple 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 (PC3-12800) - 2 x 4 GB to upgrade my end 2011 MacBook Pro (4 GB / 1333 Mhz)?  The representative said it's for 2012, but I read here that some have used it without problems on years later.

Mac can be very picky with ram, unlike Windows machines. For that it works better with no trouble now or later, be sure to buy ram designed for Macs. Match sticks and speeds. Some Mac does not start if a faster ram is used. Go with 2 x 4 GB 1333 mhm, same SODIMM, made for Apple products.

Why the update did slow my MacBook pro down so much? What could be in the last update of El Capitan to slow my Mid 2010 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro 2.66 down so much?   He has never run it slow before! Everything takes more time in all areas. Could I have made a mistake during the download and installation?  If so is it possible to force a re - install the latest update?

I don't know if I can restore back after an update of this size. Everyone has similar problems or have thoughts on what could be wrong? I know it's far from being a State of the art Macbook Pro. But it was working fine before the update.

Any thoughts would be really appreciated. I can't afford to buy anything newer right now.

  • How can I switch from OSX Lion 10.7.5 to El Capitan on my end 2011 MacBook Pro?

How to move from OS X Lion 10.7.5 to El Capitan on my end 2011 MacBook Pro? I get an error 'install the distribution of the error signed by apple. I'm sure I need first to switch to something else, but I have no idea where to start.

    1. check all your applications to ensure compatibility with ElCapitan.

When those you want to keep (as possible) have a compatible update: you can update after installation.

2 ElCapitan performs better with more than 4 GB of Ram, although in very low load systems, it runs on 2 GB.

    3. your hard drive doesn't have to be "nearly complete."

    4. go in the Appstore and download ElCapitan (the download comes in your Applications folder)

The installer is removed after installation, so if you like to keep a copy before starting the installation.

    5. install all applications updated.

  • How to replace the hard drive with an SSD on a model of end 2011 MacBook Pro 15 inch, A1286

    Hello

I would like to replace the hard drive on my model of end 2011 MacBook Pro 15 inch, A1286 with a disk solid state drive (SSD). First of all, I would like to know if this is possible. Second, what is the best way to do it? I'm under the Yosemite OS if that makes a difference.

Here are some technical details of my current system:

-MacBook Pro 15 inch, late 2011 model A1286

    -OS yosemite

    -16 GB of memory/RAM

    -Currently using stock HD

All instructions step by step would be helpful with what software should I use to make backups of my current operating system (e.g., SuperDuper). I would also like to know what tools or material I need like type of screwdriver, cables to transfer data to the SSD, etc.. My goal is to not have to reinstall each app one by one on the SSD, but if that's the only way to do it then it's okay.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You can see instructions OWC here. Tools are mentioned in the discussion (I used a plastic knife picnic with the stronger edge somewhat blunt for nylon pry tool). I suggest you invest in one of these external fences. Install the SSD in who and clone internally externally with CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper. Then move the external drive of the internal drive after the start of the SSD in the external to confirm the operation.

  • Cintiq 21UX DTZ-2100 Compatible with end 2011 Macbook Pro?

Everyone successfully connected a Cintiq 21UX to an end 2011 macbook pro? I could make using Windows 7 via bootcamp, however I was unsuccessfully trying to get IOS Lion to recognize the monitor. Am I missing something? I'm using the latest drivers and a DVI - I to mini display port connector.

    Thank you!

As much as I hate to say it, for the sake of someone else who has this problem, I'll answer my own question. I talked to a representative WACOM today and they asked if I'd handed the switch at the rear of the CINTIQ to DVI mode or if it was the VGA mode. Of course, it is VGA. After I hit the switch of the CINTIQ worked perfectly.
